Page 1, Line 5WHEREAS, Colorado is home to a significant number of military
Page 1, Line 6installations, including Fort Carson, the United States Air Force
Page 1, Line 7Academy, Buckley Space Force Base, Peterson Space Force Base,
Page 1, Line 8Schriever Space Force Base, and Cheyenne Mountain Space Force
Page 1, Line 9Station, that contribute not only to the national security of our nation but to the economic health of our state; and

Page 2, Line 1WHEREAS, Colorado benefits greatly from the presence and
Page 2, Line 2military service of the more than 47,000 men and women in our state who
Page 2, Line 3serve in the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Marine
Page 2, Line 4Corps, and Coast Guard; the branch Reserves; the Colorado National Guard; and the Civil Air Patrol; and
Page 2, Line 5
Page 2, Line 6WHEREAS, The service members of the Colorado National Guard
Page 2, Line 7have served in defense of our nation and as the first military responders
Page 2, Line 8in support of civil authorities during domestic emergencies and are celebrating their 165th anniversary this year; and

Page 2, Line 10WHEREAS, In addition to active members of the United States
Page 2, Line 11Armed Services, Colorado is the proud home of more than 340,000
Page 2, Line 12military veterans who have served their country long and well and who
Page 2, Line 13bring great honor and distinction to the state. Colorado is home not only
Page 2, Line 14to active duty service personnel and veterans but also to the countless
Page 2, Line 15family members of these service members who display the same dedication, courage, and sacrifice; and

Page 2, Line 17WHEREAS, We should never forget the uncommon sacrifices
Page 2, Line 18made for us by the service members from Colorado declared missing in
Page 2, Line 19action or prisoners of war while defending the principles of liberty and justice in conflicts around the world; and

Page 2, Line 21WHEREAS, Disparate and diverse groups of Coloradans, such as
Page 2, Line 22persons who are African American, Native American, Latino or Latina,
Page 2, Line 23or Hispanic, in addition to men and women of all backgrounds, are bound
Page 2, Line 24together in the Armed Services by their selfless dedication to the spirit of
Page 2, Line 25our nation, the ideals of freedom and democracy, and the cause of democracy and stability around the globe; and

Page 2, Line 27WHEREAS, In this time of conflict, it is particularly appropriate
Page 2, Line 28to recognize the Coloradans in all branches and components of the Armed
Page 2, Line 29Services who serve to protect the security and peace of our nation and other nations; now, therefore,

Page 2, Line 31Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the Seventy-fifth General Assembly of the State of Colorado, the Senate concurring herein:

Page 2, Line 33(1) That we, the members of the Seventy-fifth General Assembly,
Page 2, Line 34hereby extend our heartfelt gratitude to our state's veterans, past and
Page 2, Line 35present, to all members of the military currently serving in the Armed
Page 3, Line 1Services, and to the family members of active duty personnel and
Page 3, Line 2veterans, and that we remember and honor prisoners of war and those missing in action from previous conflicts;

Page 3, Line 5of Fort Carson and maintain our strong commitment to supporting ongoing military training at the Mountain Post; and
