Senate Bill 25-249

Concerning the repeal of the annual transfer of money from the general fund to the state agency sustainability revolving fund.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:

SECTION 1.  In Colorado Revised Statutes, 24-30-2304, amend (1) and (2) as follows:

24-30-2304.  Revolving fund - definition. (1)  The state agency sustainability revolving fund, referred to in this section as the "fund", is created in the state treasury. The fund consists of money transferred to the fund pursuant to subsection (2) of this section and any other money that the general assembly may appropriate or transfer to the fund and any gifts, grants, or donations that the department credits to the fund pursuant to subsection (5) of this section.

(2)  On July 1, 2024, and on July 1 each year thereafter, the state treasurer shall transfer four hundred thousand dollars from the general fund to the fund. The office shall allocate the money in the fund to assist in replacing the state's gas and diesel-powered equipment that is located in ozone nonattainment areas as designated by the U.S. environmental protection agency with equivalent electric equipment, and to operate the office in accordance with this part 23.

SECTION 2.  Safety clause. The general assembly finds, determines, and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, or safety or for appropriations for the support and maintenance of the departments of the state and state institutions.
