One of the 02:27.270 --> 02:36.390 things I noticed early on is it's a whole lot easier to get people delivered from demons 02:36.390 --> 02:44.670 than it is to keep them delivered. You can just cast them out. I mean, they have to go. It's not 02:45.370 --> 02:56.110 rocket science to figure out how to get them out. But people get re-invaded so quickly, so fast, 02:57.530 --> 03:02.910 and it's like, and when they get re-invaded, it's always worse. It's not better, it's worse. 03:06.450 --> 03:11.670 So I was praying about it for years, saying, Lord, you've got to show me a way 03:12.630 --> 03:19.650 that is simple to understand to help people grasp what this looks like. The New Testament doesn't 03:19.650 --> 03:28.590 say a lot about it. So there's got to be a way. And he did. He showed me a pattern that 03:28.590 --> 03:37.990 comes out of the Old Testament in a few places. So I will explain that to you because the ability to 03:37.990 --> 03:52.950 keep ourself free from demonic aggravation, harassment, torment, whatever you want to call it. 03:54.110 --> 03:57.450 I don't know if everybody, while it's laying in front of me, I don't know if everybody has 03:57.450 --> 04:03.370 one of these. Not just be set free, 04:12.730 --> 04:17.010 but live free. It's kind of like getting healed. It's extremely important we get healed, but 04:17.010 --> 04:23.650 sometimes it's easier to get the healing than it is to hang onto it. So there's, of course, 04:23.650 --> 04:28.670 God's words got everything covered from A to Z. It's all in there. You just got to find it. And 04:28.670 --> 04:34.850 he showed me a principle on the Old Testament children of Israel going into the Promised Land. 04:36.250 --> 04:42.810 The Promised Land, according to that whole journey, that whole thing, according to 1 Corinthians 10, 04:44.730 --> 04:52.590 what happened with them in the physical and how they lived that out is examples for us 04:53.290 --> 05:00.630 in our life so that we don't make the same mistakes they did. So that's where I caught it. 05:00.750 --> 05:04.510 It's like, you know, you're reading along and all of a sudden it jumps off the patient. It's like, 05:05.370 --> 05:09.110 so their examples does. How are they examples thus? They had physical land that's that and the 05:09.110 --> 05:14.990 other. So I started asking about it and doing a little study on it. And you've heard me say 05:14.990 --> 05:21.450 this before. They had a physical nation land that a physical nation was promised and they 05:21.450 --> 05:31.890 needed to move into and occupy. Each one of us live in our own dirt land. It's the temple. 05:33.110 --> 05:39.070 It's the house we live in. This is not me. This is the house I live in. And when 05:39.610 --> 05:45.070 this house time is done, I will leave and this house will go back to dirt because it's made out 05:45.070 --> 05:54.130 of dirt. Okay. So the principle, the concept that started brewing in me was, 05:55.830 --> 06:00.090 well, the examples that we can see with them and the mistakes they made and the things they did 06:00.090 --> 06:06.450 right. And all this, that and the other, we're supposed to apply to us living in our flesh. 06:07.670 --> 06:12.190 So I started studying it. And you know, it started amazing me. It's like, wow, 06:12.190 --> 06:19.070 there's a lot of similarities here. So taking the concept and saying, okay, we got flesh, 06:19.290 --> 06:24.190 we've got land, we've got to occupy it, we've got to conquer it, we've got to deal with it, 06:24.710 --> 06:29.210 promised land had enemies that needed to be gotten out. They are the perfect picture of the 06:29.210 --> 06:35.290 demonic realm. Perfect picture. So we're going to take some time and we're going to show that 06:35.290 --> 06:46.090 to you and give some basics on how do we hold our freedom spiritually from demons. 06:47.650 --> 06:53.590 To get it's not good enough. You have to hold it. And in fact, that was one of the things, 06:54.070 --> 06:59.490 you know, and whether we agree with them or disagree with his way, it's how God uses him. 06:59.490 --> 07:04.750 But it's one of the things that, that Bob Larson has voiced that he struggles with, 07:04.890 --> 07:09.390 because that's his whole ministry is trying to get people free. He says you get them free 07:09.390 --> 07:14.750 in a year later. It's a mess. They are too immature to hold their freedom. 07:16.250 --> 07:20.930 And he says, but the problem is they're so bound, it's a struggle to try to get 07:20.930 --> 07:24.330 them to mature at all before you set them free. But then you set them free 07:24.330 --> 07:29.850 and they can't occupy the land. And it doesn't take but a few months and they're in trouble again 07:29.850 --> 07:35.250 spiritually. So then they want deliverance again. And he too said it's not supposed to work that 07:35.250 --> 07:43.090 way. It's that's not, we're supposed to hang on to our freedom. And so that's what this booklet 07:43.090 --> 07:51.250 is all about is page one. We'll start right there. It's not as good, 07:58.530 --> 08:06.310 but it's not bad either. This booklet deals with another vital issue, staying free from the 08:06.310 --> 08:15.970 demonic problems. This book dealt with how do we get free? What do we have to do to get free? 08:16.690 --> 08:23.810 And it just laid it out. You do this, you do this, you pray this. Depending upon what the situation 08:23.810 --> 08:32.210 is, it laid it out very plainly on how you get free. This booklet is, okay, so now how do we stay 08:32.210 --> 08:41.230 free? I was not planning to hit either one of these two first. In my mind, these two were to be 08:41.230 --> 08:47.970 last. And we teach about all kinds of demonic stuff. And like, for instance, the first thing I 08:47.970 --> 08:55.890 want to deal with is what are demons? Most people don't know what our demons, where they come from, 08:55.950 --> 09:03.670 where they start, and start real basic and build until we would get to the place of, 09:04.210 --> 09:07.850 okay, now we understand how the whole thing looks and works. Now let's get free. 09:08.610 --> 09:13.070 And then the last thing we were going to look at is, and let's learn how to stay free. 09:14.310 --> 09:19.310 And it didn't turn out that way. God totally reversed the order. He said, 09:19.370 --> 09:24.650 no, you're going to deal with these two first. And then we'll talk about the other stuff and 09:24.650 --> 09:30.430 so forth. So the scriptural pictures of the process of learning to hold the land 09:31.270 --> 09:36.130 are found in the two basic pictures we're going to look at are Exodus and Deuteronomy. 