After consideration on the merits, the Committee recommends the following:
HB25-1079 be amended as follows, and as so amended, be referred to the Committee of the Whole with favorable recommendation:

Page 1, Line 3year, $120,856 is appropriated to the judicial department for use by the
Page 1, Line 4independent ethics commission. This appropriation is from the general
Page 1, Line 5fund. To implement this act, the commission may use this appropriation
Page 1, Line 6as follows:
Page 1, Line 7(a) $96,917 for program costs, which amount is based on an
Page 1, Line 8assumption that the commission will require an additional 0.8 FTE; and
Page 1, Line 9(b) $23,939 for the purchase of legal services.
Page 1, Line 10(2) For the 2025-26 state fiscal year, $23,939 is appropriated to
Page 1, Line 11the department of law. This appropriation is from reappropriated funds
Page 1, Line 12received from the judicial department under subsection (1)(b) of this
Page 1, Line 13section and is based on an assumption that the department of law will
Page 1, Line 14require an additional 0.1 FTE. To implement this act, the department of
Page 1, Line 15law may use this appropriation to provide legal services for the
Page 1, Line 16independent ethics commission.".
