So let's jump in. We are on page 48. And tonight I'm going to say what I said last week that did not happen. I'm going to try to get done with this book tonight. We'll see if that happens. I might have to skip through some things and let you read it at home. Page 48, the need for every believer to learn self-deliverance. The best way to stay clean and free spiritually is to recognize when something's happening to us and then we personally address it right away. Don't wait. You don't need a counseling appointment. You just need to use your authority. Take your stand and say no. And it becomes very easy that way to deal with stuff. And the whole self-deliverance thing, like I was explaining to someone today, I said, in 1 John 2, you've got the child. You've got the young man. It explains that age group. And then you've got the fathers. The distinguishing part for the young man is that's the age we learn to overcome the evil one. So there is a phase that all of us go through in spiritual growth where we have to deal with the spiritual world, the demonic spiritual world. And if we don't learn how to do that, we're never going to grow through that phase. So there is a phase of our Christian experience that we have to grow through that and we have to learn that. That is the phase that works really good to understand self-deliverance and make that phase of our personal growth very quick. That doesn't have to go on for two decades. We can get through that young man's stage and learn how to overcome the evil one because that's the defining characteristic of that stage. We learn how to overcome the evil one. Well, it doesn't take us the rest of our life to do that. It shouldn't. So we can get that through that phase pretty quickly if we set our mind to it. And one of the things that helps us get through that is knowing that when something comes up or we recognize something's harassing us or we're struggling with something, deal with it. Right there. Boom. Self-deliverance. Whether it's a harassment from the outside, get rid of it. Whether it's something that got into your flesh, get rid of it. You don't have to wait. Just get it out. Get it going. So the need for every believer to learn self-deliverance is really important. This is again going back to the picture in Judges chapter two. And that whole generation had been gathered to the fathers. Another generation grew up who neither knew the Lord nor what he had done for Israel. So here we go again. We're going to have the whole thing repeat verse 11. So that new generation did evil in the eyes of the Lord and served the Baals and forsook the Lord and go down towards the bottom. Verse 14, in his anger the Lord handed them over to raiders. He sold them whatever you want. Here you go. Have at it. Page 49 verse 16, middle of the page. Then the Lord raised up judges. You know, once they were in bondage long enough, they realized, yeah, this is probably not right. Well, then they started calling out to the Lord for help. So then he'd raise up a judge or a person to deliver them. And it says there, verse 16, then the Lord raised up judges who saved them out of the hands of the raiders. Yet they would not listen to their judges, but prostituted themselves to other gods and worship them. Unlike their fathers, they quickly turned away or they quickly turned from the way in which their fathers had walked the way of obedience to the Lord's command. So you had this cycle starting and took place. And God got tired of the cycle. He hates the cycle in us. When it's like, now we're doing really good spiritually. Now we're doing really bad spiritually. Now we're doing really good spiritually. Next month we're doing really bad spiritually. Then for three months we're doing really good spiritually. And then for a half a year it's like, oh, it's really bad. And this cycle gets going. God hates that cycle. And this is what he will do with that cycle. It's on page 49 at the top. He'll do with us basically the same thing he did with them. Therefore, because they were in the cycle thing, the Lord was very angry with Israel and said, because this nation has violated the covenant that I laid down for their forefathers and has not listened to me, I will no longer drive out before them any of the nations Joshua left when he died. And the nations there, the enemies, are representative of what we're talking about as they represent demonic stuff coming against us. He's not going to drive them out anymore. Why? Because it's not a game. And he's tired of the cycle. It's not doing us any good. It's not helping anything. It's just bad attitude stuff where we obey for a while, then we go off and descend to our own thing. Oh, then, oh, that's really bad. So God deliver us. And then we obey for a while and we go back. He finally says, nope, I'm not going to help you get out of it so quickly this time. Verse 22, I will use them to test Israel and see whether they will keep the way of the Lord and walk in it as their forefathers did. The Lord had allowed those nations to remain. He did not drive them out at once by giving them into the hands of Joshua. Then it lists some of the nations. These are the nations that the Lord left all those Israelites who had not experienced any of the wars in Canaan. He left those nations or those enemies. He did this only to teach warfare to the descendants of the Israelites who had not had previous battle experience. So let's apply that. You got saved. You were growing in the Lord. You're doing good. You found something that was a stronghold and you got to dealt with whether self-deliverance or someone helped you pray with it or through it or whatever. And boom, fairly quickly and easily it was gone. But down the road a little ways you started kind of playing games spiritually and maybe even went back into the same thing. My experience, if you went back in ignorantly, he might bail you out twice very easily. After that you're going to fight to get free. He just doesn't kick it out for you. Perfect case in point and you can call it demonic. You can call it not whatever different people have different ideas on it. Perfect case in point for instance is any kind of addiction. Alcoholism, drug addiction, porn addiction, any kind of addiction. You can get delivered from it set free from it really quickly. First time. Now be careful. You don't get sloppy. Because I've known people who were... we've prayed for people who were one lady. This was back in... and there might be a time or two I may cough a bit. I'm just working on a cough drop here to get it in my mouth. This is one of the times. This was back in 19... I'm going to say 88 or 89. This is a good 30 years ago, maybe more. There was a lady who ended up coming to the daycare and so forth. Long story short, she had in the late 80s, she had a $300 a day heroin habit. In the 80s. A day. It's like, wow. She got set free instantaneously. No withdrawals. She got... no