Well, Lord, we're going to step in whatever you want, whatever you want done. Get that across to us. Help us see it and understand it in Jesus' name. All right. Well, he's not telling me right now what this is all about. So, let's move forward and maybe he'll... maybe he'll enlighten us. I'm sure he will. It's just a matter of we got to hear. Thank you for those of you that are joining us live stream. We have a real heavy presence of the Holy Spirit here. And that doesn't happen just because there's always a reason. And I'm hesitant to move forward because I can't figure out the reason. I'm not hearing anything, but maybe it'll show up later. So, we're going to start in and see what he shows us. We're on page 37. I want to finish. My plan was to finish this booklet tonight. We'll see where that goes. If the Holy Spirit's got something different for us to do or handle, then we will do that. For those that were waiting for the Q&A session from last week, I apologize. It took us till yesterday to get it up. We were debating on editing it and pulling some stuff out because we got into some heavier stuff that I didn't know for sure if we wanted to leave on the video or not. It ended up we left it on there, but we ended up talking about Nephilim and the last days and what that could look like and so forth. So, sometimes people are not interested in that. And I guess if that's you, then that's okay. Just bear with us because some of us are interested in that. Jesus pointed it out specifically. He said as it was a Noah's time, it'll be in the last days. Noah's time, their biggest problem was the hybrid issue that had taken place between fallen angels and human beings. And yes, they were marrying and giving in marriage, but the interesting part was if you go back and study it, they were marrying and giving in marriage with hybrids. So, as it was, it will be, so we got on that subject. So that got kind of heavy. We might return to it again at some point. But tonight, I don't think we will. Page 37. We're talking about being empty, swept and garnished. Let me ask this question. How many of you have read the remainder of the booklet? You've already gone through it. Okay, that won't help me. So we'll have to go a little slower. A stern warning God Jesus gave us is once someone is set free, they cannot be left empty, swept and garnished because it will cause it to get worse in the end. So we started on the Scripture and then we got off into what our demons, what our fallen angels, and we spent the time there. I just felt that was supposed to go in here. It will be laid out in the beginning of the next booklet. It's not in this one. I was expecting to wait, but we didn't wait. We talked about it last week. What is, what are demons and so forth. But we started here. So let's go to that Scripture, Matthew chapter 12 verse 43 through 45. And when the unclean spirit has gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places seeking rest and findeth none. Now we explained a little bit of that last week talking about demons being spirit beings who are without a body. Where fallen angels, angels have a body. The thought is demonic spirit beings are spirits without a body. So they're always searching for something they can dwell in. They prefer human bodies. We talked about the dry places and human beings being 75% water seeking rest outside of a house. They cannot find rest. So verse 44, then he saith, I will return to the house from once I came out. And when he come, he findeth it empty, swept and garnished. Then goeth he and takeeth with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself. And they enter in and dwell there. And the last state of the man is worse than the first. Even so shall it also be also unto this wicked generation. I'm not used to talking King James. I got to slow down and get the words in the right order. So when a demon is cast out, they're going to return to see if they can get back in and they're going to look for three things. Empty, swept and garnished. Go to page 38. He's looking for rest. He went out of the person top of page 38. He left the person. He's looking for rest. And he's coming back because he's not finding rest. And the place he's living in is dry compared to what he was in when he was in the human being. So he's referred to as an unclean spirit, which is a lewd, impure or demonic spirit. Sometimes King James calls them devils. There's different words, but here it's referred to as an unclean spirit. Unclean, sometimes when a spirit manifests, you can smell them. Not always. Now what's interesting, when a presence comes, whether it's God's presence or demonic presence. See, who's around? Molly, can you grab a mic in the back there? And I know it's early, but I want to do something here to make a point because we say, well, why does God call him unclean or why did Jesus call him unclean? Because that's not just a spiritual description. They're not a clean spirit. They're an unclean spirit. They stink. You could use the word they don't shower, they don't bathe, they don't whatever. I don't know how it works in the spirit realm, but demonic spirits stink. And the word unclean or impure, not cleansed, lewd, foul, it's like a foul odor. The most accurately it represents or smells like sulfur. That's usually the thing that smells the most like sulfur. If you've ever been to Yellowstone with the boiling pots and the wind comes, it's like, I'll take your breath away, the sulfur smell. That's close. It resembles it. It's really foul. It's really rude. You don't always smell them, but sometimes you do. But bring the mic up if you would. I'm going to have you guys share what happened the other Sunday because when God's presence shows up, sometimes you can smell it. How many of you have ever smelled God's presence? Oh, cool. So we had these three girls were sitting over. Well, you're not a girl, as far as I know. So we'll say these two girls and this handsome young man were sitting over there. Was it last Sunday or Sunday before? Two Sundays ago. Tell me what you smelled during and when, when did you smell it? So I think it was when Heidi was like prophetically singing over the north. So what was it happen? Yeah, it was over. It was over that and like it kind of drifted in, you know, really. For me, it was kind of like really light at first and then it was like boom. It felt like I was trapped in the middle of a field of just beautiful smelling flowers. It was like so strong to the point where I turned the Katie. I'm like, do you smell this? I asked Caitlin, do you smell this? They're both like, yeah. And I'm like, what is that smell? I look behind us. There's like, no, I don't think there's anyone behind us or anything. So I'm like, this is weird. It was like just such a beautiful sweet. I can't even describe it. It's just... Cool. Pass it on. See if she can describe it. I would describe it