Good evening everybody. Good evening to you who are live streaming. Thank you for joining us. We are working out of this book. It's called Holding Our Land in Temple. It should be online to where you can have a digital copy of it. For those of you that are here, if you have not received a copy of this, there's some laying over here on this side. If you forgot yours, you can just watch along because they're going to be scrolling it. And you can just follow on the screens. But otherwise, go ahead. If you've never grabbed a copy of it, go ahead and grab a copy. We are on page 20. And I know it's been a few weeks since we've looked at this, but we're not going to review much. I'll just give you the thought of this book. It's on page one. How to stay free from demonic problems, how to hold our land, our land being, our physical body. And it's comparing the Israelites and them conquering their promised land, the principles there to us conquering our promised land or our body. The picture of that is 1st Corinthians 10, 1 through 13. The overall emphasis of the book is self-deliverance to keep ourself clean. Let me give you the question and then I can give the answer. It makes more sense. I had someone say they got a hold of me since our last meeting and in between here they got a hold of me. And they said, I think I need deliverance. I said, okay, you might. What are you doing for self-deliverance? And they said, I don't know how, even though they had been here a number of times during that part of the series. I said, go back and listen to it again, reread the material. And that's not just for them. This has to get past our head into our heart. And it's easy to get it in the head. And then three weeks later we can't even remember. Well, then it's time to revisit it and get it to drop into the heart. Because if you can't remember how to set yourself free, you won't know how to keep yourself free because you won't remember that either. So it's time for review. It's time to go back and study to show yourself approved to be a workman. So we're not going to do a lot of review. It's all online. This book is written fairly well, so you can actually just read it and you should be able to get it. Some I do just kind of like an outline form. This one is not so much that way. So page 20. What gives demons access to us? And we're talking two types of access here. Because we're trying to hold on to the land when Jesus sets us free, we want to stay free. So we're trying to hold on to the land. So now that we know how to work self-deliverance and get free, we're taking the next step of how do we stay free? How do we hold that land? Well, how did they get access to us to begin with? Okay, so that's where we're at at this point. And we're talking two types. Outward access, where they never got inside of us. They just worked us from the outside versus inward access, which that's where they get inside. So number one, their first paragraph, outward access or access to us outwardly. This is when they can influence us, talk to us, agree with our flesh and tempting us, align situations, circumstances, harass us, etc. But they never gain permanent access to our fleshly temple. This is the counterpart to the Holy Spirit coming upon or being with someone. And I give three examples here of demonic outward access, the temptation of Jesus. Satan never got bodily access to him. But he did still tempt him. The second one, when the devil spoke through Peter, there's no scriptural evidence that Peter had a demon. But the idea, the thought he had, was definitely demonically based. That's why Jesus addressed it as such. He said, Satan get behind me. But there's no evidence that Satan was in Peter. He just said something to him that made a lot of sense to Peter. So he blurted it, you know. And Jesus said, yeah, I know where that's coming from. And the third one is in John 8, where the teachers of the law, the Pharisees and the Jews, they were confronting Jesus. Again, were they demon filled? They might have been. It doesn't say, there's no physical manifest, there's no evidence that there was a physical manifestation of a demon there. Yet Jesus states these people are under the devil's demonic influence. Were they inhabited? I don't know. It doesn't say that. So the one thing that we haven't gotten to yet that we're going to talk about. But here is a good point to bring in, a place to bring it up. Just because someone is feeling something, thinking something comes up with something doesn't mean they have a demon. It could be influencing them from the outside. It's the counterpart of how God uses angels with us. Angels can speak to us. Angels can give us some answers. Angels can talk to us, but they don't inhabit us. They work from the outside. Well, demons can do that too. The Holy Spirit inhabits us, but angels don't necessarily do that. But for whatever reason, and again, I think it's just lack of understanding, when people struggle with anything, they think they need something cast out. Well, what makes you think it's in you? When you look at scripture, when something was in a person, somehow there was a manifestation that's like, oh, I see you. Like a little boy who throws himself into the fire. Yep, that's not normal. There's different manifestations. I like with the girl who was using divination with Paul, when he called her out. She wasn't saying anything wrong, but she just kept... Behold these two wonderful people of God. Pay attention to them. It was just aggravating. And it took a little bit. It says, after a few days, it took a little bit for them to recognize, you know what? This isn't God. This is something else speaking through her. So she had that when you have something inside of you, I want to see some form of manifestation. It can be subtle. It doesn't have to be, you know, you're beating your head on the floor and crawling across the floor like a snake. It doesn't have to be that. It can be subtle. But again, it goes back to what we talked about earlier. It's not a badge of honor for Christians to have demons. And in our society, it's almost become one. I've had a demon. That's not the way it's supposed to work. Something was wrong because you had one or you had 10 or whatever. It's not a badge of honor that Christians have demons. And it's almost looked like, well, I had to go to this meeting, get demons cast out. Well, what in the world? Why did you have demons? You're not supposed to have demons as a Christian. It's not normal. It's not, it's not, it should not be acceptable in our minds. But it's, for whatever reason, drama or spectacular or whatever, it seems to go there. So just understand, spirits can speak to us from the outside. They don't have to be inside. The spirit realm can speak to us and we hear it. Okay, bottom paragraph. Outward access is when demons can affect us, but they don't have the right to live in us. In some cases, the sin may need to be dealt with for the demonic influence to be gotten off, but it doesn't necessarily mean they're inside. They'll have to, other times we'll simply need to take a stand against them, but we're not inhabited or infested. The word infested comes from the guy who helped mentor me. He always talked about demons either infesting us or trespassing. They were squatters on land they weren't supposed to be on. So that was kind of his thought of how he pictured it. So there's outward access. What gives demons outward access to us? Probably just the idea we're living on earth. It has nothing to do with sin or Satan couldn't have touched Jesus and tempted him. And that wasn't the only time he went after Jesus because if you read the end in Matthew 4, especially the amplified makes it plain that when he was done tempting him, he departed and waited for an opportune season or time. He watched him. What in the world makes this guy tick? Is this the Messiah? Is it not the Messiah? Who is this? So he just kind of stood back and studied him. But you can bet your life he went back after him again. I'm sure he was