God. And it was kind of funny. Mary says the story more accurately than I, but she came into the pick up her child one day at daycare and she said, I heard your ministers. Mary said, yeah. She said, okay, I'll answer that question. Why were we doing daycare? Because we weren't getting enough money from the church to live. Okay, so we're working on the side. So Mary's doing daycare and heard your ministers. Yep. She said, well, I don't know about this whole God thing, but my life is such a mess. If God can help me, I need God. It's like, well, that's easy. So she got saved. Real shortly thereafter, she got baptized in the Holy Spirit. And I can't remember the timing. Mary would remember the timing on when the drug thing came out. I don't know if that came out right away or that was a few days later. But then she got instantly set free of drugs. And we emphasized, do not play with this. Because this is how this works. God just did a miracle in your life. You're now free. If you make the choice, well, I was at a party. You know how it works? I was with some friends and they offered me something. And, you know, we used to do it. And I thought, well, just once wouldn't hurt anything. If you make that choice, it's going to grab you and suck you right back under. And the next time around, may not be so easy to get free. Because sometimes when God does those miraculous, quick, easy things for us, we just kind of take him for granted. And it's like, well, he did it for me before. He'll do it again. He may not, depending upon our attitude. So he, in her case, she took us very seriously and she never went back. And she was free from that prayer on. She had no withdrawals, no desires, no cravings, nothing. Then there are some other people that God did the same thing for. But they went to a party or they were with friends or this and the other. And I didn't think, you know, they just offered me one hit. I thought, I'll just do one and I'll be fine. Boom. Almost like the habit just started up like it did before. Oh, here we come running for prayer. Oh God. Prayed the same prayer, did the same stuff. And they struggled for months and months to get free the next time around. It can be any kind of, it can be, I see it the most in smoking. I mean, that one's, it's almost like, okay, there goes another one. What's the principle there? When God does, it's right there on the top of page 48, when God does something awesome for you, whether it's kicking out demons or whatever, if you play with that and get reentangled, he might do it twice and just do an awesome quick thing the second time also. But if this becomes a game at all, a cycle, like it did for them, he'll say, you deal with your drugs. You've got to learn how to war this. Right now, this is a game. You're going to learn war now. Now you're going to learn to fight. And it's that second man, that, that young man stage. You're going to learn to overcome the evil one. I did it for you. It was real easy and you were free. And now you're entangled against it. Now this time you're going to learn it. That is, that principle is so true when it comes to a deliverance, seeing it over and over and over. And the second, third time around, people will have to literally fight the fight of faith. The first time around it's like, this was just a gift. And that's exactly what it was, just a gift. And then they played with and lost it. And the second time, third time, they will fight for months to get the same freedom they had previously. You say, well, why is God doing that? Because he's going to teach you how to war. He's going to teach us that these things just don't come cheaply or easily all the time. Don't presume on the grace of God. And that's exactly what it is. It's kind of just presuming on the grace of God. I will go out and live like I want to tonight and tomorrow I'll ask forgiveness and it'll all be clean and gone and everything's fine. I don't want to stand in front of God having done that. Because first of all, you're playing a game. What makes you think God has to forgive you? When you're coming with premeditated, premeditated. I mean, you thought this through. Well, I'll just, you know, God, God forgives. I'll confess my sin when I go to church tomorrow. Saturday night, we're going to live it big. You have premeditated and planned this thing all the way through. And then you come to God. How does God even know you're sincere? He said, well, God sees my heart. That could be the biggest point against you right there. He sees your heart. And he knows good and well. You're going to go out and do it again. You can't play this game. So this is a huge principle, like it says there in the middle of the page. We can only play around with the enemy for a time and when we get entangled with them again, when we do that, there will come a time when God will not come so quickly and easily to set us free because we took it for granted. We did some presumptuous things. And now he's going to try to mature us rather than just hand it to us like on a silver platter. Page 50, the result is he's going to test us. What do we really want here? Do we really want to serve God? Do we really want to be free? And in the test, he's going to teach us how to fight the fight of faith. We're going to learn how to war. The purpose is to produce warriors and disciples rather than what he has at that moment. And they will find their freedom again, but they're going to earn it. And you know, once you fought with something for a month, two months, six months, eight months, you're not so quick to let it go once you get it that time. Once you've gained the ground, it costs us something. And it's not so quick to just, I think I'll go out on Saturday night and I'll ask forgiveness on Sunday. I knew what Saturday night did about nine months ago and I ain't doing that again. It's the last nine months been hell. It changes us and that's what God's after. Page 51. This is basically an opening up of Ephesians 6 and fortifying our temple, making us strong so that once we're clean, we don't end up just empty swept and garnished and something moves back in. All of us have heard Ephesians 6. This explains it some too. If you want to go through it, I'll let you do that, but we're not going to go line by line. I do want to go to page 52 and point something out though. 