closely to like, it smelled like lilacs or roses to me, like fresh cut flowers. That aroma and it would come in like waves when Heidi would get going. It would get really strong and then it would get less and then it would come stronger again. Kind of came in waves. Yeah. So for me, it was more so like, like they said it would go come in waves, but it smelled like... Fresh cut flowers, but like someone's perfume. I thought it was like, just someone's perfume and I was like, wait, there's nobody around me. Like, what's going on? I've never had that, but it was, it was different. So now when she was done singing and doing her thing, did the smell go away? It faded. So it wasn't somebody's perfume? No. Because somebody's perfume wouldn't have faded. No, I sat and I was like... Yeah. I thought it was dieta at first. Yeah. If dieta is watching, we could give you credit. They thought you smelled that good. But it was when the presence of God got really heavy, sometimes you can smell it. Different things will happen when God's presence gets really heavy. At the modular, it was during those early years when we were having a move of the spirit while we were in the modular. People would show up and it's 15, 20 below. And as they come across the parking lot, they'd smell the same thing. And they'd come in just dumbfounded, confused. It's 15 below. I know there's no flowers out there. Are you spraying something? No, it's the presence of God. Unclean spirits are just the opposite. They are foul smelling. They are rank. They're yuck. This spirit went out of a man. Notice the definition of man here. I want you, because this is going to be interesting. The word man and the word house. Man here refers to anthropos. It's a human being, whether male or female. So it's not just talking about a male. So it could be the one. Generically? Generically, okay. To include all human individuals, okay. The countenance man face that is human being. So, literally one of the definitions of the word man there is to have a man face. Rather than a dog face or a cow face. Or it's a man faced being. I just find it interesting how they describe that. The spirit is seeking rest. It's wanting intermission. It's wanting rest. The therapist says to cause or permit one to cease from movement or labor in order to recover and collect his strength. So when a demon spirit, a disembodied spirit is out of a body, they can't find rest. They are continually in movement or labor trying to recover because they were never meant... Remember in 1 Corinthians 15, Paul says that we were never meant to be unclothed. Speaking of the body. We've got this body here, but it's fallen. So when we go to heaven, we're going to have a new body and we're going to be clothed with a new body because we're not to be unclothed. Well these, you know, in some ways it's like you feel sorry for them. They're unclothed spirits. They're trying to get into a body or something that resembles it because it gives them the ability to rest. It gives them strength. Number two there in the bottom, page 39, to give rest, refresh, to take rest, to keep quiet of calm. If you go up top page 40, rest means intermission or cessation from any motion, business or labor. So obviously when they're out of a body they are continually in motion. They're continually going. There's no rest for them. They don't like it. Let's just say it that way. They don't like to be out of a body. So verse 44, he says, I'm going to go back to the house from where I came out. When he has come back to that house he finds it empty, swept and garnished. Because it's so miserable for him out there outside of body he goes back to see if he can get back in. Why would he go back to that person? And here's a thought. Just take it for what it's worth. These things are at war and fighting all the time because they're opposite of God's kingdom. God's kingdom is peace and unity and it all works together. That kingdom is the opposite. So they're at war and striving and struggling at all times. If he goes to a different human being that human being may already have some spirits. You think they're going to let him in? Or it in, whatever it is? I'm calling it him, but it in? No, they've already claimed their ground. It's going to go where it thinks it's easiest to reestablish which is back to the original house. It knows it can get back in. Now, let's go off into a little bit of side thought here, because I haven't talked about it much, but this is a good place to bring it up. There are some, I'll use the word famous ministers who absolutely, and they know the word and they're big in the word and this, that and the other. A couple of them are faith ministers and so forth, but absolutely do not believe once you're saved you can have a demonic spirit. One very influential one. I've never heard him say it, but I don't listen to him too much. He's good, far as I know, but there's a few things I disagree with. He's out of Colorado. From my understanding he is dead set against humans ever being able to have a demonic spirit. Once you're saved it's no longer possible. Pardon me? Humans or Christians? Once you're saved. And the direction they usually come from is everything in the gospels is still Old Testament, so everything Jesus was dealing with was before the cross and the resurrection and the power that was given to us by the Holy Spirit and so forth. You got me? Okay, I'll just keep talking. It got me online. We lost my sound in here. It might be the board, so they'll figure it out. When they look at this, like from Jesus' perspective and what he's saying here, they say he's describing an Old Testament issue. Okay, so here is where I come and this is why I come from this direction. Because in the cross, in the resurrection, everything in salvation has been bought and paid for for us. I mean, that's a done deal. So I'm going to give you two, three reasons why I disagree. Number one, by his stripes, we were healed. He carried away every sickness and every disease. Why do Christians get sick and get diseases? It's over. It's done. Jesus bought and paid for it completely. But yet we all know people get sick and die. People get sick and struggle with diseases. People have heart conditions and they live that way for 20 years and they're Christians. They're serving God. I thought it was a done deal. Well, it is a done deal by faith. We have to appropriate it by faith. And we could just list here for the next hour, peace, financial prosperity, the promise of success in everything we touch. That's what word blessing means to have success down the road of life. Everything you do, everything you touch, you are by God, he already bought and paid for all of us to be successful in it. Freedom from every form of bondage. No depression, no discouragement. This has all been bought and paid for on the cross. Well, why aren't we just automatically living in it? Because