Page 1, Line 5Colorado, and the county of Pueblo, Colorado, and was the third ship in the naval fleet to bear the name Pueblo; and

Page 1, Line 7WHEREAS, After leaving Japan in early January 1968 on an
Page 1, Line 8intelligence mission, the U.S.S. Pueblo was attacked by the North Korean military on January 23, 1968; and

Page 2, Line 2crew of the U.S.S. Pueblo, the ship was in international waters at the time of the attack; and

Page 2, Line 4WHEREAS, Navy Fireman Duane Hodges of the U.S.S. Pueblo
Page 2, Line 5was killed during the attack, and 80 crew members and two civilian
Page 2, Line 6oceanographers were captured and held for 11 months by the North Korean government; and

Page 2, Line 8WHEREAS, This year marks the fifty-seventh anniversary of North Korea's attack on the U.S.S. Pueblo and her crew; and

Page 2, Line 10WHEREAS, The U.S.S. Pueblo is still in commission in the
Page 2, Line 11United States Navy but continues to be held by the North Korean
Page 2, Line 12government and is currently in a museum in Pyongyang, North Korea; now, therefore,

Page 2, Line 14Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the Seventy-fifth General Assembly of the State of Colorado, the Senate concurring herein:

Page 2, Line 16(1) That we, the members of the General Assembly, recognize the bravery and sacrifice of the crew of the U.S.S. Pueblo;

Page 2, Line 18(2) That we take pride in the fact that the U.S.S. Pueblo bears the
Page 2, Line 19name of a city and a county in Colorado, and, therefore, the citizens of
Page 2, Line 20Colorado should be aware of the incident that occurred with the U.S.S. Pueblo 57 years ago;

Page 2, Line 23Korean government to return the U.S.S. Pueblo to the people of the United States; and