52, middle of the page number three. All the pieces of the armor are mindsets or attitudes of the soul. For whatever reason, some, I don't know if we as ministers present it wrong or what, but somehow Christians miss that. It's like, well, I'm going to put on the breastplate of righteousness. This isn't a physical thing you can put up. Well, I'm going to put it on spiritually. Do you know how you put it on? Righteousness. You do what is right in God's eyes. Well, I'm going to put on the belt of truth and I'll get out of bed and there now the belt of truth is on. I'm protected. No. The belt of truth is you are living in truth. You're not lying. You're not deceiving. You're living in truth. These are all mindsets. These are all choices we make with our soul. Letter A, the constant conscious awareness of our salvation. The helmet of salvation covers our thinking, our head. The constant awareness of we're saved. We're different. We're pulled out of the kingdom of darkness. We're supposed to think different. We're supposed to act different. We operate in a different realm of authority. We do not submit to the things of the world like the world does. We live thinking what our salvation has done for us. That's how you put the helmet on. Righteousness, truth touched on both. Letter D, peace with God ourselves and as possible with others. How do you get peace in your life? You get peace with God. You get peace with yourself. And as much as possible, like Paul said, you try to live at peace with others. That's how you shod your feet with peace so that where you walk, peace is there. So what Paul did is he took a Roman soldier's armor and tried to describe the shift and the change we have to have, we'll just call it mentally or in our soul, to stay protected. You can't put on the belt of truth when you get out of bed. Oh Lord, today I put on the belt of truth. Protect me from any kind of lying or deceiving spirits that would try to get me, blah, blah, blah, blah. And then at work, hey, did you get that project done yet? We lie to them. Well, I'm protected because I put the belt of truth on. You just took it off by lying. The belt of truth is a picture of we live by truth. We do not lie. Say, what happens if I do? Well, what's Paul talking about here? We wrestle not against flesh and blood. We're wrestling against the evil side of principalities. Well, what if I do lie? You might pick up a demon. That's what Paul's talking about. We have to protect ourselves. We have to keep ourselves in a position. And then when we do slip up, which everybody does, confess your sins quickly, quickly. Don't play games with it. Once the Holy Spirit points it out to you, confess it, get it behind you, and his faithful and just to forgive and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness. That is the point when I say in anything, any demonic thing that would have got a hold of me because I missed it. That's usually the point. I'll hear them. Don't say that. Don't worry about it. You didn't get nothing. I've heard those kind of little statements. You're so mature in God, nothing could get you anyway. It's like I picked something up. He's talking to me now. So then I just directly address it. Nope. I heard you. The Holy Spirit knows who and what you are and how many of you there are. Whether you're outside or inside, I don't care. But in the name of Jesus, then I go through what we talked about in the spiritual warfare basics booklet in the name of Jesus. And I come in the authority of the blood of Jesus. My words carry the faith. In Jesus' name, you get out of here. I confess my sin. I will not let you remain here whatsoever. Get out of here. Be gone. Never return to me. We haven't talked about casting them in the pit yet. We will at some point. Haven't gone there yet. But immediately, self-deliverance. And like I said, deliverance is not necessarily something inside. It can be something outside that's harassing you. Well, get rid of it. Don't live your life with this thing harassing you. Get rid of it. It can talk to you. It can affect your emotions. It can affect your thinking. As soon as you recognize it, get rid of it. Get it gone. The way to stay free is to live in the armor and to have it on and to live it. And that's all we're going to deal with on that. Now go to page 56, which is your handout. Or if they have it online and you looked it up, you just go over to 56. I was debating on putting this in the next booklet, which is going to be kind of like a catch-all. We're going to cover all kinds of subjects in the next booklet that deal with this, the realm of the demonic realm. These first two booklets have been dealing basically with deliverance stuff. The next booklet will cover all kinds of stuff. I was going to put it there and I thought, no, it actually fits better in this booklet. So I put it into here. So let me read that first paragraph. We've talked a lot about the scriptural and logical sides of deliverance. Now we're going to look deeper at the soul and the gateways are doors that are often present with demonic issues. This is a very important concept in the realms of seeing someone get free from the demonic and their past. We got to see the doors, the gateways. So even though this is a short section, please don't underestimate the importance of it. So I explained there the part that we are three part being spirit, soul and body. Letter A, the physical body's a dust. The spirit is the breath that God breathed into Adam and we became a living soul or the interface between our spirit person and being able to run our body. Here's how they play out and being affected by demons. An unsaved person can be possessed because possession means ownership or you have it under your control. Saved people cannot be possessed because we are bought by the blood. We are out of the kingdom of darkness translated into the kingdom of his dear son. The demonic realm can no longer own us. So now stop and think about this and apply that a little deeper. Paul explained it some in Ephesians chapter two, those first three verses, how that when someone is unsaved, I hear people say this and if it's okay, I'll try to correct it when they're saying it. Well, the whole world are all God's children, garbage. Well, every human being is God's child. No, we are not. No, we are not. We're God's creation. But to be his child, we have got to be brought back into the family by the blood and be redeemed, ransom back out of that until we are brought out of that and bought back. That's what the word redeemed means. You redeemed something. It was deemed and then it lost it. So now you redeemed it back and by the blood, we've been deemed back into the body of Christ, the family of God. He's now our father. That has to happen before we're God's children. He bought us back. Well, until he, until that happened in my life, who was I owned by? I was owned by Satan. I was not God's child. I was Satan's child. He was my father. That's exactly what Jesus said about the scribes and the Pharisees. He said, you are of your father, the devil. The whole concept of your human being, your God's child, is purely false. Your God's child, when he buys you back and brings you back into the family, up until that point, the kingdom of darkness owns you. That's why when you die, you go to your owner. You're going to go to God to be judged. He's going to tell you why you're going, where you're going. You made the choice to stay under the ownership of the devil and his kingdom. Being under his