Page 1, Line 9between the ages of 5 and 19 from all economic, social, and cultural backgrounds; and

Page 1, Line 11WHEREAS, More than 107,000 Colorado youth, with the
Page 2, Line 1guidance of more than 11,000 adult and youth volunteer leaders, currently
Page 2, Line 2contribute to their communities and gain practical experience in career exploration through their 4-H projects and activities; and

Page 2, Line 4WHEREAS, 4-H grows young people who have essential life
Page 2, Line 5skills like confidence, courage, resilience, and curiosity and who are empowered and prepared for life today and tomorrow; and

Page 2, Line 7WHEREAS, Compared to their peers, youth involved in 4-H programs are:
Page 2, Line 8●Four times more likely to make contributions to their communities; and
Page 2, Line 9●Two times more likely to be civically engaged, to make
Page 2, Line 10healthier choices, and to participate in after-school STEM programs; now, therefore,

Page 2, Line 12Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the Seventy-fifth General Assembly of the State of Colorado, the Senate concurring herein:

Page 2, Line 14(1) That the General Assembly salutes the Colorado 4-H program,
Page 2, Line 15in partnership with Colorado State University Extension, in its efforts to
Page 2, Line 16prepare Colorado's youth for the future by providing a wealth of
Page 2, Line 17opportunities for young people to acquire decision-making, leadership, and communication skills in a hands-on, friendly learning environment;

Page 2, Line 19(2) That the General Assembly encourages young people in Colorado to get a head start in life by participating in 4-H activities; and

Page 2, Line 21(3) That the General Assembly hereby declares Monday, January
Page 2, Line 2227, 2025, to be "Colorado 4-H Day" in recognition of the 4-H program's efforts on behalf of Colorado's youth.