we're not. It comes by faith. So why would freedom from genealogical things, ancestral things, the curse, it specifically lists the curse. Paul talks about it specifically saying Jesus became a curse for us. So the curse would go away and the blessing of Abraham would come on us. Well, why do some Christians just seem like they live cursed lives? No matter what they try to do, it never works for them. Well, I thought we're free of the curse. Well, we are. God bought and paid for that. But like everything else, we have to learn to apply that by faith. The same way we have to learn to apply being free of demonic stuff by faith. Okay, that's one reason I say, nah, I ain't buying it. Second reason is it's it's the old argument of well, healing isn't for today. Well, I'm sorry I've already been healed. You're too late in giving me that information. The baptism of the Holy Spirit we're speaking in tongues is not for today. It passed away with the apostle. I'm sorry you got to me too late. I'm there. I got it. I know how it works. I know what it's all about. God doesn't speak to us. The Holy Spirit doesn't speak to us. God doesn't speak to people anymore. Again, I'm sorry. You got to me too late. It's like I think it was Jerry Savelle. He went into a bookstore to buy a Bible and he wanted a specific kind. There's different kinds of amplifiers and he was looking for a specific kind is what my memory says. And so there was a young man who was going through college and it was Christian college. I think he was going to be a minister. So he asked him where the Bibles were and so he took him over to the Bibles and he pulled the one out and he started reading Mark 16, the last verses of it. These signs will follow them that believe and started listing it off. And that wasn't the one he was looking for. Grabbed a different one. And the young guy was standing there watching them and watching what he was reading. And he told them you know that those scriptures you're looking at there weren't in the original. They were added later. And that is one of the theories that they were added later. So they're not even in the Word of God. They don't work. And his answer was marvelous. He looked at him and he said really did anybody tell God because they've been working for me all this time. So in other words someone should clue God in that these don't work anymore. You got to us too late. Well Mark 16 they that believe will lay their hands on the sick. They'll recover the cast out demons. They'll speak with new tongues. Well none of that's for today. I'm sorry you got to me too late. I've seen it all happen. So it's the same way we look at that it's like well Christians can't have demons. Here is the problem. That's what I was taught all my life growing up. I was taught that in Bible college. And that was one of the reasons I had so much difficulty when I went into the ministry and got in that situation. Because I knew nothing about deliverance. Because my denomination never touched it. Because there was no reason to. Christians can't have demons. And if someone's got demons if you just get them saved all the demons have to leave. Because the Holy Spirit comes and when the Holy Spirit comes all demons have to leave. That was the teaching. Can't find it in Scripture. But that was the teaching. So I rested very confidently in the fact you get somebody saved. You never have to deal with deliverance. That's why we don't dwell on it. You don't learn anything about it. That's why that first person that I talked about the first night. That just blew me away. Blew the head pastor away. I was assistant pastor. I blew the head pastor away. Because we were of the same denomination when I was raised in. And here you've got a demon. Obviously a demon talking through a young lady who we know was born again. So we stopped the whole thing and got her saved all over again just in case she messed something up. Didn't do it right. And got her baptized in the Holy Spirit again and we had her speaking in tongues. Now she's clean. And here came that spirit. Just laughed at us like a bunch of idiots. Which totally messed up our theology. We're lost now. Because we're in uncharted water. Why? Because Christians can't have demons. Well what's this? It's a mess. And we got to deal with it. So I remember in fact I went back and looked at some of the notes after we couldn't get it out. And then we went into that three day prayer and fasting. During that period of time the head pastor called the district office and said here's our problem. Is there anybody in the district who can help us? Well we're in a denomination that doesn't believe Christians can have demons. So how many people you think there can help us? Zipple. Because they're in the same boat we are. Just get them saved. They'll be fine. We did that. Are you sure? Yes we did that. Well get them baptized in the Holy Spirit then. We did that. And this thing is just ripping us apart. We need help. And I looked up the notes. I had written some notes and I wanted to be sure. I looked up the notes and I remember that morning he came into my office looking kind of dumbfounded. And he said well I called the headquarters and looking for help and here was their answer. We don't know what you have going on but if this girl is saved she can't have a demon. That's not possible. So we recommend you get her to such XYZ psychiatric hospital. She has mental problems. Well that's why we didn't have any clue what we were doing because the denomination never taught us what to do. So well Christians can't have demons. I'm sorry you got to me too late. I've cast out hundreds of them out of Christians. We've had some in the last few weeks. Since the beginning of the year. Well it can't be. Well I'm sorry you got to me too late. It is. So let's quit arguing whether it can be or can't be and let's find out what the truth is here. And I could give you some other reasons but let me hit one more argument. The stuff that Jesus taught on applied to the Old Testament once he rose from the dead and we got the baptism of the Holy Spirit a lot of what Jesus taught on no longer applies to us. That's one of the arguments. I don't buy that for a single second. Because much of what Jesus taught on was different than what they thought it meant in the Old Covenant the Old Testament law and he was preparing us for where it was going. If all he was doing was talking his time backward he was doing the disciples a huge injustice because he wasn't getting them ready for forward. Stop and think about that. He was getting them ready to start the church. The whole future of Christianity hung on 12 men. If all he was doing was looking now and past. Not getting them ready for the future. He wasn't saying anything to get them ready for the future. This whole thing of when the Spirit leaves it goes looking and then it comes back. That's all past. That's nothing