ownership, you go to be with your owner. Well, God shouldn't send people to hell. He don't. You never switched owners. We were sold. What does Scripture say? We were sold under sin. Sin sold us to that kingdom. That's why Paul calls us slaves. Slaves to sin or slaves to righteousness. Because we're either bought like a slave for this kingdom, God's kingdom, or we're sold as a slave into that kingdom. We don't own ourselves. We're owned by that one or we're owned by this one. Until we're owned by this one, we're owned by that one. Unsaid people are owned by that one. The word that is used is possessed. If I own something, I possess it. I have possession of it. It's mine. Since it's mine, I can do with it what I want. I can have bought a brand new car and turn the windows up and stick a hose in the top crack of the window and fill the whole thing with water if I want and destroy the whole thing. It's mine. I possess it. So when you're owned by that kingdom, that kingdom can do whatever they want in you. They can fill you with demons. They can do all kinds of stuff. They own you. Once you're bought out of that kingdom and you come over into God's kingdom, now they no longer have ownership rights. They like to think they do and they'll press the issue. That's why the guy that helped me with deliverance, he always called them either trespassers or squatters. He said when that kingdom starts messing with Christians, all they're doing is trespassing. But they'll trespass if we let them. We have to say no. Or they'll come and set up camp and be squatters, living in our life, just messing our life up if we let them. The same way, once we were brought out of that kingdom, over to this kingdom, the right to keep us sick and diseased and ill health and everything was there. But even though we're in this kingdom, if we don't take our rights, our authority, by faith, it'll just come move in with us if we let it. So we have to learn these things and we have to apply the authority given to us. So the whole point I'm making here is an unsaved person can be owned or possessed by the devil. They have not been purchased. They've not been bought back yet. Page 57, they've not been translated out of that kingdom into the other one. Letter B, as saved born again people, we cannot be owned or possessed by devils or demons. Can Christians be possessed? No, absolutely not. We're bought by the blood. We've been translated out of that kingdom. I give you all kinds of scriptures there to give you the basics on that. So let us see. So what are believers experiencing when the demonic realm is coming against them? It's not possession or ownership. I did not use the word squatters or trespassers. I could have put it in here, but I used the word that is the actual Greek word in the gospels. It's demonized. Demonization. They're being harassed, tormented, infiltrated, buffeted, vexed, trespassed, squatters moved in, but they're not owned. They're not possessed. Now, the three part being. Demonization is actually a soul body thing. Once you are born again, brought from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light, you spiritually have been brought back to life. You're a new creation in Christ. Demons can't touch your spirit. But they really harass you in the physical and the soul realm. But spiritually, they can't touch you. You're a new creation. The only way they can get any authorities if you give it to them, kind of like Adam and Eve did and like Satan was trying to get Jesus to do, but he never gave it to them. But our spirit, when we're born again, our spirit is a new creation. We're brand new. Someone can come to the front and get saved. And we see no difference in them because it was their spirit that was given new life and born again. And we can't see their spirit. Their body hasn't changed, you know, from our eyesight, hasn't changed at all. Now, scientifically, they say if they will test the person's blood before they're saved and right after they're saved, after they're saved, there's markers in the blood that are different than before. So literally something happens physically, but we can't see it. So from our perspective, they didn't change physically. They may not have changed much in their soul. They may still be, you know, some people get really changed at salvation, and some people, it's like a sanctification process. I remember some of the funnier ones where one guy got saved on a Sunday morning and we had Sunday night services and then we would have some Sunday nights we'd have testimony time. And he got saved on a Sunday morning, came to church, got saved, didn't know what it's all about, got saved, radically saved. Came back on Sunday night, it was testimony time. So he kind of, you know, asked, well, what do we do here, what are we doing? I said, well, share something that God's done for you. Well, he just got saved. He said, okay, he got up. That's what he said. I don't know what the hell happened to me this morning. But blankety blank, I am not the same person. And I'm going, see, your soul hasn't changed all that much yet. Your mind, your will, your intellect, the way you talk, your speech, hasn't changed much. Physically, you haven't changed, but spiritually, you're a brand new man. And you're feeling that. And I don't know what the blank happened, but something happened. Well, he felt his spirit was made brand new. You know what's interesting? He's a missionary. He's been a missionary for years. Works in Germany. Started out by testifying and cussed all the way through. The demonic realm works in the physical and the soul, because the physical can never be renewed. It has to be controlled. No place in the Bible does it say our physical man can be renewed in the things of God. It is an enemy of God, it hates God, it has fallen. And the only way it will ever be anything for God is when we get our new body and the old one has changed. The soul can be changed. Our mind, our will, our emotions, our thinking, it can be renewed. It can be changed so that we think different. We talk different. We act different. It can be changed. That change flows from the spirit that was instantly brought back to life and made a new creation. Then the Holy Spirit works through that spirit to work on the soul to get it to change while the demonic comes from the physical side to work on the soul to get it to be more like it or keep it sinful. This is a huge principle. When you are tempted to do something that is not God, it always comes through your flesh, always, comes through the five senses. When God wants you to do something, it always comes through your spirit, never comes through your flesh. You feel the conviction in your spirit. You feel the leading in your spirit. You get the unction, the pull in your spirit. The demonic doesn't have access to your spirit, so they take up residence and work with the flesh to affect your mind, will, emotions, the soul. The