Joint Budget Committee. Under current law, community health workers may be reimbursed through the Colorado medical assistance program as long as the community health worker appears on the voluntary competency-based community health worker registry verifying that the community health worker completed state-approved training and credentialing requirements.
The bill eliminates reimbursement for community health workers under the Colorado medical assistance program.

Page 2, Line 2SECTION 1. Legislative intent. It is the intent of the general

Page 2, Line 4twelve dollars from the controlled maintenance trust fund that is
Page 2, Line 5transferred to the general fund in this act and one million four hundred
Page 2, Line 6three thousand five hundred eleven dollars from the excess general fund
Page 2, Line 7reserve is used to provide reimbursement for community health worker services.
Page 2, Line 8SECTION 2. In Colorado Revised Statutes, 24-75-302.5, add (13) as follows:

Page 2, Line 11section to the contrary, on July 1, 2025, the state treasurer
