Page 1, Line 9a construction industry apprenticeship program registered with
Page 1, Line 10the United States department of labor or a state apprenticeship
Page 1, Line 11agency recognized by the United States department of labor
Page 1, Line 12unless the apprentice is enrolled in an apprenticeship program
Page 1, Line 13training the apprentice for an occupation officially recognized
Page 1, Line 14by the United States department of labor as an electrical
Page 1, Line 15occupation, as defined by the United States department of
Page 1, Line 16labor, bureau of labor statistics, occupational employment and
Page 1, Line 17wage statistics occupation code 47.2111.
Page 1, Line 18(II) On or before July 1, 2027, the state apprenticeship
Page 1, Line 19agency and the department, if existing resources are available
Page 1, Line 20or if the department receives sufficient gifts, grants, or
Page 1, Line 21donations pursuant to subsection (7) of this section, shall
Page 1, Line 22establish a data-sharing agreement to allow verification of
Page 1, Line 23eligibility for registration with the board pursuant to
Page 1, Line 24subsection (3.5)(a)(I) of this section.
Page 1, Line 25(b) (I) If the board determines that an apprentice is not in
Page 1, Line 26compliance with subsection (3.5)(a) of this section, the board
Page 1, Line 27shall notify the electrical contractor that registered the
Page 2, Line 1apprentice with the board. Within thirty days after notification
Page 2, Line 2of noncompliance, the electrical contractor shall provide
Page 2, Line 3proof that the apprentice is eligible to be registered as an
Page 2, Line 4electrical apprentice with the board. If the board verifies within
Page 2, Line 5sixty days after notification of noncompliance that the
Page 2, Line 6apprentice is eligible to be registered as an electrical
Page 2, Line 7apprentice, the apprentice will remain registered with the board.
Page 2, Line 8(II) If the board cannot verify that an apprentice is
Page 2, Line 9eligible to be registered as an electrical apprentice within sixty
Page 2, Line 10days after notice of noncompliance pursuant to subsection
Page 2, Line 11(3.5)(b)(I) of this section, the board shall remove the apprentice's
Page 2, Line 12registration with the board, and the noncompliant apprentice
Page 2, Line 13shall not perform work as an electrical apprentice in the state.

Page 2, Line 15apprentice whose training is provided directly by the electrical
Page 2, Line 16contractor or another electrical training program that is not

Page 3, Line 2apprentice with the board. Within thirty days after notification
Page 3, Line 3of noncompliance, the plumbing contractor shall provide proof
Page 3, Line 4that the apprentice is eligible to be registered as a plumbing
Page 3, Line 5apprentice with the board. If the board verifies within sixty days
Page 3, Line 6after notification of noncompliance that the plumbing
Page 3, Line 7apprentice is eligible to be registered as a plumbing apprentice,
Page 3, Line 8the plumbing apprentice will remain registered with the board.
Page 3, Line 9(II) If the board cannot verify that a plumbing apprentice

Page 3, Line 22takes effect January 1, 2027; except that, if a referendum petition is filed
Page 3, Line 23pursuant to section 1 (3) of article V of the state constitution against this
Page 3, Line 24act or an item, section, or part of this act within the ninety-day period
Page 3, Line 25after final adjournment of the general assembly, then the act, item,
Page 3, Line 26section, or part will not take effect unless approved by the people at the
Page 3, Line 27general election to be held in November 2026 and, in such case, will take
Page 3, Line 28effect January 1, 2027, or on the date of the official declaration of the
Page 3, Line 29vote thereon by the governor, whichever is later.".