spirit is brand new and the Holy Spirit comes and works with your spirit to affect the mind, will, emotions and change it, renew the mind. The war is in the soul. The war is in the mind, will, emotions. So when it comes to demonization, they come in through the physical to influence us, to affect us, but their target is our thinking, our decision making, our, what are you going to do with this? The spirit, God's spirit, our spirit comes from the other side, tries to affect our soul. So when I say demonization is largely a thing of the soul and the physical, that's what I'm trying to explain. Christians are possessed and owned by God. They're brand new creations in Christ. That spirit can't be touched by demons, but the soul can still be affected as demons work through the physical side. That's why everything that tries to take us away from God lures us through the flesh. And John summed it up in three things. Lust of the eye, lust of the flesh, the pride of life. All three of them come through the physical human body, which is fallen and can never be renewed until it gets resurrected as a new body. We have to learn to control it. But the whole realm of of everything we're tempted with comes through the physical body side. That's where the demons hang out, because they're trying to get us to go the opposite direction of what our spirit's talking. So that's explained there in page 57 58. Go to the bottom of page 58. Let's talk about being demonized here just a little bit. This is the word Jesus used. I give you the Greek word there. It means to be demonized or to be a demon. It's describing the state of a person. So if you watch someone who was demonized, it would be like, wow, they are like, they're acting just like a demon now. But the word gives room for a realm of a variableness. You can be mildly affected by demons like one, two, three, all the way up to 10. Where man, this is over the top. This kid is foaming at the mouth and throwing himself in the fire. And this is a major issue like the one that Jesus dealt with or Legion. Legion wasn't a mild issue. This guy had 6,000 minimums, 6,000 demons. They couldn't chain him and hold him. He'd break the chains. He lived in the graveyard cutting himself and wailing and making all kinds of weird noises and all kinds of stuff. This was not a one or two or three case. This was a major nine or tenor. Really demonized. That's that word. It gives a, it gives a progressive kind of like a variableness to it. It goes on there and explains the word page 59. And that's all stuff you can read. But what it 59 and 60, top of 60, talks about it also. I think it's self-explanatory. If you look up the word demonized in Webster, it will go to demon. Or if you hit it again, then it will give you demonized. It gives you two definitions. One is the same definition as for demon. The other is a little different. I've got them both there. But you've got the definitions there. You've got the explanations of what what demonized means. So page 60, letter D. When someone is demonized, they're usually referring to the operation of a demon from the inside. But that's not necessarily a hard and fast rule that can talk about outward attacks also. Remember the three part being, the demonic spirit will live in the physical body number two right at the bottom. And will try to affect the spirit of the person through the soul. Exactly the opposite of what I just explained to you. God works from the spirit on the soul. Demons work from the physical body side on the soul. The soul is the warground. The soul is the part that needs renewing. The difficult part. Page 61, oh about three quarters of the way down. It starts by saying the difficult part is that the soul gravitates toward or craves the things of the body and the flesh, not the spirit. It comes out of Psalms 1 19 25. My soul cleaves to the dust. So if it's just left up to our soul to decide it leans towards the flesh and whatever the demons are trying to do there, because it gravitates towards that. Much more than it gravitates for the spirit. Why? Because the things of the flesh are fun. Let's just call it what it is. They're pleasurable for a season. That's how scripture describes it. You can get into the things of the world and sin and the mnemonic and what your flesh wants to do and you can have a blast for a while. It'll give you enough rope to when it pulls back, it'll hang you. But in the meantime, it's a lot of fun. Well, the soul, yours and mine, our mind, our will, our emotions, our intellect, our reasoning, well, we like fun. Let's go have fun. Where the spirit's saying, don't go to that party, you're going to get in trouble. Stay away. Oh, what fun is that? So the soul gravitates to the flesh. The spirit says, say the truth. Don't lie. Say the truth. Yeah, but that'll be problems. And here comes ideas. Can be from the flesh, can be from the demonic realm, can be from whatever, can be the old nature. Here comes ideas. Well, just say this. Just say that and you can get out of the whole thing. Put the blame on her. Just shuffle. Get it off of you. Put it on somebody over here. Well, the soul thinks, that's a good idea. Why should I take the rap for this when I can make them look bad? So the soul will gravitate to the flesh just naturally. It likes the dirt. We're made out of dirt. So in this being able to deal with things, realize you're going to gravitate to the wrong things the most naturally. A two, three, four-year-old who has not learned any self-control whatsoever yet will lie to you, will steal, will kick you, will hit you in the face and say, I hate you, will manipulate you. The ice cream truck. Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding. Oh, mommy, I want the ice cream on. You haven't been good. Oh, mommy, I love you so much. It's manipulating you. You don't have to teach it that whether it's a boy or girl makes a difference. You don't have to train them that. That's in the flesh. And the soul gravitates to the flesh. So it's one of these things we have to recognize to really get free and to stay on top of it. So now go to page 62. We answered this question already, but now we're going to take it a little deeper tonight and finish this. So here's the big question. How did the demons get into the person's body? How'd they get into the flesh? What gives them the right or the access? Well, we discussed that previously in this book quite a depth and we discussed it in the spiritual warfare basics. And the thing that we talked about the most was connected with sin somehow. Okay, so now with that in mind, let's go a level deeper on this. This is what happens most of the time and it doesn't make any difference if we're talking personal sin, generational sin, sins of the father's, anything like that. This one key element, one key point, seems to be here all the time. They've been wounded. The person has been wounded. It's when we are wounded and we don't