09:36.670 --> 09:40.890 And then Jesus talks about them a little from a little different perspective in the New Testament. 09:42.050 --> 09:46.450 What we're doing is we're comparing the Old Testament Israelites to getting into the 09:46.450 --> 09:53.190 Promised Land, getting the enemies out, and then holding that land to us doing that with 09:53.190 --> 09:59.530 our physical bodies, our temple, the land we live in. Again, the overall emphasis of this 09:59.530 --> 10:08.790 booklet is self-deliverance. Now, don't misunderstand me. We can and we should pray 10:08.790 --> 10:16.870 over people for deliverance. This is not forbidden. Let's say it that way. Even Christians, 10:17.470 --> 10:22.650 I mean, if they're a young Christian, they're an immature Christian, they may not have the 10:22.650 --> 10:29.110 wherewithal yet to beat some things themselves. So then we come alongside and we help them. 10:30.730 --> 10:40.780 As they grow, they should be holding their own land. The key is they've got to have a little 10:40.780 --> 10:51.260 movement or room to grow. So the biggest self-deliverance process there is is called 10:51.260 --> 10:58.080 sanctification. It's the biggest. Because God will lay his finger on something by the Holy Spirit 10:58.080 --> 11:04.820 and say, I want you to deal with this in your life. And then as we go after it, we will automatically 11:04.820 --> 11:11.520 do James 4-7. Sanctification automatically does James 4-7. Remember what James 4-7 says? 11:14.140 --> 11:18.700 Submit to God, resist the devil, and he will flee. It is the foundation for deliverance. 11:19.660 --> 11:24.060 Well, when you're being sanctified and he puts his finger on, he says, I want you to change this. 11:24.500 --> 11:30.580 You have to decide if you're going to submit to God. If you do the right decision and you go, 11:30.640 --> 11:36.180 okay, God, let's work on this. You have now submitted yourself to him. The thing you're 11:36.180 --> 11:41.240 working on is probably not from God's kingdom. It's probably from the other kingdom. So you're 11:41.240 --> 11:45.820 going to start taking a stand against it and everything it represents. So now you're resisting 11:45.820 --> 11:52.920 the devil. So sanctification, all by itself, if people will be serious about it, it's 11:52.920 --> 12:01.820 self-deliverance. Just a couple pieces of review here. As I stated in the first booklet, 12:02.000 --> 12:07.680 from my perspective, one of the reasons we don't hear of much about believers being delivered 12:07.680 --> 12:14.680 or needing deliverance after the beginning of the church is because they knew how to grow in 12:14.680 --> 12:24.020 God. They were, let's say it this way, once you decide to make Jesus your savior and you know the 12:24.020 --> 12:31.320 consequences of if that news gets out, you're going to be hunted to be killed, like an animal. 12:33.400 --> 12:37.200 You have a whole different approach to living your spiritual life for God 12:37.820 --> 12:42.020 than in America, where it's just a little side thing we do on Sunday morning, 12:43.340 --> 12:48.080 occasionally sometimes. You know, it's not even all the time. There's a lot of people who, 12:49.720 --> 12:54.140 like I've said, if we could get all the people here on one Sunday who say word of life is their 12:54.140 --> 13:02.000 church, we wouldn't fit them in. They just, it's the American way. It's the American culture. 13:02.860 --> 13:09.900 Serving God is a side thing. For these people, serving God was literally life or death, 13:09.900 --> 13:19.960 physically. And it didn't take long. The Romans made sure it was death because everybody who 13:19.960 --> 13:24.040 was called a Christian got thrown in the arena and animals and everything else went after them. 13:24.880 --> 13:31.180 So when they said, okay, we are going to make Jesus our savior, they had a whole 13:31.180 --> 13:37.020 different mindset than the American church. They were not in this to play games, get a, 13:38.100 --> 13:44.860 pick up a get out of hell free card, pick up some fire insurance so you don't have to go to hell and 13:44.860 --> 13:48.340 we'll just live the way we want to because now we're saved by grace and it doesn't make any 13:48.340 --> 13:55.400 difference what we do. And that was not in their head at all. This was life or death. So 13:57.120 --> 14:01.880 they were so serious about living for God. I don't think they had any demonic issues. 14:03.640 --> 14:11.980 They got, they just, they just submitted and resisted and live for God because they were living 14:11.980 --> 14:15.960 in a whole different realm. And we're going to talk about that in depth here as we get into this. 14:19.320 --> 14:24.800 So I'm going to real briefly begin by referring to some things that are in. We're going to 14:24.800 --> 14:30.360 have possibly two more, for sure one more booklet coming, possibly two more. I have a 14:30.360 --> 14:36.020 a smaller one than this that deals with the strong man concept and some of those things. 14:36.480 --> 14:43.000 That might be a separate booklet. But then as we're going through this, I'm reworking the one we have 14:43.000 --> 14:48.060 that's called demonic infestation and manifestation. It's kind of like the master booklet to the 14:48.060 --> 14:53.820 whole thing. I'm reworking that as we go and that'll be available at the end. But there's 14:53.820 --> 14:58.260 some things that are talked about in there that I'm going to briefly hit here in the next 14:58.260 --> 15:03.480 couple three pages. I want you to see the bottom line on page one. I will be stating 15:03.480 --> 15:10.560 demonic or demons most of the time in the statements. I am including fallen angels in 15:10.560 --> 15:18.360 with that because they have to be cast out the same way. But for sake of words, I'm not 15:18.360 --> 15:22.340 always going to say when a demon slash fallen angel, when a demon slash fall, I'll just 15:22.980 --> 15:27.400 call it demonic. So anyway, page two. A couple of brief review things. 