for the future. If all Jesus did was deal with present and past he was really misleading those 12 guys. But when you read their writings all they have to say is this is what Jesus did. This is what Jesus said. This is how it worked for Jesus. It's got to work that way for us. This is the way it works for us. Because Jesus, because Jesus. So I totally disagree with that theology too of well Jesus didn't get them ready for the future. No, he did. And this is one of the things he got them ready for. You're going to have people you get set free and they're going to get re-inhabited and he explained to them why and what was going on. So I wanted to put that out there because I know that there's famous people well-known people who say Christians can't have demons. I was raising an entire denomination. Who taught that? And they might still believe that. I haven't checked. But they might still believe that. The problem is it kind of goes like where the faith movement hit the ditch. You have to acknowledge what's real and then apply faith to it. This thing of Are you sick? Oh no. I'm not sick. No. Calling it by faith. Not sick. How dumb does that look? Of course you're sick. You can own the fact you're sick. And by faith claim the truth by his stripes you're healed and this thing will leave my body. Is your back hurt? No. No. I ain't going to confess anything negative. You don't have to. It hurts. And see that whole thing of the faith movement made us look like idiots. Receive your healing. Call your healing. But if your eyes bulged out and hanging on your cheek you might want to say I'm believing for healing on that but I do have a problem. Just stop and think about it. How can you believe for healing if you don't have a problem? So. Now you got my point, hopefully. I believe this scripture is as true today as it was in Jesus' time as as true as it was in the Old Testament. The only thing there is they couldn't get him out very well. That was the problem. So let's go back into this. I've made him a point there I think. I will return to the house finding an empty swept and garnished house. Now this is interesting. He's calling the man a house. It expands the definition of it. A house is a dwelling by implication a family a home, a house, a temple. Of course our body is a temple. That's strong. Go to the fairs on the bottom of page 40. It can mean a house physical house an inhabited house or a home any building whatsoever. Can buildings be haunted? Absolutely. Absolutely. If they can't find access to a human being somehow a building gives them some rest. I don't know how or why I don't know. But right there in the definition we see it. A house, the house of God the tabernacle. Oh my goodness. You mean churches can have demons? Remember that? I shared the story of the first church I was in and had a demon right up above the pulpit it was like a high ceiling 15, 18 feet perched right up at the top right above the pulpit there was a demon. And that was his place and he wasn't going to leave. You say that's not scriptural. Oh look, it is. Demons can actually inhabit churches physical buildings. They prefer people. But right there in the definition. Flip over to page 41. A human body as the abode that demons possess it tents, hunt, a huts nests, stalls lairs of animals. Isn't that interesting? A place where one has fixed his residence inmates of a house all the persons forming one family or a household. Now remember house can mean a man the family of a man a physical building including a church a human body top page 41 tents, huts nests, stalls, lairs of animals. Now that's interesting. You say well that can't be scriptural. Well, I think it is because when Jesus cast out the legion he threw them into pigs animals. So demons are interested in animal bodies also. The place where one has fixed his residence, his settled abode to be the... Skip the word. I'm not doing well with those tonight. Number two, the inmates of a house all the persons forming one family or a household. Okay, so now according to Ther's definition there is a generational sins of the fathers familiar spirit being described. It not only it cannot be in a human being or one man it can be in the family. Read it again. Inmates of a house all or in other words all the persons forming one family or a household. You can have family demons or demons that run in the generations of a family. And here again, he says it again the family of God the Christian church, the church of the old and new testaments can have demons. Probably the most prevalent demon in a church is the spirits of religion. They just you know I have to laugh a little bit I told Mary so I'm going to point something out that happened. Oh, I don't remember service back. I don't think it was one of these nights. I think it was a service. Whatever. Traditions of men get in and they get in when we're not even expecting it. And when these traditions are considered once they're made holy so to speak now you have a religious approach and since it's not God a demonic spirit will just suck to that and they will help empower that religious approach. And it happens here. It tries to happen in every church. So I'm going to have a little bit of fun now. The other night I prayed and I wasn't done talking yet. See now typically when I pray we're done. This time I prayed before I was done and as soon as I was done praying some people got up and put their coats on. They were ready to leave. You know what that is? It's religion. It's tradition. It's how we do it here. Well, so I'm thinking I need to start doing it differently just to break that whole thing up or it's going to become a tradition and now we're now we're headed down the wrong road and it's not anybody's fault. It's just it's the way we normally do it. Well, here is where the problem comes in. If the way we normally do it starts being looked at as holy for instance the way we dress when we go to church. There are certain ways to dress and there are certain ways not to dress. If the congregation actually starts looking at a certain type of attire is holy and the other is unholy what do you have? You got religion. A spirit will grab that because it's not God. The only thing I can find is scriptures we're supposed to dress modestly. So and that can be open to interpretation according to the culture but there are certain ways that people probably shouldn't dress when they come to church. However God has more grace than we do. But there is a goal I mean put enough clothes on so we don't see everything. I would consider that a good thing to do. I think it's scriptural. Do you have to wear a dress? Do you have to wear a nice pantsuit? Do you have to wear a suit and tie? Do you have to wear dress pants and a dress shirt? See a lot of these things the culture now has shifted some but when I started in the ministry I wore suits all the time. Because that's what