after him in the garden. I'm sure he was. When his flesh was saying, I don't want to do this, there was an outside influence going, you don't have to do this. And I'm sure he was working with it there, even though scripture doesn't say it. If Satan missed that opportunity, he's really, really dumb because that was an opportunity. I'm pretty sure he was working there. So there's outside access that we are living in a demon infested world. And we just have to be aware. They will speak to us. They will try to give us input. They will try to give us desires. They will try to tempt us. Doesn't mean they're in us, but they're here. Okay. Number two, inward access is when they have gained legal right to get inside our bodies and take up residence. Now this next line is written wrong. So you might want to make a note here to rewrite that somehow. I said, I don't know what gives them legal right to move to an outward, move from an outward influence to an inward access, but it happens. And then I, in the next page, I say, this is what gives them the right to do that. It's like, yeah, I didn't write that right. What I was trying to say there is I don't know, for instance, let's say you're being tempted to, let's use something simple, lie. And they're working on you from the outside and they're tempting you to lie and tempting you to lie. Finally, you lie and then you lie again and then you lie some more. Well, at some point, it crosses over from outside to now they have legal right to inside and they move in. When is that crossover point? I'm not sure. I don't know. That's what I was trying to say. And I didn't take enough time to say it. But that's what I, what is the crossover point that gives them access that changes the access from the outside to give them access to the inside? I don't know, but it, it happens. One of the ways I'm aware of this being scripturally possible is via incorrectly handling anger. Ephesians 4, 27. Another way is when we submit ourselves to the kingdom of darkness in any area of our lives. Romans 6 talks about that. Ephesians 2 talks about people who were under that influence. So, however, once they have bodily access to us, now they have much more effect in, excuse me, effect and control. And there's some examples I have there of demon speaking through us, the man with legion, the boy with the deaf and dumb spirit, ministry of Philip when he was dealing with people who had demonic problems inside. There's just a number of examples if you want to read them. Once a demon has the right to take a resident in us, residents in us, they will literally have to be cast out. Now you need deliverance. They need to come out of you because they're in you. If they haven't gained inward access, they don't need to be cast out because they're not in. If they are still outside our body, our temple, then we need to take a stand against them like Paul instructed and Jesus did in Matthew 4 and his temptation. If they have gained inward access, the big question is what happened that has given them access to us? Okay, that has to be somehow the Holy Spirit needs to show us some things there. Because if he doesn't, we're going to end up getting them out and we'll be empty, swept and garnished, like it talks about the end of the book. I don't know if we'll get that far tonight, but we'll be empty, swept and garnished and they will come right back in and it'll be worse. So there's always a big key if the house has a window open and it's 20 below and you keep turning the thermostat up saying it's not warm in here. At some point you need to step back and ask why. Is the furnace working? Yes. Is heat coming out of the registers? Yes. Why is it cold in here? Close the window. Simple in the physical, but somehow transitioning that thought over to spiritual things, people struggle with that. You got demonic problems, you're living for God, you're in the Word every day, you're trying to live for God, but you just know you have problems. At some point you need to back up and say why. And the Holy Spirit will show us why. There's some reason they gained access. We can be prayed over and go through delivered sessions, but if we don't deal with the things that gave them access, they're just going to keep coming back and it's going to be a rotating door and it's like those people go down because every time they come back, it gets worse. Here is the access issues. Did you get involved in some kind of personal sin that you gave yourself over to? I'm not talking about a mistake. I'm not. You've got the Calvinists and you've got the Armenians. The Calvinists say it doesn't make any difference. What you do, you can never lose your salvation. You live for God the rest of your life. I mean, you'll go to heaven no matter how you live the rest of your life. So once saved, always saved, eternal security, that whole thing comes out of the Calvinist camp. The Armenian camp, which as far as I'm concerned is in that's in one ditch, and this is over in the other ditch. If you do anything wrong, you better deal with it immediately, quickly, because if Jesus comes before you do, you're lost. And it's like, boy, you talk about how people live under fear. It's like, grace doesn't cover nothing here, you know? What about Hebrews 9, where it talks about all our sins are covered if they're sins of ignorance? It's the willful stuff we have to watch out for, which is a combination of Armenianism. Bring that up in the middle of the road, which says, you can't just live the way you want to, and it's all good with God. There's some things you got to deal with. And you bring the Calvinists thought up in the road, which says, if you don't deal with this correctly, yeah, there is a hell, but let's get out of fear. Let's not be freaked out every day. Like, oh God, what if I die? Would I make heaven? Would I make heaven? See, that's what the Calvinists were trying to combat. All the fear that people had of, oh, I don't know if I'm saved. So they came up with eternal security, one saved, all we saved, which as far as I'm concerned is false teaching. But they were trying to combat the other side, which said, you made a mistake? Have you repented? You could be going to hell. Well, that's just as goofy. It's just, I think God's grace is bigger than that. So we bring the two together and we try to get on the road. If we have been involved in some personal sin that we are not dealing with, it becomes willful. We keep going back. It will give them access. And we'll see that in the pictures here that we read in the scriptures coming. That's one. And I've had people say, I, okay, I'll quote one person. They said, I love your church until you said some, I said something like that. If you are in willful sin and you're not doing anything about it, to overcome it, to beat it, you are playing with your salvation. You could lose it. They said, I love your church until you said that it scared me so bad that I'm not coming back. I said, you know, so sometimes I hear no evil, see no evil. I want to stay dumb to everything. So I asked them, I said, well, what's the big willful sin you're in? Why are you so afraid that willful sin will take you to hell? What are you doing? Well, they didn't own anything. You know, of course, they probably wouldn't. But that's the key there. You got nothing to be afraid of if you're trying to live for God, honestly. If you're playing a game, well, yeah, you should be afraid. It's not a game. Another way of access is if a curse has been put on us, but there too to gain inward access, the question remains, what gave that curse the power to do it? Because the Old Testament picture, the New Testament picture, is a curse cannot come and rest on someone undeservedly. There's got to be an opening. And number three, if it's a generational or sense of the father's issue, that can give access to inward stuff. That gets dealt with differently. We will go through that line by line, blow by blow in the future. I'm just trying to lay out here what can get them inside us. The core