15:28.620 --> 15:33.420 Demons don't live in our spirit or soul. They live in our body or our temple like we do. 15:34.520 --> 15:40.060 We are a spirit that lives in this body. The brain becomes what the interaction part, 15:40.420 --> 15:47.320 the part that connects the spirit realm to the physical realm. And I'll find out for sure 15:47.320 --> 15:53.980 when I get there. But according to the way Moses described it in Genesis, when God created man, 15:54.760 --> 16:04.380 he made the body out of dirt. And then he breathed that word breath as Ruach. It comes from 16:04.380 --> 16:11.580 spirit. The word spirit literally means to blow or wind breath. That's the word spirit. 16:12.220 --> 16:17.100 So when we're talking about demonic spirits, literal translation of the word spirit, 16:17.360 --> 16:27.440 it's demonic breath or wind. That's what the word spirit means. So when God breathed into the 16:27.440 --> 16:33.620 dirt body, he imparted spirit into it. The spirit is life. Without the spirit, 16:33.720 --> 16:40.640 the body can't live, James says. So the spirit is what brings life. And as he blew in, 16:40.640 --> 16:49.100 man became, it says, a living soul. The spirit started, the body came to life. The spirit started 16:49.100 --> 16:53.400 interacting with the body through the brain, mind, will, emotions, thinking, reasoning, 16:53.560 --> 16:59.220 laughing, feeling, soul. So we'll find out when we get there. But I think the basic 16:59.220 --> 17:05.140 chunk of the soul is wrapped up in the interface, the brain. We are spirit in this 17:05.140 --> 17:12.560 temple. And we have a soul or we have an interface that gives us the ability to work with our 17:13.880 --> 17:19.920 brother, Caseman calls it an earth suit. So it gives us the ability to interact in the 17:19.920 --> 17:24.140 physical realm. Otherwise, we'd be like all the other spirits in this room right now. 17:24.780 --> 17:27.200 You wouldn't see me. You wouldn't hear me. 17:29.860 --> 17:37.860 But they're all here. But they don't have an earth suit. I have one, you have one. So demons don't 17:37.860 --> 17:47.840 live in our spirit or our soul. They are their own spirit. But since this is a house, multiple 17:47.840 --> 17:52.700 spirits can live in a house. It acts as a tabernacle. Paul called it a temple, or Paul 17:52.700 --> 17:59.800 also called it a house. It's as, before we're born again, if we don't have any demon critters 17:59.800 --> 18:06.420 living with us, there's one spirit living in this house. Then I got saved and a second spirit 18:06.420 --> 18:11.400 came and lived in this house, the Holy Spirit. And he became the deposit of my salvation, 18:11.780 --> 18:19.120 according to Ephesians 1. So we know scripturally more than one spirit can live in a house. 18:20.040 --> 18:26.000 Now, of course, Jesus dealt with the big one, of course, is always Legion, which is like 6,000 18:26.000 --> 18:33.460 demons. Did I just go away? Am I okay? Were you messing with me? Okay. 18:34.600 --> 18:38.120 If I go away too often, I'll switch mics or something. 18:41.620 --> 18:48.280 Where Legion is referring to like 6,000. So spirits don't need a lot of space. 18:50.760 --> 18:56.760 Because you had one man who had 6,000 different entities in him, besides himself. 18:58.380 --> 19:07.060 So they can be very compact, small. They size is not an issue to spirit. Spirit can be the 19:07.060 --> 19:12.340 largest. Spirit can be small, whatever. It's not limited, but our bodies are not limited 19:12.340 --> 19:19.240 just to one. That's the point I want you to see. Letter B. This is just a little review. 19:19.840 --> 19:27.460 It's gone over very thoroughly in the Strongman booklet, and it'll be in the other one too. 19:28.320 --> 19:32.620 But the whole concept of more than one spirit being able to live in the body, 19:32.920 --> 19:38.720 there was one deliverance session early on when I was learning this. 19:39.740 --> 19:44.440 And it was that night that I explained where we had a whole group of us there. 19:46.600 --> 19:52.820 And they, the spirit in the person saw the big angels and they called them the mighty ones and 19:52.820 --> 19:59.020 so forth. I shared that story the first night. Well, that night, one of the people who was there 19:59.020 --> 20:10.300 said, ask, how do demons even get in bodies? How do they, why? Can they? What is this? 20:10.560 --> 20:16.320 How can they live there? Of course, we're green as grass, so we're just shooting for information. 20:16.920 --> 20:21.880 Now, the one thing that happened that night is the particular spirit that we were talking to 20:22.520 --> 20:25.760 and we'll talk about this later, but it fits in with the story. 20:26.720 --> 20:34.740 Not all spirits live on the same wavelength as far as maturity, intellect, and abilities. 20:36.200 --> 20:42.700 Now, of course, we see that with God's side. You've got Michael who lives on a whole different 20:42.700 --> 20:49.340 wavelength, runs whole different abilities than a lot of other spirits. Gabriel also, 20:49.900 --> 20:58.800 there's, they're not, they're spirits like you and us. And from my understanding, they grow and 20:58.800 --> 21:06.360 develop just like you and I do. It's not where, poof, you got an angel or you got a demon and 21:06.360 --> 21:09.980 they're fully loaded with everything they're ever going to know for the rest of their 21:09.980 --> 21:16.120 existence for eternity. God doesn't work that way. God is progressive. Everybody has to grow. 21:16.120 --> 21:22.220 Here a little, there a little, line upon line, precept upon precept, and that seems to be across 21:23.180 --> 21:31.140 all of creation, including it applies to God because God himself is still growing 21:32.360 --> 21:39.080 or he couldn't be called infinite. He'd be finite. If he reached his full, he'd be finite. 