was expected and if I didn't wear one I heard about it. You know what that is? That's religion. But they called it, you know, well you're not wearing a suit. Disrespect. Respect is of the heart. It's not what we hang on the outside. It's of the heart. We got to go back to the heart again. So in reality in my early years of ministry I was functioning in a spirit of religion. I was raised in it. I don't remember ever seeing my dad go to church on Sunday or maybe on a Wednesday night he did. But a Sunday or a special meeting or we had revival meetings or anything like that he always wore a suit. Always. The preacher always wore a suit. I went into the ministry in that denomination. We always wore a suit to a service. And when the day came I'll never forget it. It was a Sunday night early years in Colorado Sunday night the Lord said I'm telling you to wear a t-shirt and jeans tonight. And I'm going I can't do that. T-shirt and jeans. Yep, just a plain old white t-shirt and jeans. You wouldn't believe how hard it was for me to do that. I did it. And I thought they're going to throw me out. That was my beginning of going oh so I'm caught in religion too. You know we all think we're so free. So here you've got there can be all kinds of spirits. There's some churches that just plain have a spirit of adultery in them. And there's too many couples in the church who get caught in it. It's a problem. This church don't have it so you don't have to look around at each other and see if there's one here. There's none here. But I've been in them. And literally you walk into the place, you sit down the praise team starts singing and you start noticing the opposite sex who isn't your wife or the opposite sex notices other men. It's just like it just starts happening. It's like, what in the world is that? And then I watched a couple of times where I knew they weren't married. They're kind of smirking at each other, winking at each other. And I'm going, something's wrong here. This ain't right. Something's wrong. Any kind of spirit. Now typically it's a religious spirit. But any kind of spirit can inhabit a church. Old or New Testament is the definition. The family of God. And then number three there on page 41, your stock. That's another way of saying your family or the descendants of a person. So there again, he's referring to generational spirits. So notice the definitions of the word house. It can mean a person. A person's home. Haunted houses. Personal demon problems, things like that. A person's family. A person's descendants. It can be a corporate setting. It can be a building beyond the person's home. It can be referring to the family of God. It can be referring to a church. So when the spirit in this case left it left a man-faced person, Jesus said. It left a human body. It went roaming. And then Jesus gave us a whole bunch of insight by choosing the word he chose for house. He said, however, when they go back which means that whole broad thing that they could look for to get back in they could have left. Can you cast the spirit out of a house? Yes, you can. But it's going to try to come back and the ones who own it are going to decide whether it gets in or not. Are certain houses haunted? Absolutely. Can you get them out? Absolutely. Do they need to be guarded once the spirit's out? Absolutely because it's going to try to loop back and try to figure it out. The scripture doesn't say this. This is just by personal experience. Anywhere from two to four weeks it's going to come back around. Some are quicker. Some are like even seven to ten days. Most of the time it's like 14 days, 28 days. They're going to come back around and try to get back in. That's not scripture. That's just personal experience. So it says, verse page 41. They will come speaking of. They're absolutely moving. Page 42. The spirit will literally show up to look inside the person. They've been out wandering. They come back. They're looking to see what's going on. It's empty swept. It's garnished. The word empty means to take a holiday or be at leisure to be vacant. Now take that picture, that word picture and plug it into the picture we've been seeing in the Old Testament of the land of Israel. The promised land. And how that they needed to go in and not only take the land, but then inhabit. Fill the land. Don't leave it empty. That picture applies to us in that empty means, okay, you had spirits cast out. This is not the time to go on a spiritual vacation. That's right. To take a spiritual holiday. That's been so hard. I mean, this thing, it's been tormenting me and I feel so free now. I'm just going to relax and enjoy this and do nothing. Do not do that. It's looking for you to do that. Because you are not spiritually remember in the Old Testament, they kick enemies out and then they had to fill that land. The same is true here. You kick something out. You have to spiritually expand and fill your territory. Whatever they were in, let's say there, just as an example, let's say they were a spirit of lying. You're going to have to fill that whole realm of the temptation to lie, the habit to lie, lying, you're going to have to fill that realm with what? Truth. If you leave it alone, well, I had a bad spirit of lying. And what are you doing about it? Are you making yourself live in truth? Are you filling yourself with the word of truth? Are you letting the Holy Spirit who's called the spirit of truth come in and inhabit and fill that? If you don't make a special emphasis on truth, if you had a problem with the spirit of lying, a special emphasis on truth, you're going to leave that area empty. Well, I'm just going to try not to lie as much. I just feel so free. It's so freeing just this. It's going to be so good. I'll just try not to lie. No, no, no. You have to fill that area and you fill it with the opposite of whatever the spirit was. If the spirit was a spirit of religion, tradition, you're going to have to fill it with the opposite. Say, how would you do that? Whatever you were holding as a tradition, you got to knock it off and do something different. The Holy Spirit will lead you. You might have to wear a different kind of clothes at church. You might have to change your hairdo. You know certain denominations have certain hairdos. Have you ever noticed that? I think it's funny. Mary and I had a game in Colorado. We try to guess what church they went to by how they dressed in the hairdos. And sometimes we kick up a conversation. It like Sunday night after service, we go to McDonald's, get the kids something to eat this, that, and the other. And other people were coming out of churches, so they'd sit there. So sometimes we kick up a conversation with them. Hey, you're all dressed up. We just came from church. You guys come from church too. Oh, yeah, we do. What church you come from? We were seeing who was right. Maybe it wasn't the purest motives. But I