SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 25-002

CONCERNING THE OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE FIRST REGULAR SESSION OF THE SEVENTY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY.

Be It Resolved by the Senate of the Seventy-fifth General Assembly of the State of Colorado, the House of Representatives concurring herein:

(1)  That, pursuant to the provisions of section 2-2-305, Colorado Revised Statutes, the following positions are hereby created for the First Regular Session of the Seventy-fifth General Assembly with the monthly, daily, or hourly compensation to be paid to the persons elected or appointed to each position in the range set opposite the position:

*The Secretary of the Senate and the Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives are authorized to hire Legislative Aides pursuant to Joint Rule 39 of the House of Representatives and the Senate. If Legislative Aides are authorized by the Executive Committee, acting in accordance with such Joint Rule 39, to start prior to the convening of the next regular session, they may be paid at the rate specified in this resolution from the date they are authorized to start.

(2)  That the Secretary of the Senate and the Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives remain in such capacity after adjournment of the General Assembly sine die until the convening of the Second Regular Session of the Seventy-fifth General Assembly in January 2026.

(3)  That the President of the Senate and the Chair of the House Services Committee, with the authorization of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, are hereby separately authorized to retain and hire replacements for employees referred to in subsection (1) of this resolution for such period of time in the interim between the First Regular Session of the Seventy-fifth General Assembly and the Second Regular Session of the Seventy-fifth General Assembly as they deem necessary for their respective houses.

(4)  That the President of the Senate and the Chair of the House Services Committee, with the authorization of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, are hereby separately authorized to hire such session-only employees for the next regular session as they deem necessary for their respective houses and who may start their employment on the date authorized.