of our freedom is in closing the door into our life, the access problem. Okay, so let's go to page 22. And we're going to talk about two pictures here from the Old Testament. One is the corporate anointing picture. And then the next one is going to be the individual anointing picture of freedom and staying free and so forth. This is the corporate picture, the corporate anointing. In other words, the whole body, the whole church, the whole everything. Here's the picture of that in the Old Testament. So, Joshua 1. Here's the promise. Moses, my servant is dead, now therefore arise. Go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving them, the children of Israel. Every place the soul of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses. So, there is Joshua's Ramah word. There is a reiteration of the Ramah word to the children of Israel. I will give you the promised land. You got to go take it. Verse 5. No man, now in the New Testament picture here, the application would be a demonic being or a fallen angel. But in the Old Testament it was man. They were dealing with human enemies to get into the promised land. Put in your mind demons. No man or no demon shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Verse 6. Be strong and be of good courage. Verse 7. Be strong and be very courageous. Verse 9. Be strong and of good courage. Do not be afraid. Do not be dismayed. For the Lord God is with you wherever you go. The point to make there is there is nothing in us or in our life we can't overcome. Nothing. Be strong, be courageous. Don't be fearful. Well, maybe what's happened in my family line is too big for God. There's nothing too big for God. We can overcome any spiritual, obstacle period. Okay, that's the picture. Page 23. The fear of the Lord falls on the Israel's enemies and there's scripture there. I'll just read pieces of it. Now Joshua, the son of Nun, sent out two men from Achaia, from Achaia Grove to spy secretly go view the land. So they went and they met Rahab and that whole story laid out. Now before they lay down, they came up, she came up to the roof. So they're in Rahab's house now and they're sleeping on the roof. She came up to the roof and she said to them, I know that the Lord has given you the land, that the terror of you has fallen on us and that all the inhabitants of the land are faint-hearted because of you. For we have heard how the Lord did great things to set them free. The enemy, when they know we know what we're doing and we're going to come after them, they freak out because they know they're in trouble. It happened there. It will happen with demons. We talked about it a little bit, how that if you're trying to get someone to deliver in session or try to get them to church or whatever, many times, if there's demonic problems, they have this huge fear thing inside of them and they just want to run, get away. There was, I'll just say a young person during open heaven meetings, I was standing over there. It was, I think Brad was ministering a prayer line and they came up to me and they said, I don't know what's wrong with me, but I am doing everything I can to stay in this building. Everything inside of me is screaming, get out, run. These people are freaky. I said, do you know anything about demons? They said, just a little. I said, well, you got some. Do you want help? And they said, yes. So we helped them. And if you were here, this might, I'm not going to say any names or anything, but if you were here, this is a giveaway. There was one person, it's like peeling the onion. There was one person we prayed over twice and they started screaming at the top of their lungs. Remember that? There was music going on and everything and I think everybody in the place heard it. They were just screaming. That was that person who said to me, I am so afraid. I am trying to do everything I can to keep from running. That is a telltale sign. They got demons and the demons know if I hang around here too long, I'm history. I have to get this person out of here. That is, that is this picture. The Jericho people were faint hearted. They knew we're in deep trouble. They had no place to run to, but they knew. So now I'm going to give you something that may sound really weird, but people who are struggling with demonic issues, saved or unsaved, there should be a regular occurrence, not the same person, but different people where we find out when they came to church, a fear came up in them so strongly they had to do everything they could to stay and some even leave. And then they'll come back and then they freak out again and they leave. If that is not happening, the presence of God is not as strong as it should be. Because demons should not be comfortable to sit in a service. That's just the bottom line to it. And if we don't have services where someone says to you, I don't know what's going on in there, man, but I just had to get out. It's just like I couldn't hardly breathe. Well, you got a critter or two. That's what's going on in there. And they felt the presence of the Holy Spirit and they're going, we better get out of here. That's the picture right here. Verse 24, Truly the Lord has delivered all the land into our hands, for indeed the inhabitants of the country are feinthearted because of us. Notice this, please notice this, this is a key. Fear reveals not only what needs to be defeated, but what will be defeated by faith. Any area we as believers have fear, there's something there that needs to be defeated. And it will be defeated if we go after it by faith. So the whole thing and you say, well, if I have that kind of fear, do I have demons? I don't know, you might. Fear is not of God. So it's definitely not angels giving you that fear. Um, you might, you might not, I don't know, but fear will reveal what needs to be defeated and what can be defeated. So chapter five, verse one. So when all the kings of the Amorites who were west of the Jordan heard about this, they all freaked out. Page 24, verse one of chapter six. So they securely shut up Jericho because of the children of Israel. Nobody was going out. Nobody was coming in. The place was in lockdown. The Lord said to Joshua, see? See what? They're afraid of you. They're in lockdown. I have given Jericho into your hand. It's king and it's mighty men of valor. Look at the fear in them and you know who wins this. Isn't that wild? Fear should be an indicator of victories coming. We tend to look at it as an indicator of defeat could be coming. God doesn't look at it that way. The demonic realm knows they are defeated. That's why they stir up. That's why they try to fortify their sin ground when they get into the presence of God or in the presence of a believer who knows their authority. They will freak out when God's spirit moves, everything moves. And the demonic realm included. Letter E, instructions and obedience required to continue to defeat their enemies. Okay, so now we've got, they're coming to Jericho. The enemies know they're defeated because this God's going to take them out. They're in fear. That doesn't mean that God wants his people to just run in there willy-nilly and do whatever. He gives them instructions. This is how you do it. And you got to obey me. That's how you beat the enemy. Their physical enemy, our spiritual enemy. So it, it talked about a number of things there. Let's just read through that next section. Now, the city shall be doomed by the Lord to destruction. It and all who are in it. Only Rahab, the harlot shall live. And you know what's interesting. Rahab was not of Jewish descent. She was not of Abraham's line. She was a, a prostitute. But she understood there was a God bigger than what they were serving and she wanted to serve him. She ended up in the lineage of Jesus. It don't matter who you are, what your past is. God doesn't care. He will set you free and put you in a position you absolutely don't deserve. That's called grace. And bless you be on your wildest dreams. Who would put a prostitute into genus Jesus