said, they're Baptist. She said, oh no, they're not Baptist. They're such and such. Well, it's fine out. So we had this ongoing game going on. But it's funny. They will dress a certain way. They will walk a certain way. They will handle themselves a certain way. You say, well, if you get set free of that, what do you do? You got to knock that off. Whatever those things are. For instance, some denominations, churches, women can't wear pants at all. They got to wear long dresses. Well, if you get delivered from a spirit of religion, you're going to have to do something about that. Because if you keep up the same old habit pattern, your house is going to be empty. You didn't fill that with truth, with the opposite, the freedom. I'm not saying go out and buy miniskirts and start flaunting. I'm not saying that. But you're going to have to break out of the tradition somehow because the tradition which became holy when I was growing up, women couldn't cut their hair. When my mother cut her hair the first time, my grandfather, her father thought she might have been going to hell. Because 1 Corinthians 11 and the tradition they had, and so forth in the Jewish culture. See, once something like that that tradition becomes holy, now it's religion. And since it's false, a spirit will grab that and try to keep you in bondage to it. If you get set free from a spirit of religion you're going to have to break your religion mindset and fill your land with freedom. Does that make any sense? Did I explain that good enough so you get that? Whatever it is. It's empty. Therese lexicon calls empty cease from labor, free from labor, leisure to have leisure for a thing or give oneself a thing has to do with leisure. It all goes back to taking a spiritual holiday. Page 43, how does that apply to a Christian? When a demon was driven out, a huge spiritual work was accomplished and new territory in the person and their temple and their land opened up. This person is taking a spiritual break from any work they could be doing on themselves. They are taking it easy. They are taking the posture of spiritual leisure. They're not growing. They're not doing any spiritual work of any kind. In other words, they're not working. In other words, they're not working on much of anything to mature, grow and develop their spiritual life in their newfound freedom. They're just kind of sitting back lazy complacent or still just submitting. They could be just submitting to the religion or whatever it is. They're on a spiritual holiday vacation. You can't do that. If you get a spirit cast out, it was holding you bondage in some area. You have to change that area. You can't leave it the same. If you leave it the same, you're inviting them back in. It's like putting the welcome that up. Because they come back and it's not inhabited. It's empty. This person's on spiritual vacation. They haven't changed in anything. Number two, swept. To brush off meaning to broom, to sweep. Bottom of the page swept. What does it mean? They've cleaned some things up. Maybe they've gotten some things out of their life that helped cause the problem in the first place. They've cleaned some things up. But did they fill it with something else? Or is it still empty? It's empty, but cleaned up. See now, if that doesn't describe religion. Outside their whitewashed sepulchres, inside their stinking of dead men's bones. See, we're cleaned up. We present well. In fact, look at the next one. It goes along with that thought. To put in proper order, that is to decorate, to adorn, to garnish. There's lexicon there. It says to put an order, to arrange, to make ready, to prepare, to ornament, to adore. Metaphorically to embellish with honor, gain honor. How do you... Let's go to a church setting. Or let's go to relatives who are safe setting, who've been wanting you to get saved for years. And finally now you've gotten saved. How can you gain honor from them? Decorate yourself to be like them. This is in the physical, in the mental, in how we live. If they come you know, they say, hey, you're saved now, come to church with us. Okay, go and church with you. So you're watching them. And they come to church holding their Bible like this. And you look around and all the guys coming in hold their Bible like that. We'll decorate. And you start holding your Bible like that. And you will do exactly what it says there. You'll gain honor, you'll be embellished with honor. They're going to look at you and say, see, look at how fast they're changing. Isn't that awesome? Do you know one of the reasons when I came out of Bible college I refused to hold my Bible like this. I always carried it like this. That was the reason. I had recognized a spirit of religion and anybody with any how would you say, spiritual clout any pastor or official or whatever when they showed up carried the Bible like this. And something inside of me said something's wrong with that. Why are we copying each other? So I carried it like this. And I had people pointed out. That's an odd way to carry your Bible. See, now that's when you know you're really caught in religion. It actually makes a difference how I carry my Bible. This is more holy than this. Really? But see if we will conform and get our hair cut the right way where the right dress is where the right dress suits start doing what everybody's doing. Garnish. Ornament up a little bit. Put things in proper order decorate yourself a little bit. It will bring you honor and acceptance. That's what the demons are looking for. They want it empty. You're on a spiritual holiday. It's clean. Some things have changed in your life. But you haven't filled that area with the spirit of God or the opposite necessarily. But you're picking up ways to get at a boys. That's what they're looking for. Your prime candidate, they're going right back in. That's why I am and just it's just a small thing, but that's why I'm encouraged that we have people that wear all kinds of things to this church. We have some ladies who sit in church with stocking caps on. I think it's awesome, Molly. I think it's awesome. Sometimes during hunting season it hasn't happened in this building, but in the other one we had guys come in full orange. They were out hunting and they came in full orange and I pointed it out and I said, that's awesome. That's awesome. We're not so tied to a certain way we have to be to be accepted. That's one of the things demons look for. Because it falls into tradition and Jesus said, by your traditions you make the word of God of no value. We should be as different from each other as day as night. Why? Because that's how God created us. There's no two people the same. Do you ever look at anybody and see yourself in their face? Sometimes there's some resemblance, but nobody has your face. Nobody has your fingerprint. Nobody has your eye scan. We're all custom built. So why does the church think we all