handle the wound correctly. The demon will move in and sit on that wound and it's usually an emotional wound. Anytime you're dealing with people trying to get them free. Now, sometimes you cast demons out before you deal with the wound. Sometimes you deal with the wound before you can cast a demon out. Whatever the Holy Spirit leads makes no difference. But to keep them free, they have to deal with their wound. For instance, I'll just use a simple one. So you had a child who was a strong-willed child and a parent who didn't, maybe parents who didn't know really how to deal with the child, whatever. But as the child was growing up, the parents did their best to control the strong-willed child, but it didn't work out that great. So by the time the child is grade school or junior high, don't be pointing any fingers here to anybody. By the time we get to that point, the child is beginning to hate the parent, okay? And they will tell the parent, you know, kids that age have no problem looking at their mom and saying, I hate you. There's a wound. Where's that hate coming from? They've already got a wound. Now, whether the wound is a, you know, as adults, we look in and go, seriously, I didn't let them go over to their friend's house one night and now we're wounded. You know, well, that's because we've been wounded so much worse and so much deeper, theirs doesn't seem like much. But to them, it might be the biggest wound they've experienced this far. Because they're growing in this. If they don't handle that wound correctly, and of course as a child, it's our job as parents to try to help them do that, if that wound is nurtured any length of time, almost 100% guaranteed a demon will move in to enhance that wound. So let's say the wound was hate towards parents. Okay. Well, here they are an adult. They're 37 years old and they're needing, every, you know, things in life are just really going bad. They get saved or they come back to the Lord, whatever, and they need deliverance. Okay. So here you got these demons that were attached to that hate of the parents. Okay. So let's just kick the demons out. Never deal with the wound. They're going to be a landing pad. Because now going back to empty, swept and garnished, they haven't filled that spot in them with the things of the kingdom of God. It's still filled with hate and anger and bitterness and maybe unforgiveness. So when it comes to the things of God, they might have decorated it up, they might be coming to church, they might be carrying their Bible, they might be looking good. But when it comes to the demons looking back in, they're going to see them empty, swept and garnished, because the kingdom of God hasn't moved in and filled that thing that gave the demons the right to be there in the first place. So at some point, that wound has to be dealt with or you're going to get re-inhabited. That little principle is almost 100 percent. You know, nothing is 100 percent, but that one is really close. Most demons sit on wounds because in the wounds is our unforgiveness, in the wounds is our bitterness, in the wounds is our hate. In the wounds is our desire for revenge. It's all tied up in that wound and out of that wound, if it's not handled right, grows the sin. The sin is what gives them the right to move in and they nurture that sin. So when we're talking here, if you go to letter F, this is how it builds. There's a wound, a lie forms. So let's go with the child who thinks they're, you know, they hate their parents. A lie forms around whatever the wound was and it could be a multiple things, maybe it wasn't just a one-time happening or whatever. But a lie starts forming. My parents never did want me. My parents have always hated me. I've always been the one they picked on. The older brother, oh, you could do it. Little sister, oh, but me, they've always had it in for me. My parents would just be happy once I move out and get out of their life. And, you know, lies start building around that wound. They're not from God. They're not truth. They're lies. But the person believes the lie. That's what keeps the wound open, an open wound. Truth will come and heal the wound. As long as they're holding on to the lies of what they really believe. Why do you hate your parents? My parents never wanted me. Okay, what happened to you that brought you to that conclusion? Because that is a lie. So something happened here that wounded you and you believed a lie. Where'd the lie come from? I can guarantee you where it came from. Came from the physical side. Could have been demonic input. Could have been you having a pity party in your in your old nature. Your flesh could have been any of that. But the lie came in and came into your soul, into your thinking. And you went, yeah, I'll bet that's it. So you've got this lie that is built, built around a wound. The lie is where the sin comes out of. Not necessarily the wound. You know, we've all been wounded. You don't have to sin when you're wounded. Perfect case in point in that one is Jesus. You talk about wounded before he died. And he never sinned. He never, he never picked up a bad attitude. He never grabbed the lie. He had a perfect opportunity to grab a lie. Father, father, why have you forsaken me? He could have come to the conclusion. God betrayed him and abandoned him. But he didn't. He was just wondering, where are you? I kind of need you now. He was severely wounded emotionally, mentally, physically. He never picked up the lie. So as a result, he never sinned. The wound is not the sin. It's the lies that build, that cause us the unforgiveness, the hate, the bitterness, the desire for revenge. The, I'll never talk to my parents again once I leave the house. See, that's all tied into sin. That's where the demons come. To enhance and protect and work with that sin. They gain entrance that way, and then the top. Now they're demonized, the person's demonized. Now, what level or scale they're on in that scale, 1 to 10? I don't know where they're at. But almost 100% of the time, a person's demonization, whether it's sins of the father's, familiar spirits, makes no difference. They land on a wound that has had lies built around it. Sins of the, there's a misconception when it comes to demons, and a lot of Christians have it. That demons can just get on you and get in you and grab you anytime they want to. That is absolutely untrue. They have no authority or right over us. We have to give it to them. So even in generational stuff, at some point, we gave in to the generational thing that was pushing on us, trying to re-establish in the next generation. We had to give in to it, and usually, the point of giving in is a wound. We felt misunderstood, we felt hated, we felt rejected, we were made fun of, somebody laughed at us. It could be as simple as somebody laughed at us and pointed us out, and now we were the last laughing stock of the third grade for two weeks. And it