ancestry? God would. There was three women put into his ancestry that absolutely from human standards or the church standards should not have been there. She's one of them. Interesting. She and all who are with her in her house because she hid the messengers that we sent. I bet her house was, that little house on the wall was crowded that night. Everybody in her house was going to be saved. And you by all means, now he's talking to the Israelites. Here's some instruction. Here's some things you got to do. By all means, it's abstain from the accursed things lest you become accursed when you take the accursed things and make the camp of Israel a curse. Camp, not just a person comes under a curse. The whole camp of Israel comes under a curse. This is talking corporate anointing. This is like bringing curse on the whole church. All the silver and gold, the vessels of bronze and iron are consecrated to the Lord. They shall come into the treasury of the Lord. The picture we can't take or keep anything in our life that identifies with or is directly connected to the enemy to the demonic. This all has to be just given over to God. He said it's consecrated to the Lord. You just have to give it over to God. This can be our favorite sins or ungodly habits or poor attitudes, whatever. We can't hold on to anything that belongs to the enemy. Chapter 7 verse 1, the children of Israel committed a trespass because they didn't do what he said. They took the accursed things so the anger of the Lord burned against the entire nation. Here's the picture of what happens when we hang on to something sinful in our lives. God told them to get rid of everything that was associated with their enemies. So it's like he's giving the church marching instructions. And most of the church goes for it, but there's a few who rebel against what God wants them to do. Those few can mess it up for the rest. That's why I've said it in the Covenant Partner series, I think a number of times. If you can't agree with us or be in unity with us, please find a different church. We're not for you. Here is a picture why. When God says go after this, we as a body need to go after it. And anybody who's gossiping and griping, and I don't know if we should be doing this, and I don't know if the pastor in the bar know what they're talking about. Please find another church. You're not going to help us. There's the picture why. Page 25. Some in the group refused, refused to do what God asked them to do, so the people lost their power. The supernatural left. For those of you who've been around churches any amount of time in your life, that answers a thousand questions. How you can have a church that's 100 years old, but it's as dead as a coffin you'd bury it in. There's no power in it. There's no supernatural happening. People aren't getting saved. People aren't getting healed. People aren't getting set free. There's no miracles. There's no deliverances. It's just dead. Well, how can it be dead? It's got good people in it. They lost their power because they're no longer in unity. They've had too many church fights, too many splits that have never been repented of and dealt with. And the Holy Spirit just backs off of that, just like God did here. Remember, we're dealing with a corporate anointing here. This has to do with the entire group. So they took down Jericho and I just explained kind of what God's showing us here. So chapter seven, verse two, they took down Jericho and now they wanted to go to the next city, which was called AI. Now Joshua sent men from Jericho to AI because they already took down Jericho. It was theirs. Go and spy out that country. We're going there next. So about 3000 men went up from there, but they fled before the men of AI. The men of AI struck down about 36 Israelites, for they chased them from before the gate as far as some city. I don't know how far that was, but struck them down on the descent. Therefore the hearts of the people melted and became like water. So you had this huge victory in Jericho, which was just absolutely mind boggling. You're just going up to check on the next city. You're not even after it. You're just going to check and they chase you home and kill a bunch of you as you go. Why did that happen? Because they hadn't been obedient in what God asked them to do in the first city, Jericho. Now they're going to find out why. So the application is that's what happens when we try to go after demons and they're a sin in our lives. The anointing, the ability, the power, the Holy Spirit doesn't work well. So repentance is going to be needed here to fix this. Page 26. So Joshua, this was a cultural thing. Joshua tore his clothes, fell to the earth on his face before the Ark of the Lord until evening. So he just fell down, he just laid there and stayed there. He and all the elders of Israel and they put dust, sometimes they'd use ashes. They put ashes on their head or on their clothes or whatever. It's a sign of mourning. So they're showing God, we're in mourning, we're coming to you for help. And then they make the question that is a typical Christian question even today. They got defeated. Oh God, why did you even ask me to do this? This is so hard. It didn't turn out the way it was supposed to. Did I even hear your voice? Oh God. Typical Christians, typical Israelites. Have you brought us out here to kill us all? Get over that question. God doesn't like that question. Why? Verse 9, for the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land will hear it and surround us and cut off our name from the earth. They just heard we were handed a defeat. What will you do for your great name? So the Lord said to Joshua, get up, get up. You say, why do you say it in that voice? Because I've heard that one. I heard it once in my life. One time. I don't know, you probably don't, some of you are looking at me like you never heard that story. We were in Colorado. We were just starting the church and we heard, we hit a difficult spot because when you're starting the church, and the same thing about this, when you start a church, you get all the people who are disgruntled with their current church. So you're not getting the cream of the crop here. You're, you know, once you've been in it a while and so forth, well then that can change. But when you're starting, you get all the people who are disgruntled and they bring that with them. And that the only way you deal with that is you have to rule like an iron hand and say, this is how we operate here. And you can either like or dislike it. If you like it, get in. If you dislike it, get out. But this is what we're doing because they will bring all their grunt, disgruntleness with them. So we had started the church of Colorado. I hadn't learned this yet. And we had some disgruntled people and they were threatening to destroy the church, this, that and the other. So I got off into a side office before a Sunday night service and I just lay prostrate on the floor asking for God's help, just like Joshua did, asking for God's help. And I probably was down there 10 minutes, 15 minutes, and I was quiet. And all of a sudden I heard him say, get up. I'm going, what did I do wrong? I'm trying, I'm trying to do something right here. And he said at once, I didn't have to hear it again to get up. So I got up and I'm standing there and it was in the dark, it was in an office, I had the lights off, I'm standing there in the dark going, oh, I don't know what I did, but he's angry with me. He said, I don't have any beggars in my family. See, apparently my posture was I was begging him to do something about this. And that did not make him happy. He said, I don't have any beggars in my family. So stop it. I'm going. Okay, evidently what I did was not faith. It was something different. Well, that's kind of what he told Joshua here, get up. We're not, we're not doing this. Okay. So what's the problem? Well, you got people who disobeyed me. Verse 12, the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, but turned they, but turned their