Concerning the timing of the enactment of the "Interstate Compact on Placement of Children".
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Colorado:
SECTION 1. In Session Laws of Colorado 2024, amend 24-60-1804, Colorado Revised Statutes, as repealed and reenacted by section 2 of chapter 248, as follows:
24-60-1804. Notice to revisor of statutes.This part 18Section 2 of Senate Bill 24-125, enacted in 2024, will take effect on the date the compact is enacted into law in the thirty-fifth compact state. The executive director of the Colorado department of human services shall notify the revisor of statutes in writing of the date when the condition specified in this section has occurred by e-mailing the notice to revisorofstatutes.ga@coleg.gov. This part 18Section 2 of Senate Bill 24-125, enacted in 2024, takes effect upon the date identified in the notice that the thirty-fifth state adopted the compact or, if the notice does not specify that date, upon the date of the notice to the revisor of statutes.
SECTION 2. Safety clause. The general assembly finds, determines, and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health, or safety or for appropriations for the support and maintenance of the departments of the state and state institutions.