21:39.760 --> 21:44.560 But he's not finite. He's described as infinite, which means he's ever becoming more and 21:44.560 --> 21:51.920 expanding more. So this particular spirit that was talking out of this girl that night 21:53.120 --> 22:00.480 seemed more like to reason than the level of a child. So once I came through this and 22:00.480 --> 22:05.320 things settled down enough, I could do some research. It is amazing how that when you get 22:05.320 --> 22:12.080 into materials from the demonic side where they express and explain how the kingdom of 22:12.080 --> 22:18.200 darkness works, they know all this. It's we Christians who are kind of 22:18.200 --> 22:30.960 they know all this. For instance, nymphs and imps and so forth, the little creatures, 22:32.960 --> 22:38.760 they come from the perspective of these are little creatures who are still growing, 22:39.480 --> 22:46.920 still developing. They're like children. Well, we had one of those. And 22:48.460 --> 22:54.020 it gave us a bunch of information that I found out later the average demon won't give you. 22:54.760 --> 23:00.680 It was very what I would call naive, very innocent. 23:04.440 --> 23:09.400 It almost made you feel sorry for it because it was trapped in a realm it didn't want to be. 23:10.240 --> 23:11.900 And it did not know how to get out. 23:14.740 --> 23:20.200 So one of the things that we asked was, what gives you the right to live in this girl? 23:22.680 --> 23:27.720 And it tried to put it in words. It said the best to make a long story short. What it said 23:27.720 --> 23:35.380 is what the book says here, we look for a live hole. What in the world is a live hole? 23:37.760 --> 23:43.540 A live hole is a place in the physical realm, the physical body 23:44.420 --> 23:52.080 that either is a spot of darkness in the person because it's something that's not submitted to 23:52.080 --> 24:01.140 God. Jesus made an interesting statement. He said, if the light that is in you be darkness. 24:02.900 --> 24:04.600 How great is that darkness? 24:06.860 --> 24:14.540 So in other words, and this we learned later too, if you were to see me from a spirit realm 24:14.540 --> 24:22.580 side, I would be glowing. And so would you. The new age and so forth call it an aura. 24:23.620 --> 24:32.080 We all have an aura. Now, I call it the glory. We all are emanating the glory of God because 24:32.080 --> 24:38.040 the spirit now lives in us and our spirit has been made new. And in our original condition, 24:38.160 --> 24:43.600 we were clothed with glory before we sinned and fell short of the glory. 24:44.920 --> 24:49.000 So there is a glow that goes on, some more intense, some less. 24:49.760 --> 24:55.300 From my understanding, some Christians look like it just a barely a flicker in the night 24:57.780 --> 24:59.900 where other Christians are blinding. 25:01.800 --> 25:08.920 To where literally when when demons come up in a person and they look at you, 25:09.620 --> 25:14.620 I've watched them go. I can't see. 25:17.020 --> 25:24.860 Why can't you see? It's too bright. When I look at that person, it's just painful. I can't look 25:24.860 --> 25:33.000 at them. It's too bright. I can look at that one. It's not a problem. And it makes you go. 25:35.960 --> 25:38.300 Why are some brighter and why are some darker? 25:40.700 --> 25:46.860 Well, it goes with, you know, we have a term that, you know, I suppose it kind of explains it. 25:47.480 --> 25:49.480 Some people are more on fire than others. 25:50.840 --> 25:54.440 Some people got a few embers. There's light in there, but it's not a lot. 25:55.140 --> 26:00.640 And some people are just ablaze for God. Well, see, they see all that. 26:01.500 --> 26:10.580 And in our physical body, there's spots of darker or darkness where we are not submitted 26:11.140 --> 26:20.580 to God. The glory doesn't shine through our body in those spots. Paul refers to that in 1 Corinthians 11 26:21.160 --> 26:27.440 when he says that man is the glory of God. So the glory of God shines on man. It's supposed 26:27.440 --> 26:36.040 to shine through man and woman is the glory of man. And where the problem comes in is if man 26:36.040 --> 26:41.760 is not submitted to God, the light that's coming in doesn't reflect off into the woman and she 26:41.760 --> 26:47.700 becomes more dark in the relationship because the glory comes to him and on to her. It's the 26:47.700 --> 26:53.400 same concept here. When they're looking at us, if we have areas that are unsubmitted to God, 26:54.280 --> 26:59.180 they're darkness. There are the darkness in us that God says, Jesus said, there's light in you, 27:00.020 --> 27:06.860 but there's also darkness in you. How great is that darkness? They see the spot and that's 27:06.860 --> 27:16.240 where they go to live, the dark hole. Depending upon how big of our, it depends upon how poorly 27:16.240 --> 27:22.360 we're living for God because if we're really doing a really a poor job, 27:24.340 --> 27:30.900 we have lots of darkness. Even though the light of God is in there, he's just kind of flickering. 27:31.580 --> 27:37.680 Our spirit is just kind of flickering. Everything that has the life of God has light, everything. 27:39.100 --> 27:43.060 That's why many times people say, well, I saw a demon at night. I said, how did you know 27:43.060 --> 27:51.480 it was a demon? You've all heard this. You can see their eyes glow. Even though they're lost in sin, 27:52.780 --> 28:01.720 they are sustained by the word, the life of Jesus. He, everything that he created, he 28:01.720 --> 28:07.260 sustains and keeps it going. They are an eternal or immortal being, not eternal. Eternal goes 28:07.260 --> 28:14.200 both ways and mortal goes future. Demonic spirits will never die because they have the life of God 28:14.200 --> 28:23.380 in them. Same way you and I do. Our spirit has the life of God in us. Life always has a little 28:23.380 --> 28:30.240 bit of light. Always. And if you study the concept of light through the New Testament, 28:30.240 --> 28:33.980 you'll be amazed how light and God are almost synonymous. 28:35.960 --> 28:42.560 In him was the life and the life was the light. It's almost synonymous. It's just amazing. 28:44.280 --> 28:48.920 But anyway, so they look for dark holes. I'm getting excited, director. They look for dark 28:48.920 --> 28:55.760 holes in us. They call them live holes or this being called them live holes. They said, 28:55.760 --> 29:00.880 we either help the person to create one or we look for one and that's where we move in, 29:01.960 --> 29:07.580 in the physical body. So I didn't add the scripture here because the full explanation 29:07.580 --> 29:15.340 of it is in the next booklet. But I thought if this is God, this has got to be in the word. 29:17.160 --> 29:26.080 And I found it. It's in Ephesians 4.27. In fact, let's have a little fun 29:26.080 --> 29:32.020 in case we're not having fun yet. I know we won't get through this book tonight. So it's 29:32.620 --> 29:41.500 no reason to panic. Ephesians 4.27, if you've got your Bibles with gold there with me, 29:41.500 --> 29:48.500 if you would please, I want to show you something that once I saw this, I thought, 29:49.340 --> 29:55.640 well, look at there. That's exactly what this being was talking about. 