have to conform down and be a certain way? Because they got a spirit of religion. That's what it is. Garnish. This is referring to have prepared or made their house ready by decorating. It's like decorating for a guest or a party. Main problem, letter G at the bottom with this person after receiving deliverance. The main issue is they're not engaged spiritually. They're on vacation taking a spiritual holiday. They're not giving themselves to any form or effort to fill the spiritual emptiness that was left by the human leaving. They're not growing. They're not changing to become what God wants them to be. There's not spiritual movement. It's this attitude, page 45, number one that causes the problems. And then it lists some things that they should be doing. The scary part is verse 45, then go with he and take it with himself. Seven other spirits, more wicked, they enter and dwell there. And the last state is worse than the first. So shall it be unto this wicked generation. And it just takes those words apart in page 45 and 46. Dwell on page 47 means to house permanently or to reside. When they go back in and take up dwelling, the second time around was seven spirits worse. And now you got eight of them. If you had one, now you got eight. If you had ten, now you got 80. If you had 100, now you got 800. Because each one is going to try to do that. And their mindset is this time it's permanent. Remember I said last week, why would they go get seven more wicked than themself? Because they're trying to set it up. They never get cast out again. They have ownership. Their mindset is to dwell. Which the word Jesus used there means to house permanently. And the end result for that person is more evil or aggravated. It's worse than it was before. So while we're going through that I'm still looking for why the anointing was so strong to begin with. While we're going through that something stood out to me. Our feeling the need to conform not to God but to human standards to human traditions. The first Sunday I showed up for a we called it Easter service at that point. Resurrection Sunday. What's the tradition? Women get new dresses women get all dressed up guys get all spiffed up they wear their suits this that and the other. The first Sunday I told Mary said we're not doing it. This is wrong. And I don't I didn't wear a suit I don't remember what I wore but I didn't wear a I didn't wear a t-shirt but I didn't I wasn't that brave yet. But I didn't wear a suit I dressed down. It was it almost through the service in a ditch. Because people were so used to the tradition. It's wrong pastor do we need to give you a raise you don't have enough money to buy your wife a new dress. What's wrong pastor your children your daughters not wearing a new dress your sons are not in suits you know little guys when we conform when we conform to a human standard it's one of the three things it fits kind of two of them but the it's one of the three things that opens us up to demonic stuff now here is what was going through me and I'm sure we've all made that mistake and I'm sure we could all ask forgiveness and repent for it and say yeah Yeah, we might be living right now, certain ways, not because God's asked us to, but because of people around us, because of the church we go to, but whatever. We need to stop that. That's not God. But here's what was going through me. Not that. As much as, and I've said it two, three times, the rejection that happens when you don't measure up to the expected tradition or standard, it could be going to your in-laws for Thanksgiving. There's all kinds of traditions around the holidays. What if you don't conform? What happens? Some families may be nothing. Most families, especially if it's strong patriarchal or matriarchal, more matriarchal. In other words, it's strong mother or grandmother dominated. You show up breaking the traditions. They're going to let you know it. Right? Patriarchal does it sometimes, but mostly it's the old grandmas who've done it this way for 50, 60, 70 years and hell will freeze over if we're changing it now. Everybody has always brought a dish to add to the meal. You went to Walmart and just bought something? You didn't make it yourself? What kind of gatherings do you think this is? Is that all we mean to you? And you've heard some of this stuff. You came without a certain kind of gift. You came without being dressed a certain way. And here is what happens. We get our feelings hurt. Sometimes we nurse that wound. And we hang on to it. And then times we will start skipping certain events, whether it be church or family or whatever. Because somebody said something, somebody did something, we didn't measure up somehow. You know what is starting to take place? Unforgiveness is starting to build. Bitterness is starting to build. Could even be a smack of rebellion. I'll show you. I ain't doing it. I ain't doing it that way anymore. You go ahead and blow your little hissy. It's fine with me. I just won't show up. And then we'll lie. Are you coming? Oh no, I got my, my, my, my. Truth is, your feelings are hurt. You're angry. The last time you showed up, not conforming to everything, you heard about it. And you made up your mind, but you'll never tell them that. You'll lie to them. Well, you know, we, we thought we're going to go out of town this time. We got some friends who invited us and blah, blah, blah. Is that the real reason? No. You might be doing that, but it, you know, the Lord pointed something out to me a few years back that is, it's this right here. He asked me this question. Can you say something that's true without saying the truth? That was the question he asked me. I really had to ponder that because like, is this a trick question? What, what is this? I really had to ponder that. And I started running scenarios and then he started pointing it out to me. It's when we will say something that might be true, but it's not the real reason we're making the decision the way we're making it. The real reason might cause an explosion, might cause us to have to, let me give you an example. I say something that'll offend somebody in the church. Okay? They're going to leave the church over that rather than dealing with it and communicating about it and fixing this. No, they're just going to leave the church. So I ask them, are we okay? Is everything okay? Why are you leaving the church? Well, so-and-so goes there and they're part of the family. And you know, we've thought for a long time it might be, and that could all be true. It might be nice to be closer to family when we go to church and this, that and the other. So we decided to just do that and, you know, hope you're good with that. You know, it's more of a personal decision as why. That might be true and they might have been thinking about that for years. But the truth is, they're offended with me. And they're not going to say it. So now