Concerning reverting money back to the general fund that was originally appropriated from the general fund to the department of labor and employment to be used for the construction registered apprenticeship grant program.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:
SECTION 1. In Colorado Revised Statutes, 8-83-701, amend (4)(a) as follows:
8-83-701. Construction registered apprenticeship grant program - created - reports - appropriation - definitions. (4) For the 2023-24 state fiscal year, the general assembly shall appropriate to the department of labor and employment for allocation by the office one million four hundred thousand dollars from the general fund for purposes of this section. Any unexpended money remaining at the end of the 2023-24 state fiscal year from the appropriation listed in this subsection (4):
(a) Does not revert to the general fund or any other fund; except that, on or before June 30, 2025, two hundred twenty-two thousand seven hundred one dollars reverts to the general fund;
SECTION 2. Safety clause. The general assembly finds, determines, and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, or safety or for appropriations for the support and maintenance of the departments of the state and state institutions.