30:03.220 --> 30:07.240 If you read it in, you can read it in whatever, if you read it in the new international version, 30:08.480 --> 30:13.140 if you start, Paul is giving all kinds of things we need to do here to grow. 30:13.140 --> 30:19.760 Verse 25, stop lying. Put off falsehood. Start speaking truthfully. Verse 26, 30:20.020 --> 30:24.460 in your anger, do not sin. Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry. 30:26.440 --> 30:32.920 And do not give the devil a foothold. Then verse 28, he who has been stealing must 30:32.920 --> 30:37.520 steal no more, etc. That's how the NIV reads it. The amplified reads it. 30:40.830 --> 30:46.530 When angry, do not sin. Do not ever let your wrath, your exasperation, your fury, 30:46.830 --> 30:52.990 your indignation last until the sun goes down. Leave no such room or foothold for the devil. 30:53.430 --> 31:01.410 Give no opportunity to him. The New King James says, do not let the sun go down on your wrath, 31:01.670 --> 31:07.750 nor give place to the devil. So, different commentators disagree on 31:08.390 --> 31:14.630 is the anger what gives place to the devil, or was that just another point that Paul was making? 31:14.830 --> 31:20.070 Some say yes, because the way he worded it. Don't let the sun go down on your wrath, 31:21.730 --> 31:27.330 nor give place to the devil is how the King James reads it. The amplified says, 31:27.750 --> 31:34.490 leave no room or foothold for the devil. So, you're going to have to figure that out yourself. 31:36.630 --> 31:44.530 Is anger the only thing that gives place to the devil? The NIV is not always the most accurate. 31:45.630 --> 31:48.970 So, just keep that in mind. Do not let the sun go down where you're still angry, 31:49.150 --> 31:53.990 and do not give the devil a foothold. And could be, well, you're angry, 31:54.110 --> 31:57.270 so now you're giving him a foothold, or and could be, and by the way, 31:57.290 --> 32:01.630 I've got another point to make. So, I'm not sure which one. But if you look at, 32:01.630 --> 32:10.750 do not give the devil a foothold. The King James, I believe, says the word place. 32:12.210 --> 32:18.790 The word place in the Greek, listen to this, do not give the devil a place. 32:19.950 --> 32:29.010 It's a spot, general in space. Now put this to a human body. And what I just told you, 32:29.010 --> 32:37.150 a live hole, or a dark spot. A place is a spot, general in space, could be anywhere, 32:38.010 --> 32:44.930 but limited by occupancy. So, it's not, it's got limits to it. 32:46.110 --> 32:56.190 It is a location, like a position, or a home. It's an opportunity. It's a license. 32:57.650 --> 33:13.240 It's a room. Looking for a hole, a spot. 33:15.960 --> 33:22.120 Don't give the devil a hole. Don't give him a spot. Diablos is the word for devil there. 33:47.060 --> 33:54.180 It means a traducer, especially Satan, a false accuser, a slanderer. 33:56.340 --> 34:00.900 Diablos, don't give Diablos a spot in your temple. 34:03.100 --> 34:08.560 Now, if you tie it to the previous verse, like some commentators do, they say, 34:08.660 --> 34:14.240 well, letting the sun go down in your anger is what gives Diablos the ability to come 34:14.240 --> 34:21.300 and move into your temple. He is a slanderer. He's a traducer. He's a deceiver. 34:22.180 --> 34:25.260 Now, this part I think is interesting, and it's one of the reasons I kind of tie him 34:25.260 --> 34:28.880 together. But it could stand on its own where Paul is just saying, 34:29.340 --> 34:33.240 just plain don't give the devil a spot, and we're going to talk about how we could do that as 34:33.240 --> 34:40.960 we go on. But I find this interesting, letting the sun go down on your anger. 34:42.740 --> 34:45.720 So you're upset about something. You're angry about something. 34:48.400 --> 34:53.380 I give people the benefit of the doubt. Let's give them 24 hours, because if somebody gets 34:53.380 --> 35:00.620 angry about something after the sunset like now, well, they can stew on that for almost 24 hours 35:00.620 --> 35:07.560 for the sunsets again. Or if I get angry at three in the afternoon in the winter, I really 35:07.560 --> 35:14.240 got to deal with this quickly, because the sun's going to set early. So I kind of come from the 35:14.240 --> 35:20.640 angle of 24 hours. However it works, before the sun, you know, if you can deal with it 35:20.640 --> 35:25.980 quickly, so be it. But you better not go longer than a 24 hour cycle of the sun rising and setting. 35:27.360 --> 35:32.680 Now, something that's interesting is this, going with that scripture. If you're angry 35:32.680 --> 35:37.360 with someone about something, it's usually someone about something. If you're angry, 35:38.080 --> 35:47.580 and you don't deal with that, and you go to sleep, your perception of that person and 35:47.580 --> 35:57.220 the situation will hugely change by morning. And it doesn't change for the better. 35:58.620 --> 36:05.820 You start getting negative thoughts about them. You start getting all kinds of questions. 36:07.200 --> 36:10.280 Well, maybe they've been doing this all the time, and I just haven't been seeing it. 36:10.740 --> 36:17.520 What gives them the right? I mean, and you get all this exactly the description 36:17.520 --> 36:30.080 of Diablos. You get all this accusation, false accusations, slandering and producing, 36:31.610 --> 36:42.100 going inside of you. And if you let this brew two, three days, the whole concept of 36:42.620 --> 36:50.780 you know what? I am upset. I'm angry. And I'm just not dealing with this. 36:52.380 --> 36:55.880 If you let this go, it will totally change you. 36:56.860 --> 37:02.880 Treduce means, the Diablos is called a traducer, to expose, to shame or blame, 37:03.300 --> 37:08.280 by means of falsehood and misrepresentation. 