backs before the enemies because they have become doomed to destruction. Disobedience, I don't care if you're a believer or not, disobedience will doom you to destruction. Neither will I be with you anymore unless you destroy the accursed thing from among you. I told you not to take anything, verse 11, and somebody did. Here you have a small group of people affecting the whole nation. Small group of people can affect the whole church. Well, how do we fix it? Deal with the problem. So letter G, you've got to deal with the sin problem. So they went through their process of finding out who sinned, and they had their way of doing that. We don't do that anymore. But it was Achan. And verse 21, when I saw among the spoils a beautiful Babylonian garment, this is Achan speaking, beautiful Babylonian garment, 200 shekels of silver and a wedge of gold weighing 50 shekels, I coveted them and took them. Remember? We weren't supposed to keep that. That was supposed to go to God. And there they are, hidden in the earth in the midst. So he buried them. He knew he shouldn't have them. So he dug a hole, buried them in the middle of his tent, the garments on top and the silvers underneath it. He wanted some things the kingdom of darkness had to offer. And God told everyone to get rid of everything that they took from Jericho. It all belongs to God. That picture is when God asks you to do something in your life, in your spiritual battle, in whatever, you can't come up with your own ideas and do it your own way. If he asks you to go to the in-laws and apologize, you're going to go to the in-laws and apologize, or you're going to open the door to your life. Okay? That's an individual thing. If he asks us as a church to do something and we don't, well, we're doomed to destruction. That's where you get that church that's 100 years old and that is a door now. So obedience is paramount. Of course, we talked about that already, but here it shows up in the picture. So then Joshua and all Israel with him, they took everything and they burned it all. The people, the daughters, the sons, everything, they stoned them and burned everything, which is kind of like, wow, that's dramatic. But they did it, covered them over with a heap of stones and that pile of stones is still there. That was their way of saying, okay, we're not doing this, we're coming back to you, God. And it's a picture of, you say, why would they kill them? It's a picture of putting the flesh to death or killing the old nature. Do you remember? Their physical picture is our spiritual picture. And God asks us to die to the flesh, to kill it, to put it to death. That's the physical picture they did that they put it to death. He asks us to do the same thing in the spiritual way in our body. So once the sin has been dealt with, we just keep reading on in Joshua chapter eight and we're not going to read this, but man, they got on a roll and they just started taking down anything and everything they touched. Chapter verse page 28, number one, the awesome aspect of God's character, when we repent and obey, everything is restored to us. So chapter 10, the victories just go on. The king of, now Adonai Zedek, king of Jerusalem, because Jerusalem was not yet conquered, heard about what happened at at eye after they repented. They went back to eye and just obliterated it. And he heard how Gibeon had made a peace treaty and problems were there. So he said, verse five, I can't beat these people by myself. I need five kings. So he got five kings and joined forces with them. And in verse six, the Gibeonites who had made a covenant or a peace treaty with the Israelites were under attack and they asked the Israelites, quickly come help us. The Amorite kings from the hill country are here to wipe us out. So they went up there and the Lord told them, do not be afraid of them. I've given them into their, your hand, not one of them will be able to withstand you. Now exceptional supernatural things start happening, page 29. They killed, they routed all of them, killed them with a great slaughter. It, verse 11, and it happened as they fled before Israel that the Lord cast down large hailstones from heaven on them. So the army that's running from the Israelites is getting hailed on and they died. There were more who died from the hailstones than the children of Israel killed with the sword. See now, supernatural stuff's happening and God is dealing with stuff that we haven't even touched and he does that all the time in deliverance. We think we've got something and we've got one that we're addressing and there's 15 in the background that God says, by the way you guys are all going to. And he just fights for us. Verse 12, then Joshua spoke to the Lord and the day the Lord delivered him up and here another absolutely unbelievable supernatural thing took place. He, they didn't have enough time to kill the enemy because the sun was going to go down. So Joshua spoke to the sun and said, stand still. Don't set yet. We need time. And the sun stood still and the moon stopped until they got this done. Now do you have any inkling what God had to do to stop the sun from setting? He literally stopped the rotation of the earth and held it in place and they claim, someone handed me a study. I never followed it deep enough to know, but they claim now with the advent of the computer they can find a day in the past around Joshua's time when he lived where it's almost 24 hours something happened that the earth didn't rotate. It stopped for, it wasn't quite 24, but almost 24 hours it came to a complete stop. And they can't explain it. Well, there it is. God does supernatural stuff to defeat our enemies. And the victories just keep piling up. Chapter 10 verse 16, five, the five kings that had come against them ran and hid in the cave. So they just rolled a big rock in front of the cave and went after the armies. Verse 20, then it happened while Joshua and the children of Israel made an end of slaying all the armies with a very great slaughter till they had all finished, that those who escaped the fortified city. So they got all the people, then they went back verse 22, opened the mouth of the cave and brought the kings out. And they struck down the kings and hang them on five trees. Page 30, on that day Joshua took a certain king there and struck it and its king or certain city and struck it and its king with the edge of the sword. He utterly destroyed them. All the people who were in it, he let none remain. So you go on into the next story. They're just, they're just flying here, just conquering the promised land like you cannot believe. Everything that stood in their way fell and supernatural stuff happening. Bottom of page 30, all these kings in their land, Joshua took at one time because the Lord God of Israel fought for Israel. Page 31, and it came to pass when Jabin King of Hazar heard these things that he sent to Joab and he gathered again a whole bunch of kings and people. Verse four, that group went out and they were, and they and all their armies with them as many people as the sand that is on the seashore and multitude. What that basically means is they couldn't count them. There were so many in these armies coming at them, we can't count them. So that's how they expressed that with very many horses and chariots. When all these kings had met together, they came and camp together at the waters of Mirim to fight against Israel. The Lord said to Joshua, do not be afraid because of them. For tomorrow, about this time, I will deliver all of them slaying before Israel. And he promises what they'll do and so forth. Verse 8, the Lord delivered them into the hand of Israel, who defeated them and chased them. They attacked them until they left, none of them remaining. You talk about huge, huge, huge victories. A large key to remaining victorious is in that next verse, Joshua 1115. As the Lord had commanded Moses his servant, so Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua did. He left nothing undone of all that the Lord had