Page 1, Line 6WHEREAS, In 2006, following the passage of anti-immigrant
Page 1, Line 7federal legislation and an anti-immigrant special legislative session in
Page 1, Line 8Colorado, a pro-immigrant justice movement swept the nation, including
Page 1, Line 9in Colorado. Community organizations led by local Latina and Latino
Page 1, Line 10activists convened the first ever Latino/a Advocacy Day in Denver in
Page 1, Line 112007 to hold policymakers accountable, advocate for better public
Page 1, Line 12policies, and grow the Latina and Latino community's power and
Page 1, Line 13influence inside the state capitol; and
Page 2, Line 1WHEREAS, In 2025, Latinas and Latinos in Colorado again find
Page 2, Line 2themselves at the intersection of anti-immigrant attacks from the federal
Page 2, Line 3government, including indiscriminate mass deportations violently
Page 2, Line 4separating Colorado immigrant families, as well as attempts to bring back 2006-era anti-immigrant legislation during this legislative session; and

Page 2, Line 6WHEREAS, Latinas and Latinos constitute the largest nonwhite demographic group in Colorado, at 22.7% of the population; and

Page 2, Line 8WHEREAS, Latinas and Latinos remain among the most impacted
Page 2, Line 9people when assessing the adverse outcomes of inequitable health care, housing, education, and economic opportunity; and

Page 2, Line 11WHEREAS, Involving Latinas and Latinos in the policy-making
Page 2, Line 12process ensures that the voices and lived experiences of all Coloradans are respected and honored; and

Page 2, Line 14WHEREAS, Community efforts like Latino/a Advocacy Day help
Page 2, Line 15create better policies that impact the daily lives of all people in our state; now, therefore,

Page 2, Line 17Be It Resolved by the Senate of the Seventy-fifth General Assembly of the State of Colorado, the House of Representatives concurring herein:

Page 2, Line 21contributions to Colorado's long history of political engagement and their role in the policy-making process;

Page 2, Line 24participants who have traveled to the Colorado State Capitol from across