37:09.460 --> 37:16.880 So, when you go to sleep, angry, you haven't started to resolve this yet. 37:17.600 --> 37:24.180 You just go to sleep and you're mad. By morning, your thoughts and feelings 37:24.180 --> 37:29.800 towards the person and the situation will be blame, and there will be falsehood 37:31.380 --> 37:37.320 and misrepresentation that will have taken hold of you. You will be believing lies already. 37:37.320 --> 37:43.060 And the longer you let it go, the more lies you'll believe, because that's what Diablos does. 37:44.460 --> 37:50.680 And you gave him access to you by not dealing with your anger before the sun went down. 37:51.280 --> 37:58.320 Or in other words, you went to sleep on it. He works when we're sleeping. 38:00.480 --> 38:10.440 What does he look for? Well, evidently, unresolved anger is a black hole. It's a spot. 38:12.420 --> 38:19.640 We're not in righteousness. And he slips right into that spot and starts whispering to us, 38:19.720 --> 38:26.920 from inside the temple, and starts talking to us. And everything he's saying 38:26.920 --> 38:32.740 is going to be to blame the other person, to slander the other person, to bring falsehood 38:32.740 --> 38:38.300 about the other person on and on and on. I think they're tied together, but they may not be. 38:40.160 --> 38:45.680 It might be a standalone statement of you just don't give place to the devil and going 38:45.680 --> 38:49.460 to sleep in your anger is a way of doing it, but there's other ways of doing it too. 38:52.540 --> 38:59.380 Go to page three. So if they can get in, does that mean if they get into a Christian that 38:59.380 --> 39:03.540 they now own us, we're possessed? This is a question that comes up so often. Can a Christian 39:03.540 --> 39:11.220 be demon possessed? When a demon has access to our temple, do they now possess us? Absolutely 39:11.220 --> 39:21.120 not. No, possession means ownership. As Christians were bought by the blood, we are owned by our 39:21.120 --> 39:29.240 Heavenly Father. We are not our own. We are His. So if a Christian is struggling with a demon, 39:29.340 --> 39:38.580 they are not possessed. You can't be owned by two owners at the same time. You can't 39:38.580 --> 39:42.940 have God owning you by the blood of Jesus and the devil owning you. Can't be done. 39:44.920 --> 39:53.460 God redeemed us or bought us back from the kingdom of darkness, the devil. So we're now His bought 39:53.460 --> 39:57.260 by the blood, not with silver or gold or perishable things, but by the blood of Jesus. 39:57.680 --> 40:01.240 Well, when you buy something back, the other person no longer owns it. 40:02.480 --> 40:09.160 So if you, if a person is struggling with having some issues, they're not possessed. Possessed and 40:09.160 --> 40:16.620 speaks of ownership and it gives a number of reasons there and so forth. Jump over to page four. 40:18.360 --> 40:25.380 However, Christians, I believe, can be demonized, letter B or letter C. We can give place or 40:25.380 --> 40:30.080 we can give a spot to the devil in our physical body, like it says in C there and there it 40:30.080 --> 40:35.120 says Ephesians 4, 27 doesn't open it up like it will in the next booklet, but it states it. 40:36.000 --> 40:42.120 Demonized is found in the gospels. It's found two or three times in Acts. And what it means is when 40:42.120 --> 40:48.640 people would come to Jesus with a demon, they would, the scripture calls them demonized. 40:49.480 --> 40:53.460 Uses the word possessed, but it's actually demonized is the actual Greek word. 40:54.820 --> 41:05.660 Demonized is a word that has a range from like one to ten. It's like you have blue food coloring in a 41:05.660 --> 41:15.180 cake. You can have a little bit, just one drop, and it barely, you can see the blue, or you can 41:15.180 --> 41:20.880 just squirt that in there and you got a ten. This, this cake, I mean this baby is blue. 41:22.140 --> 41:29.640 That's demonized. You can be very mildly affected all the way over to severely affected, according 41:29.640 --> 41:40.280 to that word. They are in there harassing you, trying to hold you in bondage, etc. And or you 41:40.280 --> 41:45.880 can give place to the devil. That's how they get into our temple. And we'll go more into 41:45.880 --> 41:50.600 this, but there is the scriptural, from my understanding, the scriptural basis. Now, yes, 41:50.680 --> 41:58.900 I understand that demonized is used mostly in the gospels. It was used twice in acts, 41:59.060 --> 42:02.700 one dealing with twice that I'm thinking of. I think it was three times, but twice I'm thinking 42:02.700 --> 42:08.540 of. One is with the girl of divination who was following Paul, and these are men of God, 42:09.380 --> 42:15.520 she was demonized. And then there's a scripture where Philip is out ministering. Philip was 42:15.520 --> 42:21.420 an evangelist. And as he was ministering, he was dealing with people who were demonized and 42:21.420 --> 42:26.720 were casting out demons. So does that mean they were saved? And then the demons manifested, 42:26.980 --> 42:31.940 or were they manifesting before they were saved? We don't know. But it speaks of demonized, 42:32.000 --> 42:37.180 and in that particular case, it could be referring to Christians. So if someone is 42:37.180 --> 42:46.720 struggling with demons, we either gave place to them and let them in, or some kind of demonization 42:46.720 --> 42:51.060 thing happened where they gained access, whether it be generational sins, sins of the fathers. 42:52.340 --> 42:57.780 Demonized can also be talking about giving place. But there are, what my whole point is, 42:57.920 --> 43:05.500 is there are references to people who can have demons in the New Testament without being owned, 43:06.680 --> 43:15.220 without being truly owned by the devil. So let's move on. Do Christians need ongoing deliverance? 43:16.700 --> 43:23.960 This has become an issue, and I spend I think 10 pages on it here. Quite a few. Six, seven, 43:24.080 --> 43:29.880 whatever. By ongoing deliverance, I'm referring to being prayed over by others and having 43:29.880 --> 43:35.860 someone cast something cast out on an ongoing basis. In other words, every, every week, every 43:35.860 --> 43:41.660 other week, every third week, they got to have something cast out. Do Christians need this? 43:41.860 --> 43:48.140 Absolutely not. It is not scriptural. You cannot find it in the word. It's just not there. 