commanded Moses. He was obedient. That is the key. That's the key to their victories. It's the key to our being free of spiritual forces and demonic stuff. We have to be obedient when he asks us or says for us to do something. It's a huge key. With it, anything is possible. Without it, our enemies will conquer us. Number three, the danger is when everything is going well, we get complacent. We let something slip, we're not really obedient, and then slowly we slide back into problems. Okay, we got a little bit of time. Let's hit the individual anointing here yet, and then we'll open up for questions and answers. The individual anointing. So that was the corporate anointing. He was asking the nation of Israel to do those things, and the nation did those things. Now, after the death of Joshua, something changed here. The Israelites asked the Lord, who will be the first to go up and fight for us against the Canaanites? Now we're entering into a new dimension of securing freedom. They basically have the land, but there's some pockets of enemies. Number one, up until this time, all the tribes work together as a nation. Now they're going to start working as individual tribes. This is a picture of a believer learning how to do deliverance, and moving on to doing deliverance themselves. When we come to the church, and we have a group of people, and we've got corporate anointing, and everybody's in agreement, that's that kind of movement. When we go home, and someone's at our house, or we're experiencing something ourselves, we don't have the whole church. That's an individual. That's that kind of deliverance. That's what we're talking about here. Individual anointing. Here's the picture. So the Lord said, Judah's supposed to go up. Well, Judah wasn't sure they could do it by themselves, so they asked the tribe of Simeon to go with them, and they went with them. So verse 17, then the men of Judah went with the Simeonites, their brothers, and attacked the Canaanites, and they totally destroyed the city. Same outcome, man, they're just on a roll. Verse 19, page 33, the Lord was with the men of Judah, they took possession of the hill country, but were unable to drive out the people from the plains because they had iron chariots. You think that's the first time they faced iron chariots? Probably not. But that was their excuse. Well, we got the ones in the hill country, but this bunch on the plains, they come at us with these chariots that are made out of iron. We can't do anything with them. Now, this is interesting. So we're seeing some obstacles to gaining full deliverance and freedom in the individual battle, not in the corporate battle, individual battle. Not, notice some things. Number one, not all enemies were equal in resistance. The hill enemies they could take out. The ones in the plains were tougher. Not all demons are of equal resistance. Some go easier than others. That's just the picture there. Just kind of keep that in mind. Well, last time I prayed for somebody who was just poof and they were gone. And this time it's like, we ought to pray for an hour. Was there something wrong? Maybe not. You just met one with a little bit more pizzazz than the first bunch you dealt with. They're not all equal. Verse 21, the Benjaminites, however, failed to dislodge the Jebusites. So here we got another tribe struggling with an enemy who were living in Jerusalem. To this day, they lived there with the Benjamites. Oh, no. They weren't supposed to let that happen. They made a treaty with them. I can't overcome smoking, so I just won't do it in the church parking lot. But I'll keep doing it. You made a treaty. You made a covenant. It's supposed to get the whole enemy out. That's just an example of some of you struggle with that. I'm just encouraging you. Don't make a treaty with it. Manasseh did not drive out the people of those cities or those areas and their surrounding settlements for the Canaanites were determined to live in that land. Some demons are determined to stay. Well, then you just got to let them stay, I guess. Let's make a treaty with them. If they don't bother us too much, we won't bother them too much. We'll let them live with us. No. No. We're all going the wrong direction here. Now here is the key. Verse 28. When Israel became strong, see they were too weak to drive them out. As an individual, there's something different that happens in that anointing. Corporate anointing, which can be as few as two or three. You don't have to have 500 people gathered to have a corporate anointing. If two or three will ask anything in my name, anything they touch, it'll be done for them. That's a corporate anointing. God works different when his body gets in unity and says, God, we need this. We may not all be very mature. We may still be struggling in areas, but we get unified and say, God help us. He just shows up. Now with an individual, he's working with that person's faith. And sometimes we have to grow in our faith to believe we can actually take the enemy out who has iron chariots. You got to believe you can do it or they're going to live with you the rest of your life. So here we're talking about growing and the process of growing before we can get full victory. There's nothing wrong with that, by the way. Nothing wrong with needing to grow. I don't know how it is now, but it used to be one of the things that would really spur a person on to work is when they didn't have enough money to pay their bills. They'd get a second job. They'd ask for more hours. They would do, I don't know if it's still true, but that it wasn't a bad thing to be facing some trouble that you don't know what you're going to do with, because it's a post to spur you on. We will beat this thing. Once they grew stronger, they had the ability to get rid of them, but now they have a bad habit. Page 34. When they became strong, they pressed the Canaanites into forced labor, but never drove them out. See, now they got a taste of slavery. And rather than having to do things themselves, they had slave labor. This was nice. Others were doing their work for them. Yeah, but that's not what God wanted. Nor do you for him drive out the Canaanites living in Geyser, but the Canaanites continue to live there among them. Verse 30. Who remained among them, they did not subject, but they did subject them to forced labor. That's the Canaanites living in Kittron. Nor did Asher drive out certain group of people there because of this people. Because of this, the people of Asher lived among the Canaanite inhabitants of the land. Neither did Napthalai drive out. They got in a bad habit. And even though they got strong, once you're strong enough, you can let them live and force them to do what you want. You're strong enough to get them out. But they didn't get them out. They liked the slave thing. They compromised and turned their enemies into slaves. Their enemies now serve their needs. Application. When dealing with sin and demons, don't develop the thinking, we can control this stuff in our lives. We like it and we enjoy it. So let's hang on to it. We won't be controlled by it. We'll make it serve us. And rather than getting rid of the sin and demons, we make a covenant with them to let them live in us. We enjoy what they are doing for us. So we make them serve us because we're not so weak. We can't control this. We can control this. Do you know what? I've heard that excuse almost word for word. Pastor, they might not be able to control it, but I can control this. It's not a problem for me. Do you know what I've heard that excuse applied to the most in the last five years? Alcohol. You got it. You hit it. I can control this. I'll only drink a little bit here and there. I'll have some wine with supper. I'll do this, that, and the other. Without going into a big discourse on alcohol, let me just say this. It's an enemy to be killed, not to put into slavery so it serves you. Why, I like how it tastes and I like how it relaxes me, but I can control it. I won't let it get away in me. I've also