severely wounded us. And the lies start building. Mom and Dad never went to the school to protect me. They just said, you're going to have to get over it. These kind of things happen. So I don't think Mom and Dad even love me. So here's the deal. They don't love me. I ain't going to listen to them. And now we're building lies around the wound. The lies is where the sin realm comes, and that's where the demonic will hook up to, okay? So you can get rid of the demonic, but you have to take care of this at some point. That is the part that's usually missed in deliverance. We just cast the demons out. Woo-hoo, you're free. No, you're not. Why were they there to begin with? Do you have unforgiveness toward anybody? Do you have hate towards anybody? Are you bitter with anybody? What is the sin? You say, I have no idea. Just ask the Holy Spirit. He'll point it out. Not to condemn you, to remind you, so you can get healed. You've always felt like the ugly one in the whole family. And then you stand there blinking like, okay, well, that could be true. So what do I do with that? Well, what do you have any attitudes built around that? Are there any lies built around that? Because that's what's going to have to be dealt with to stay free of demons. You can't be of your father the father of lies and stay clean because his kingdom will attract to it and we'll grab on and build in that. Sin is typically what causes the wound. We, the personally sender, we were sinned against with children, by the way, it's most of the time they're sinned against. That's why Jesus was so livid. Matthew 18. I mean, you talk about pronouncement of judgment. If you offend one of these little ones, when the day of judgment comes and he gave the story, you'd rather have millstone tied around your neck and be thrown off a boat in the middle of the oceans someplace and drown that way than face me. Why? Because when you wound a little one, they begin believing lies that are being fed to them. And their soul picks up on it. And now you can set them up for trouble for their lifetime. So jump over to page 63. The beliefs that are built around a wound, unless they're healed and God deals with it, are almost 100% of the time a lie. The combination of the wound and the belief system sets us up for the open door to the demonic. The demon will sit on and hold the wound because that's where the lies are at. That's what has to be dealt with. The more access is given to the demons because we're not dealing with the wounds correctly. And we keep believing the lies but want to be free of the demonic influence. The wounds have to be dealt with. In deliverance, the wounds and lies can be dealt with before or after I explained that. The bottom of page 63, that's why Jesus became so angry with the children thing. Page 64, here are some examples of the kind of things that cause wounds to children and adults. And I just listed them. Now, I'm not going to do this but I have watched this over and over and many times demons will manifest in services and in prayer lines. Now here I'm going to explain to you why that happens. Sometimes it can be just because they got in the presence of God. I mean, Jesus had that happen. Jesus walks in and they're freaking out. So it can be as simple as they're in the presence of God and they're just freaking out. But most of the time a prayer line is touching a wound. And when you get in there and start stirring in someone's wounds and the anointing is working, you're poking the demon that sits on the lies built around those wounds. And before they get up here or by the time they get up here, that thing is so riled up because it knows if it loses this ground, it's going to lose the person. It's going to have to get out. It will do everything it can to protect the wound and the lies. Keep the person hurting. We don't want them healed. And keep them believing all the stuff that they're hurting about because we don't want them to find out the truth. And we definitely don't want them forgiving anybody. For anything. Because that's devastating to the kingdom of darkness. So in a prayer line, they'll be manifesting. Why? You poked around in the wounds. You can do it. During any typical message, now that you know this, when I start talking about people's wounds, and here is just kind of a list of it. A child whose parents divorced and they blame themselves for it. All I have to do is be led by the spirit into that area and start poking around. Some of you are struggling with the fact that when you were young, your parents divorced and you took the blame for it, you've never forgiven them. You've never forgiven yourself. You are still and the Holy Spirit starts working. You can see it manifest in the congregation. Why? It's like a hot iron to the wound. It's actually the sword of the spirit. They're just going in there to that wound and says, we're going to clean this wound out. We're going to get it healed. Well, on that wound is a bunch of lies and the demons are sitting on top of the lies. So when that sword comes in, sword of the spirit, everything gets riled up. And you can watch people manifest while you're poking the wound. Because it's not because they're so evil. You've just touched something where that demonic spirit is claiming its authority to be in the person. So you get them into the prayer line. So now they'll, if they feel like this person is actually going to go through with this, many times they'll manifest. And no, we got to stop this person from getting fixed here. Because if they get fixed here, we're out. They know it. They're not that dumb. They've been around for thousands and thousands of years. They figured this out. So they're going to try to do everything they can to keep the person from getting fixed. The wound, eventually, either before or after the deliverance, the wound has to be dealt with. Now, the person who did the deliverance is not necessarily the one responsible. You've got to deal with the wound. No, the Holy Spirit knows what the wound is. But sometimes we need to tell them, okay, now there was a reason, you know, we just cast something out of you. There was a reason it was here. You've been hurt. You've harbored some kind of wound. The Holy Spirit is going to talk to you about this. And if you can't figure out what to do with it, come back and talk to us or get a hold of somebody to talk to, because you're going to have to deal with why that spirit was here. It's how you don't just clean out the house, so it's empty, swept and garnished, but you actually go in there with the Spirit of God and heal what's broken in the person. Now the demon has no right to him whatsoever. They have no wound. There's no lies left they're sitting on. The sin is gone. It's game over for the demonic realm. They can't touch him. So the whole concept of, well, you got to be careful, because a demon could jump on you at any time, and you could be possessed. That