43:49.040 --> 43:53.040 Do we need ongoing sanctification? Absolutely. 43:55.280 --> 43:59.460 We need to, I mean, this is going to be a lifetime job. We got to grow. We got to change. 44:01.160 --> 44:06.120 As we make the correct choices concerning our lives and sin, if there are demons there, 44:06.240 --> 44:13.900 they'll leave. What happens with the, the, what I saw happen right out of the gates early on, 44:14.020 --> 44:19.020 and of course I'm, I'm dumb as a rock and, and I'm seeing stuff I don't like and I don't 44:19.020 --> 44:21.540 know what to do with, because I don't know what the Bible says about it and 44:22.120 --> 44:26.960 et cetera. So I'm just flying by the seat of my pants. But it became an attention 44:26.960 --> 44:31.840 getting thing for certain people. Some people like to get attention. 44:33.140 --> 44:35.680 And negative attention is better than no attention at all. 44:37.440 --> 44:39.740 So they were always having demon problems. 44:41.060 --> 44:45.080 Oh pastor, I don't know what to do. If you prayed over me and I was just great for about 44:45.080 --> 44:50.200 three days, and then it felt like it came back and what do I do? Do we need to get it 44:50.200 --> 44:55.240 out again? And, and then you run into the people who like to fake manifestations. 45:01.830 --> 45:07.470 And you feel in your gut and it's like, knock it off. This is not real. 45:10.590 --> 45:19.470 But it's attention. You know, I had one lady just never forget. She would get in this. It's 45:19.470 --> 45:27.350 like she could open her mouth like, wow. And she would claim that demons were manifesting. 45:27.550 --> 45:34.310 And she'd open her mouth and put her head back and kind of groan. And it's like, 45:37.460 --> 45:41.620 I went with it long enough to know, you know what, this ain't real. 45:42.480 --> 45:49.140 You're drumming something up here. So I found out that if you get into casting things out 45:49.140 --> 45:59.940 too readily, the people with a weakness towards that will just line up on a continual basis. 46:01.160 --> 46:05.300 Well, I had some freedom and I lost it or I'm feeling better. Maybe another round would help me 46:05.300 --> 46:09.480 and you just goes on and goes on and goes on. Problem is it's not in the Bible. 46:11.500 --> 46:14.840 And when we start doing stuff that's not in the Bible, that's when it gets weird 46:14.840 --> 46:20.120 and you get into false doctrine. And then it gets destructive, gets dangerous. 46:21.960 --> 46:26.180 A2, we should be living free from the kingdom of darkness. Scripturally sin and the kingdom of 46:26.180 --> 46:31.880 darkness have no authority over us. We don't need ongoing deliverance. We need to mature and take 46:31.880 --> 46:39.260 our stand in Christ. Letter B, however, if we continue living in a way that is not in 46:39.260 --> 46:48.140 submission to God, we can have ongoing problems. It's not that some of these Christians don't have 46:48.140 --> 46:54.740 real problems, but the fix is not casting the spirit out. The fix is making them grow up. 46:55.600 --> 46:58.660 That's the whole job of the five-fold ministry, by the way, in Ephesians 46:59.860 --> 47:04.380 to mature the saints. He says it three times. It's the whole purpose for the five-fold 47:04.380 --> 47:09.640 ministries to get us to grow up. And casting demons out doesn't make people grow. 47:11.580 --> 47:16.420 It's kind of like driving through McDonald's and getting your quick order up and let's get 47:16.420 --> 47:22.940 this fixed so I can go on in life. We need to grow. I talked there. Letter C, it's not found 47:22.940 --> 47:29.320 in Scripture. There's a couple of indicators that it could happen, but it's just really, 47:29.320 --> 47:33.240 really not found in Scripture that Christians need ongoing deliverance. 47:34.640 --> 47:39.700 So page six at the top, I give my opinion. I can't speak around the world about the world 47:39.700 --> 47:44.300 because I haven't been around the world. But in my opinion, in the United States, 47:44.300 --> 47:49.260 I believe there's way too many believers that are half-hearted in their life for God, 47:49.400 --> 47:54.680 their lukewarm, uncommitted, lazy, complacent, undisciplined, living, undisciplined 47:54.680 --> 48:01.400 Christians' lives. There's many Christians who openly live in both kingdoms at the same time. Now, 48:01.420 --> 48:06.140 whether they're still in God's kingdom or not is not for me to judge. But they do what the world 48:06.140 --> 48:10.660 does and they live the way the world lives and they're Christians, quote unquote. 48:14.780 --> 48:18.580 We've been taught a cheap grace that says we can live and do whatever we want and we're 48:18.580 --> 48:22.560 still saved. And I believe this is a lie and a deception. It's entered the church 48:22.560 --> 48:28.520 and this is what gives place to people who may be saved because they're not submitting themselves to 48:28.520 --> 48:33.740 God's kingdom. They're actually submitting themselves to the other kingdom. Then it talks about 48:33.740 --> 48:38.200 spiritual, some growth there, soul growth, spiritual growth, whatever you want to call it. 48:38.580 --> 48:47.620 It's a natural progression. When we get born again, we're believers. The first thing Jesus 48:47.620 --> 48:54.360 will do is he says, lay down your life and follow me. You've lost 90% or more of the American 48:54.360 --> 49:03.070 Christians right there because American Christians don't want to lay down anything to follow Jesus. 49:04.430 --> 49:10.330 They want to get to heaven, but they want to live their life their way. And to be a follower, 49:10.610 --> 49:14.510 he says, you're going to be a follower of me. You have to pick up your cross. Cross speaks 49:14.510 --> 49:21.150 of death to self. So there's some things that have to start happening. We have to start learning to obey 49:21.150 --> 49:27.010 and then discipleship is a follower like on steroids. It just takes it to a whole new level. 49:27.530 --> 49:33.650 A follower, Jesus says, and there's scriptures on page seven that lay out the basic qualifications 49:33.650 --> 49:41.770 of a follower and a disciple, but a follower is told they have to sever some relationships. 