the big question is that I'm not going to answer is this. Does that, does God consider what they said a lie even though it's true? Does he consider that a lie or not? Because folks, we do it all the time. Rather than cause a bigger problem, rather than cause more waves, we will say something that's true. But we won't say the truth. Hey, you coming over to the house this afternoon, we're in and done a Super Bowl. Super Bowl's coming and we're going to have people over. Why don't you come on? Well, then the day comes. They didn't want to come. There could be any reason they didn't want to come. Well, I don't think we're going to be able to make it. You know, the kids didn't sleep well last night. Could be true. And I don't know. We don't want to put them through that. So we're just going to stay home. Could all be true. The kids didn't sleep well last night. But the truth is what? What is the real reason? Hey, maybe didn't want to go. Could be anything. But we will give something that's palatable. Now, we did that because we've already been hurt. And we don't want to get hurt more or again. And we know good and well. If we tell grandma, what you said to me last Thanksgiving, hurt my feelings, embarrassed me, made me feel like a fool in front of the whole family. I am not interested in your Thanksgiving. Grandma's going to tell the whole family. And now the whole family is going to be all over us for how wrong we are. We don't want to go through it. So we'll make up something or plan something. That's true. But it's not the truth. It's not the real reason. So at the base of that is a wound, is hurt. At the base of that is fear. You're absolutely right. At the base of that is fear. Because we're afraid it's going to happen again or something worse is going to happen if we actually say the truth. At the base of that could be from God's perspective, even though what we're saying is true could be lying. He could consider that a lie. Because the real reason you're not going to Thanksgiving is not because your friends across town invited you. Even though they did invite you and you might even be going to their house for Thanksgiving. The real reason you took them up on that is not because they invited you. It's because of what happened. You're in the middle of this. We have a person who's hurt, who could be unforgiving, could be getting better. Unforgiveness could be growing, could be lying. And then we wonder why we're not living in freedom. And we've all experienced that. We've all experienced that. One way or another, I could give you all kinds of examples from my personal life. All experienced it. Rather than filling that part of us with truth, with transparency, we dress it up. We garnish it. We're trying to make ourselves palatable to the person, to the church, to the in-laws, to whatever, without really saying the truth. So we dress it up. We make it look good. Since we're harboring an offense, since we're harboring a wound, that part of us is not spiritually full of God. Can't be, because we're not living in truth. So I can't say what's true. It totally. There'd be a blow up in the church like you wouldn't believe, or in the family, or in the marriage. It's just better if she doesn't know. And what I told her was true. I did have to stop and fill gas, and I got talking to a guy at the gas station on the way home. That was true. But the other couple of things that took a little longer, she doesn't need to know that, because if I tell her that, this isn't going to go well. We've all been on the receiving end of that, and we've all been on the giving end of that. And that sets us up for spiritual trouble. And I think that's what God wanted pointed out. So we can pray about it and deal with it. Right now. For those of you online, right now. Confess your sins, confess your faults, so you may be healed. And we don't have to remember at all. But we can confess it and say, Holy Spirit, show me whatever I need to deal with, at least from here forward. If there are some heavy wounds from things past, then we need to get healing. And God will heal us. He's not going to beat us over the head and say, Well, you did it wrong. So now you can suffer. No, he'll heal us. And he'll fix that. He'll bind up that broken heart or that wound. And he'll fix it so we can go on doing it the right way. So if this identifies, there's always some kind of action that's good. Even for those of you who are online. There's some kind of action that's good. I'm going to ask the people here who identify with this to stand. And we're going to pray together. You can do the same thing. Get off the couch, stand up. We're going to pray together. We're going to ask God to forgive us for anything we did wrong in that whole scenario. We're going to forgive whoever the other people are, whether it's a church we've been at, whether it's other Christians, whether it's a family situation, whatever it is, we're going to forgive them. In other words, we're going to turn them over to God. He's going to deal with it. It's not letting them off the hook. It's getting it off of us. We're not wanting to punish them anymore. We're not wanting them to get theirs. We're setting them free. It's between them and God. And whatever God decides with them is good with us. We're going to forgive them. We're going to send it away. So, we're going to ask forgiveness. We're going to give forgiveness. And then we're going to ask the Lord to help us be more aware of this in the future. Okay? So, repeat after me. Dear Jesus, I love you. I love you and I want to obey you. You are truth. Your holy spirit is the spirit of truth. And I want to conform to truth tonight. I ask forgiveness for the times I was not truthful with how I felt or how I perceived something that happened to me or that I was a part of. I ask you to forgive me for giving false reasons for what was going on inside of me. And I forgive them for what was said and what was done. I turn that over to you, Lord. However, you want to handle that. That's up to you. I forgive them. And I'm asking that as I now submit myself to you, Father, to you, Jesus, to you, Holy Spirit, and as I resist and want nothing of the kingdom of darkness active in me because of these things that have happened and what I've done. I command any demonic thing that has access to me in any way. Leave me now. And Holy Spirit, you're the teacher, the counselor now. Fill this realm of my life with truth, with wisdom, and insight to know how to be honest, to be truthful, without attacking someone else, just expressing my perspective, but saying what the real truth is. Cleanse me. Change the way I think. Change my habit patterns. I am determined to be more like you and to change in this area. In Jesus' name, amen. You can be seated. Just wait a minute or two. That was really big. If you could feel that in the spirit, that was really big. So just wait a bit.