heard it applied to opioids. Pastor, I won't get hooked. I'll just take one now and then because it helps me. Hey, you played that game. What happened back here? They didn't get rid of them. They made treaties with them. They made covenants with them and it didn't even happen always in their generation, but when mom and dad died, the kids went into it fully and it killed them, took them out spiritually. There is the problem with compromising with an enemy. You might be able to control them. They did, but read further. Once that generation passed away, then the next generation would start marrying their women, serving their gods, all kinds of garbage happened. Why? Because mom and dad never killed the enemy. They turned it into a slave because they could control it. My biggest concern with the top one in the last five years I've heard. Okay, let's say you're right, mom and dad. You can control your drinking. I'll bet the whole farm on it. Your kids won't. I'll bet the whole farm on it. That once you're old and gone, you will have raised the family who will come under the power of alcohol. You say, why would you do that? Because I've seen it too often. I'm not as young as I used to be. I've been around. I've watched a few things. You've seen it too, haven't you? Yep. So many in the faith movement have gone to alcohol. And we're watching their children abandon everything. Why would that happen? Do you not read the book? There's the perfect picture of it right there. The deception is we can control it and make them serve us. For a while, but in the end Deuteronomy 7 says they become a snare to us, they will eventually choke us and kill us. If we got the power to control it, then control it and get rid of it. That's where you can say amen. If we've got the power to control it, get rid of it. You're so powerful, get rid of it. Why don't you? Oh, you like it serving you. You've made it your slave. The Amorites can find the Danites to the hill country, not allowing them to come down to the plane. The Amorites are determined to hold out, so they let them hold out a whole turn of events. The enemy doesn't want to leave. Verse 35, the Amorites were determined to hold out in Mount Hares, but when the power of the house of Joseph increased, that's the tribes of Benjamin, they too were pressed into forced labor. Why didn't they get rid of them? The power of the house of Joseph increased, they grew. Get rid of them. They made the same mistake. Judges chapter 2, so there is Joshua. Now we go to Judges chapter 2, and now God addresses this. The angel of the Lord went up from Gilgal to Bochum and said, so now God sends an angel. Here we have, let me back up just to make sure I'm right, we have Judges chapter 1, and we have all these examples of the tribes not killing and getting rid of the enemy, shoving them out of the country. They just bring them in and make them slaves. Totally what God did not want to happen. Judges chapter 2, God sends an angel to them, says, I brought you up out of Egypt and led you into the land that I swore to give to your forefathers. I said, I will never break my covenant with you. And I also said, you shall not make a covenant with the people of this land, but you shall break down their altars, yet you have disobeyed me. Why have you done this? Now therefore I tell you that I will not drive them out before you. They will be thorns in your sides and their gods will be a snare to you. The Israelites thought by keeping the enemies and making them slaves, it would be better in the end. It turned out worse for them. Page 36, they were what we would consider Christians, our application to our time, but they lost the supernatural touch in their lives verse 3. And the enemies, the demonic became thorns and snares to the people. The end of verse 3. Here we have Christians who can't get free. They can't find freedom. They're struggling. They don't see any prayers really answered. I mean, they lay hands on the sick and nothing happens. So they take them to the doctor and get a mox and so on for their kids quickly, because they know prayer won't work anyway. They're powerless. They're just caught in God said, keep out of your life. Keep this out of your life. Die to this. No, they kept it in their life because they can control it and they made covenant with it. And the loss of the supernaturals there and the demonic comes in because it's disobedience. It's willful, chosen disobedience. The demonic will inhabit it and the demonic is smart enough not to do something stupid right away. They wait. Because humans are very... our memories are very short. If they will wait a few years and then start acting up, we will never tie what's happening out here to our disobedience back there. We'll be so focused over here. I don't get it. But we'll never connect them because we're years removed. And once our children become adults, now this becomes a generational demon because you led it into your family. Now it will gain momentum in the children and start causing them havoc. And if that doesn't get dealt with, you wait till the grandkids. It's going to be huge problems. Oh, we're Christians. We're serving God. Why is this happening? You know, many times I've heard that we tried to raise our children for God. Why? I know you did. And I'm not questioning your motives and I'm not belittling what you tried to do. But you made covenant with something someplace and you led it into your family line and now it's destroying you. Now the Holy Spirit will show you what it is. But you got to go back. Somebody's got to go back and fix it. And succeeding generations can deal with it, can fix it. But you got to go back and deal with it. Remember that story? Did I share it here? Did I share it on a Sunday? I think I shared it here. So I don't have to go back over it. Remember the story of the mother died of cancer, her daughter died of cancer, the grandchild died of cancer, and the son was now struggling with something physical that doctors couldn't find? Remember that story? And God told, he started praying because he'd go to the hospital over and over and they couldn't find anything wrong with him. He said, but I know there's something seriously wrong with me. I am going to die of this if I don't find this out. So he went seriously to God and asked and God told him. He said, your mother let this demon into the family when she chewed out a young minister, her and a friend, who the friend by the way died of cancer too, chewed out a young minister and just ripped him up one side and down the other because he wasn't doing life the way they thought he should be doing it for the church. And he resigned, left the ministry, never went back in the ministry again. It was such a bad experience for him. That episode led a spirit into the mom's life. She obviously never repented of it. Now it became a family spirit. Went to the children, the grandchildren were starting to knock them off one at a time. All of them cancer, starting to knock them off one at a time. And God told them, there is the door. Go back and repent on her behalf for that and get this thing out of your family line. That's what it's talking about here. We can let things in and we just have to really guard that we don't move the enemy in and live with them and say, well that pastor, he had it coming. He said something really dumb and there was visitors there and they never came back again. So we gave him a piece of our mind, straighten him out. Well, congratulations because you just let demons into your family that are destroying it and had this man who was her son not remembered and known had this gone another generation, he passed away, it would have taken a vision or something out here to show them grandma did something. I'm not sure what it is, but we better ask forgiveness for it because they wouldn't have known the story. He knew the story. So it was easier for God to bring that back and he had that going on further unchecked. Well, then now we get generations of stuff. There was a lady and with