After consideration on the merits, the Committee recommends the following:
HB26-1127 be amended as follows, and as so amended, be referred to the Committee of the Whole with favorable recommendation:

Page 1, Line 10(4) (a) (I) It is the duty of all law enforcement officers who
Page 1, Line 11receive notification of traffic accidents crashes within their respective
Page 1, Line 12jurisdictions or who investigate such accidents traffic crashes either
Page 1, Line 13at the time of or at the scene of the accident crash or thereafter by
Page 1, Line 14interviewing participants or witnesses to submit reports of all such
Page 1, Line 15accidents crashes to the department on the form provided, including
Page 1, Line 16insurance information received from any driver, within five days of
Page 1, Line 17after the time they receive such the information or complete their
Page 1, Line 18investigation. If a participant in a crash dies within thirty days
Page 1, Line 19after the crash as a result of an injury sustained in the crash,
Page 1, Line 20the law enforcement officer who was notified of or investigated
Page 1, Line 21the crash shall submit an amended report to the department
Page 1, Line 22within five days after receiving notification of the death. The
Page 1, Line 23law enforcement officer shall indicate in such the report whether the
Page 1, Line 24inflatable restraint system in the vehicle, if any, inflated and deployed in
Page 1, Line 25the accident crash. For the purposes of this section, "inflatable restraint
Page 1, Line 26system" has the same meaning as set forth in 49 CFR sec. 507.208
Page 2, Line 1S4.1.5.1 (b) 49 CFR sec. 571.208 S4.1.5.1 (b).".