whole thing is based on fear and ignorance. You know, I've watched people still, even after we talk about it some, not as much as this, but we talk about it some, I still watch people of a demon manifest up here. I'll watch people get up and leave. They're going home. Because they're afraid whatever's happening here could jump into them, and they will have no control over it. Just plain ignorant. That that's just ignorance. We as Christians need to live above that realm. But that's how it works. So this last little portion on holding the temple, the conclusion is pretty easy. You can read through that and get that yourself. This last little portion on holding the temple, even though it's only eight, ten pages long, don't underestimate the importance of this, because if I go back through everything I can remember, I've forgotten a lot. You know, sometimes Mary will bring up, remember the time this happened, and the demon came up and said this and that. I have trouble remembering what she said. Where were we? When did that happen? I don't remember that. But the ones I do remember, every one of them, there was wounds. Every one of them. Demons don't just go into a person and take over. They have to have the right. The wound is not the right. The wound is a misunderstanding. It's a parent mishandling something. It's a teacher or a coach who did something. Example, one young man, just rebellious as all get out as an adult, a young adult, just rebellious to no end. Mean. Mean is a skunk, man. Finally digging into it. And were there demons there? Yeah, there were. But finally digging into it, a coach, a teacher who was a coach had insulted him publicly in front of his friends. And I won't go into what was said or what was done. But that became the wound. He was in grade school, late grade school. That became the wound. And everything that had to do with education, knowledge, school, he rebelled against it all. It was his way of protecting himself and holding on to the lies. The lies of I'm stupid. I'm not good enough. I'm not as good as other kids. I'm just somebody be laughed at, ridiculed, adults make fun of me, blah, blah, blah. He just, he went into rebellion and he picked up spirits for rebellion. The wound was what happened. The wound was not the sin. But he had no adult in his life to help him deal with the wound correctly. So he dealt with it himself. And he dealt with it the wrong way. And as a result, yeah, it turned really ugly for him. But once he went back and then once he hit the wound, many times the tough, rebellious, I'll kill the world guy stands there and cries, shaking like a baby. Because you're in their wound. You're in their pain. Once you get into the wound and you flush that clean and let the lies get taken off and this, that and the other, they're a whole different person. But if you never touch that wound and deal with the wound, well, they just got a spirit of rebellion. We're going to cast it out. Go ahead, you'll load them up with seven more that are worse because that one's going to come back and bring a whole bunch more. Because he still hates and he's still rebellious and he's still unforgiving and he still wants revenge and he's still going to prove to the world I have value and I'm not a stupid idiot like my coach or my teacher said. The wound is still there. So you might have cleaned the demons out. It's empty now that way. You swept that clean. Might even be decorated up some. He's coming to church and coming to church for a month. Yeah, give it six months. We'll see where he's at. Because if he doesn't get that wound fixed, they're coming back and they're going to hit him harder this time than they hit him the first time. Because the wound is still there and the lies, the misbeliefs are still there. So when I bring all that up and then we'll quit with this. We'll go to questions and answers. But I bring all that up to say this. Deliverance is not just wielding a powerful sword. And we're just going to cut that devil off and we're going to kick him out. Don't miss that and the other. You got to ask the question. Why is he there? What gave him the access? What gave these demons the right? And the Holy Spirit will show it to you. He'll show it to them, the person who's afflicted. The Holy Spirit is faithful because he wants to heal what's broken. But many times our mind doesn't even go that direction. It's just, wow, we got authority over demons. We're going to cast them out. Well, we can. I mean, it works. Sometimes they're glad to go. Sometimes they fight, but you can get them out either way. But there has to be something done with why they were there in the first place. And like I said, all that has to happen is the Lord takes it. You can be talking to someone one on one. And he takes you into dealing with wounds. Watch, because they might manifest right in front of you. Because if they've got that wound, there's a reason the Holy Spirit might be, you know, you're sitting there. The restaurant got your coffee and you're talking about a wound. They could manifest right in front of you. Now you don't always see it if you're not looking for it. But watch for it, because when you start poking around in there, that's where the demons hang out. Now that doesn't mean you try to cast them out right there. Use some wisdom, you know. Sometimes you don't even acknowledge you know it. It's like, make note of that. Lord, give us another opportunity in more of a private setting where we can help this person get free. I'm not one of these persons who's big into scenes. I hate making a scene with people. Not because of me, because of them. I mean, how embarrassing. And if friends see you, now everybody's got a camera. You know, and they're filming everything and pretty soon you're up online. And I mean, you can destroy people that way. Just calm down, demon. I know you're there. I ain't even going to talk about you. I'm not even going to address you. We're going to do it with you at a different time. But the Lord just showed me you're there. So now I'm going to help this person. The Lord's going to make the opportunity to help this person in a very private, non-invasive way. I'm not big into the making scenes. You know, sometimes on TV you see ministers who seem to work in deliverance. But their thing is to call them out in front of a thousand people. And it's like, that's between them and God. I'm not going to criticize them. That just ain't me. I mean, if I put myself in their place, yuck, I would not want that all over the internet, all over the world. Oh, about me. So that's just where I come from. They got to do what they feel God's led them to do. But you have to deal with the wound and get the person to find healing to have continued sustained deliverance. All right, thank you for joining us. We're going to go to Q&A. And for that, we're going to let you go. Thank you for joining us. Be blessed. Have an awesome night.
