Joint Budget Committee. The bill eliminates the requirement that the commissioner of education annually reprint and distribute laws enacted by the general assembly that concern education.

• Page 2, Line 2SECTION 1.  In Colorado Revised Statutes, 22-2-112, repeal (1)(i) as follows:

• Page 2, Line 322-2-112.  Commissioner - duties - report - legislative

• Page 2, Line 4declaration. (1)  Subject to the supervision of the state board, the commissioner has the following duties:

• Page 2, Line 5(i)  To cause to be reprinted annually laws enacted by the general

• Page 2, Line 6assembly concerning education, in accordance with the provisions of

• Page 2, Line 7section 24-1-136, C.R.S., and to furnish copies thereof to interested

• Page 2, Line 8persons. All publishing costs therefor shall be paid out of the state public school fund pursuant to section 22-54-114 (5).

• Page 2, Line 9SECTION 2.  In Colorado Revised Statutes, 22-54-114, repeal (5) as follows:

• Page 2, Line 1022-54-114.  State public school fund. (5)  All publishing costs

• Page 2, Line 11associated with the annual printing of the laws enacted by the general

• Page 2, Line 12assembly concerning education shall be paid out of the state public school fund.

• Page 2, Line 13SECTION 3.  Appropriation - adjustments to 2025 long bill. To

• Page 2, Line 14implement this act, the cash funds appropriation from the state public

• Page 2, Line 15school fund created in section 22-54-114 (1), C.R.S., made in the annual

• Page 2, Line 16general appropriation act for the 2025-26 state fiscal year to the

• Page 2, Line 17department of education for use by management and administration for

• Page 2, Line 18reprinting and distributing laws concerning education is decreased by $35,480.

• Page 2, Line 19SECTION 4.  Effective date. This act takes effect July 1, 2025.

• Page 2, Line 20SECTION 5.  Safety clause. The general assembly finds,

• Page 2, Line 21determines, and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate

• Page 3, Line 1preservation of the public peace, health, or safety or for appropriations for

• Page 3, Line 2the support and maintenance of the departments of the state and state institutions.