this, let's just finish this. I'll give you a story for questions and answers. You shall make no covenant with them nor with their gods. They shall not dwell in your land lest they make you sin against me. See, there's the end result. Oh, we can control it. Yeah, watch this over longer than two years. Watch this over a generation or two and let's see how well you're controlling this. You'll end up sinning against him for if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare to you. They were still what we call Christians. They were still Israelites, but they never lived in full freedom that God intended for them. And it starts going into the cycle of man, Joshua 2, verse 7 there. There was a lady. She was, well, she was a younger lady. I won't tell her age, but she was a younger lady. Her parents were still alive. And this was years ago. She came to the church, got saved, was living for God for a while and developed cancer, leukemia. And we're going, wow. So God and His mercy, we went to pray with her for the cancer and God and His mercy let the generational spirit come up and hiss and holler and blow at us because, you know, he's going to kill this Christian and he's got right to be here because he's a Christian. So you're here anyway and you're in a very pride, bragatory mood talking through the woman. So I thought, well, let's go with this. You know, let's find out what it knows. So I said, so what makes you think you can take this person out? Because I've been here for generations and I've never skipped one. And I'm not skipping one either, here either. She's mine. She's dead. So give me some proof. So it starts listing. So I grab a piece of paper and pencil and I'll start writing. It starts listing. I killed her aunt when she was a child. Name, gave me the name. So I wrote it down. I would have killed her other aunt, named the person, but she came to this church to turn to your God. It's like, cool. Okay. I killed her grandmother. Who's the name? Name the name. I killed her great grandmother, I believe. Name the name. Wrote it down and went back one more generation. I can't remember if that was a guy or a woman in the fifth generation or the fourth generation back. I said, give me the name. Name the name. Wow. You are really arrogant. We couldn't get it to move. It was not going to leave. It's one of these with the iron chariots and it doesn't want to go away, you know, kind of thing. So it stayed. So, you know, we prayed over the person, sent her home. I knew she wasn't healed of cancer because this foul thing was still there. So I called her. I said, give me the name of your parents. I won't talk to your parents. Okay. So I got the name. I got the name of the dad. It was the dad's side that this thing tracked down in. I found out. So I got hold of that. I said, question for you. I know who this person is, the one aunt, because she got saved. I know who that is. I said, who's this? He said, that was my, I'm the oldest. That was my next sister, my next sibling down. That was my younger sister. I said, what do you mean was? I think she was 11 when she died. I said, what did you die of? leukemia. Okay. I said, who's this person? And I didn't give the generation anything. I just named the name. He said, well, that's my mom. I said, what did she die of? She died of cancer. I said, who's this person went back another generation. He said, well, that was so-and-so, and they were tied in this way, that and the other. I said, do you have any idea what they died of? Yeah. I, as a little boy, I remember them saying they died of cancer. So I went to the, now my eyes are getting big. Like, whoa, we got a live one by the tail here. I asked the last name. He said, I'm not sure. He said, I believe they were on this side of the family and this, that and the other. And then he started going, and you know what? If I remember right, they died of some form of cancer. And this spirit had told me, went back that far. I said, can you go further? They said, I can go for generations, but you'll never know them anyway. So why waste my time? Just arrogant. That's what happens when you let a spirit into the family. And if you don't get it out, it will just go generation to generation to generation, gain steam as it goes and just knock people off. One way that this particular one was cancer. How did it get in? I have no idea. It was been in there for generations. So the thing of holding our land is really, really important. It's not just being a Christian. So we're going to address this later, but I'll briefly say it right now. We could be double our size, maybe triple our size if we weren't so intense. You know how many people tell me, why do you have to be so intense? Why do you make such a big deal out of stuff? I mean, we're all Christians. We're all going to heaven. Why do you have to get on this and ride it so hard? I don't like that. I'm going to do it. Well, do you know why? I just explained it to you. Just explained it to you. It's the difference between being a believer and a disciple. The difference between having a Savior and having a Lord. And the people who really struggle to live free are the believers who've made Jesus their Savior, but they're not willing to cross over into discipleship and make him Lord and Master. I've seen the difference in what you've seen you're held accountable to. I just plain can't go back. I can't go back. Because if I do now I'm in disobedience and I will let something into my family and the stories keep coming. So let me give you a story on that. We were just starting the church in Colorado. We were going maybe year, year and a half, small group of us. Of course, you're trying to find some way to get people to even come and pay any attention to you at all. And we had this lady show up at a Bible study, only place she ever showed up, showed up at a Bible study. And came in and, you know, we were studying about covenant and came in and sat down and participated this, that and the other, got on the subject of healing and she challenged us. I do not believe it's God's will for everyone to be healed. I said, well, you know, you can believe what you want, but that, not our stance, because we don't see that in scripture. Well, now we were into it for a while. And I just stood solid. No, healing is paid for, for everyone. We just have to learn how to tap it and get it into the physical realm. Okay. She left, never did come back, didn't like our stance. It was, I think two or three months later after that, that Jess got spinal meningitis. And of course, that was a whole big, I didn't see this until we were past the whole thing. And the Holy spirit brought it to my mind and showed it to me. And I told Mary, I said, that what happened with that lady was a test. Are you so desperate to get people to come that you'll back off of what I've shown you? Because had I backed off, Jess would have either been a vegetable or dead. If I'd have backed off of healing right there, Jess would have died. Because I'd have opened the door in compromise, making a treaty with this lady and backing off what I know. So you're either going to love me or hate me. You know, that's the way it works here. Because I take a very hard stand on things because God's showing me. If I back off, it will destroy me and my family first and then it'll spread to everybody else. I can't go back to just being a believer. I'm sorry. I have to stay a disciple. Like I can't do it. Because if I go back, oh yeah, we can, you know, if we really want to get big, you know, if you're going in a world view, if we really want to get big, we need to get out of Christianity and get into Muslim. They're the fastest growing religion in the world right now. I mean, let's just, if we're going for numbers, let's go for them. Well, we'd never turn our back on Jesus. Yeah, but we're doing it every day when we compromise and move in the enemy and make treaties with them. We're doing it every day. We might make heaven, but it sure ain't the way God wants us to make it. Okay.