49:43.710 --> 49:49.010 A disciple is told you have to kill certain relationships. You can't just 49:49.610 --> 49:53.290 sever them. They have to end. They have to be over if you're going to be a disciple. 49:54.790 --> 50:00.910 The problem is the American church has gotten into making believers and not disciples. 50:02.530 --> 50:06.670 And I think that's our problem. Why we have so much demonic stuff going on 50:06.670 --> 50:14.130 in American Christians, because we got them saved. And if we can just keep them coming to church and 50:14.130 --> 50:21.950 bringing their kids, we're happy. And the whole thing of let's disciple them. 50:24.110 --> 50:30.490 What is God working on you right now that he's asking you to die to? He wants it out of your 50:30.490 --> 50:38.810 life. Knock it off. Oh, that's a really negative message. That's the gospel. 50:40.410 --> 50:48.710 Because as we die to it, we live more. That's the gospel. Death brings life, Roman 6. 50:51.250 --> 50:57.070 The American church doesn't like that message. Don't tell me what I have to do to be saved. 50:59.990 --> 51:04.190 Well, apparently to be saved all you do is ask Jesus to forgive your sins, believe in your heart, 51:04.310 --> 51:09.550 he rose from the dead and confess it with your mouth. You're in now. You're a believer. 51:10.850 --> 51:14.530 But I can tell you what you have to do to be a follower and disciple. And those scriptures 51:14.530 --> 51:21.710 are on the next page. It lays it out really plainly. And I think the lack of that is what's 51:21.710 --> 51:28.030 causing the church in America. You wouldn't believe the number of people who are Christians, 51:28.310 --> 51:34.390 who are tormented by demonic spirits somehow in America. They see them at night. They hear them. 51:34.910 --> 51:44.810 They smell them. They're trying to do things to women. I could just go on with stories and 51:44.810 --> 51:50.330 stories. And they're Christians. And I'm trying to live for God. And why can they do this? 51:50.330 --> 52:00.380 And well, the reason is you haven't grown sufficiently. To begin with, I thought, well, 52:00.420 --> 52:03.500 we just got to cast them out. We just got to get rid of this. And it's just, 52:03.820 --> 52:08.920 it's like a revolving door. You kick them out and they come back in. You kick them out. 52:09.040 --> 52:13.160 There's worse. You kick them out, they come back in. And it's like, I'm missing something here. 52:14.280 --> 52:19.820 Finally, I realized they're not holding their ground. You're getting them out, 52:19.820 --> 52:26.500 but they're not keeping them out because they're not mature enough to keep them out. 52:26.620 --> 52:31.120 They're not submitted enough to God to keep them out. They're not serious enough about 52:31.120 --> 52:36.820 living their Christian life to keep them out. It's just kind of a half-hearted living for 52:36.820 --> 52:41.560 God. And as a result, their physical body literally becomes a revolving door. 52:43.600 --> 52:48.200 Page 8, the top. Deliverance is not the key to overcoming sin in our lives. 52:49.000 --> 52:55.420 Obedience is. Sanctification is. Number two, it's the growth and maturity that brings us 52:55.420 --> 53:01.460 to a point where we're not struggling to overcome sin and the demonic. First, John 2 53:01.460 --> 53:06.780 talks about the child, the young man who's learning how to overcome the evil or the wicked 53:06.780 --> 53:12.900 one and the father. There's a growth pattern there. We're not supposed to remain children, 53:12.920 --> 53:18.040 nor are we supposed to remain young men. We're all supposed to become mature, be perfect or 53:18.040 --> 53:24.420 mature, complete like your heavenly father is, Jesus said. And there's a growth process there 53:24.420 --> 53:29.320 that we need to do. In the American church, we have settled on the end goal of making believers, 53:29.420 --> 53:35.480 letter I. And I give characteristics of what I see the typical American church to be. 53:36.200 --> 53:42.460 They're not very flattering, but they really line up with five of the seven churches in 53:42.460 --> 53:48.340 Revelation. It's amazing when you just take these characteristics and go home and read through 53:48.340 --> 53:54.400 the first three chapters of the book of Revelation, the last day's characteristics of the church, 53:54.540 --> 53:58.260 seven different churches. You'd be amazed how many of these characteristics are just there. 53:58.340 --> 54:03.380 He said it there. Jesus was not thrilled with the last day's church. And I think he's 54:03.380 --> 54:09.240 really less thrilled with the American church. You know, I heard not long go of, because we have 54:09.240 --> 54:17.140 missionaries coming to evangelize America now. And I heard one, he came from Africa, 54:17.140 --> 54:21.120 he was a black man. He was coming for the first time in American church and asked him to come 54:21.120 --> 54:26.320 and speak. He said, while I'm flying across the Atlantic, the Holy Spirit started speaking 54:26.320 --> 54:33.960 to me. And he said, don't pick up what the American church is like. 54:35.980 --> 54:39.360 He said, I'm sending you there to bring something different. 54:40.000 --> 54:44.280 Don't cater to what they want. Bring what I'm telling you to bring. 54:45.220 --> 54:49.840 And he said, well, give it to me. And he said a bunch of things. But when he 54:49.840 --> 54:54.720 was sharing it, he said, I summed it up in one thing. He said, I could sum up everything 54:55.280 --> 54:59.480 the Holy Spirit was telling me about the American church. American church is very selfish, 55:01.000 --> 55:07.860 very selfish, very immature. That's the American church. We're not committed to much of anything. 55:09.620 --> 55:15.140 10 to 15 percent of the people do all the work and they're just happy if other people show up 55:15.140 --> 55:22.820 because we're content with making believers, not disciples. It should be 85 to 90 percent of 55:22.820 --> 55:28.840 the people are involved doing something, serving God and the 10, 15 percent are just the new babies 55:28.840 --> 55:33.680 who are just learning this thing. But it's the opposite because the American church is very lazy. 55:33.880 --> 55:40.960 We're very selfish.
