The best way to stay clean and free spiritually is to recognize when 00:38.780 --> 00:46.340 something's happening to us and then we personally address it right away. Don't wait. You don't need 00:46.340 --> 00:51.200 a counseling appointment. You just need to use your authority. Take your stand and say no. 00:52.420 --> 01:00.560 And it becomes very easy that way to deal with stuff. And the whole self-deliverance thing, 01:00.600 --> 01:09.820 like I was explaining to someone today, I said, in 1 John 2, you've got the child. You've got the 01:09.820 --> 01:14.840 young man. It explains that age group. And then you've got the fathers. The distinguishing part 01:14.840 --> 01:20.860 for the young man is that's the age we learn to overcome the evil one. So there is a phase 01:20.860 --> 01:28.540 that all of us go through in spiritual growth where we have to deal with the spiritual world, 01:28.660 --> 01:34.100 the demonic spiritual world. And if we don't learn how to do that, we're never going to grow 01:34.100 --> 01:40.000 through that phase. So there is a phase of our Christian experience that we have to grow 01:40.000 --> 01:45.540 through that and we have to learn that. That is the phase that works really good to 01:45.540 --> 01:52.160 understand self-deliverance and make that phase of our personal growth very quick. 01:53.480 --> 01:58.540 That doesn't have to go on for two decades. We can get through that young man's stage and 01:58.540 --> 02:02.980 learn how to overcome the evil one because that's the defining characteristic of that stage. 02:03.540 --> 02:07.320 We learn how to overcome the evil one. Well, it doesn't take us the rest of our 02:07.320 --> 02:13.300 life to do that. It shouldn't. So we can get that through that phase pretty quickly if we 02:13.300 --> 02:19.200 set our mind to it. And one of the things that helps us get through that is knowing that when 02:19.200 --> 02:26.080 something comes up or we recognize something's harassing us or we're struggling with something, 02:27.040 --> 02:32.880 deal with it. Right there. Boom. Self-deliverance. Whether it's a harassment from the outside, 02:33.720 --> 02:39.300 get rid of it. Whether it's something that got into your flesh, get rid of it. You don't 02:39.300 --> 02:45.820 have to wait. Just get it out. Get it going. So the need for every believer to learn self-deliverance 02:45.820 --> 02:52.660 is really important. This is again going back to the picture in Judges chapter two. And that whole 02:52.660 --> 02:57.640 generation had been gathered to the fathers. Another generation grew up who neither knew the 02:57.640 --> 03:02.080 Lord nor what he had done for Israel. So here we go again. We're going to have the whole 03:02.080 --> 03:07.100 thing repeat verse 11. So that new generation did evil in the eyes of the Lord and served 03:07.100 --> 03:13.180 the Baals and forsook the Lord and go down towards the bottom. Verse 14, in his anger the Lord 03:13.180 --> 03:20.940 handed them over to raiders. He sold them whatever you want. Here you go. Have at it. Page 49 03:22.140 --> 03:27.040 verse 16, middle of the page. Then the Lord raised up judges. You know, once they were 03:27.040 --> 03:31.840 in bondage long enough, they realized, yeah, this is probably not right. Well, then they 03:31.840 --> 03:38.320 started calling out to the Lord for help. So then he'd raise up a judge or a person to deliver them. 03:40.000 --> 03:44.360 And it says there, verse 16, then the Lord raised up judges who saved them out of the hands of the 03:44.360 --> 03:48.840 raiders. Yet they would not listen to their judges, but prostituted themselves to other gods 03:48.840 --> 03:53.760 and worship them. Unlike their fathers, they quickly turned away or they quickly turned from 03:53.760 --> 03:57.660 the way in which their fathers had walked the way of obedience to the Lord's command. 03:57.660 --> 04:09.060 So you had this cycle starting and took place. And God got tired of the cycle. He hates the cycle 04:09.060 --> 04:16.200 in us. When it's like, now we're doing really good spiritually. Now we're doing really bad 04:16.200 --> 04:20.640 spiritually. Now we're doing really good spiritually. Next month we're doing really 04:20.640 --> 04:25.180 bad spiritually. Then for three months we're doing really good spiritually. And then for a 04:25.180 --> 04:30.040 half a year it's like, oh, it's really bad. And this cycle gets going. God hates that cycle. 04:30.500 --> 04:36.460 And this is what he will do with that cycle. It's on page 49 at the top. He'll do with us 04:36.460 --> 04:42.360 basically the same thing he did with them. Therefore, because they were in the cycle thing, 04:43.020 --> 04:47.240 the Lord was very angry with Israel and said, because this nation has violated the covenant 04:47.240 --> 04:53.760 that I laid down for their forefathers and has not listened to me, I will no longer drive 04:53.760 --> 04:59.720 out before them any of the nations Joshua left when he died. And the nations there, the enemies, 04:59.840 --> 05:04.820 are representative of what we're talking about as they represent demonic stuff coming against us. 05:05.960 --> 05:13.940 He's not going to drive them out anymore. Why? Because it's not a game. And he's tired of the 05:13.940 --> 05:20.300 cycle. It's not doing us any good. It's not helping anything. It's just bad attitude stuff 05:20.300 --> 05:24.920 where we obey for a while, then we go off and descend to our own thing. Oh, then, oh, 05:24.980 --> 05:28.340 that's really bad. So God deliver us. And then we obey for a while and we go back. 05:29.300 --> 05:33.260 He finally says, nope, I'm not going to help you get out of it so quickly this time. 05:34.040 --> 05:38.480 Verse 22, I will use them to test Israel and see whether they will keep the way of the Lord 05:38.480 --> 05:44.140 and walk in it as their forefathers did. The Lord had allowed those nations to remain. 05:44.340 --> 05:47.980 He did not drive them out at once by giving them into the hands of Joshua. 05:47.980 --> 05:53.720 Then it lists some of the nations. These are the nations that the Lord left all those 05:53.720 --> 06:00.200 Israelites who had not experienced any of the wars in Canaan. He left those nations or those enemies. 06:00.440 --> 06:06.960 He did this only to teach warfare to the descendants of the Israelites who had not had 06:06.960 --> 06:14.580 previous battle experience. So let's apply that. You got saved. You were growing in the Lord. 06:14.580 --> 06:21.000 You're doing good. You found something that was a stronghold and you got to dealt with whether 06:21.000 --> 06:25.680 self-deliverance or someone helped you pray with it or through it or whatever. And boom, 06:25.780 --> 06:33.380 fairly quickly and easily it was gone. But down the road a little ways you started kind of 06:33.380 --> 06:42.680 playing games spiritually and maybe even went back into the same thing. My experience, 06:43.620 --> 06:49.800 if you went back in ignorantly, he might bail you out twice very easily. 06:52.600 --> 06:59.360 After that you're going to fight to get free. He just doesn't kick it out for you. 06:59.980 --> 07:03.840 Perfect case in point and you can call it demonic. A day. It's like, wow. She got set free instantaneously. No withdrawals. She got... 08:28.330 --> 08:35.550 no God. And it was kind of funny. Mary says the story more accurately than I, but she came into the 08:35.550 --> 08:42.470 pick up her child one day at daycare and she said, I heard your ministers. Mary said, yeah. 08:43.410 --> 08:49.970 She said, okay, I'll answer that question. Why were we doing daycare? Because we weren't 08:49.970 --> 08:55.130 getting enough money from the church to live. Okay, so we're working on the side. So Mary's 08:55.130 --> 09:02.130 doing daycare and heard your ministers. Yep. She said, well, I don't know about this whole 09:02.130 --> 09:09.290 God thing, but my life is such a mess. If God can help me, I need God. It's like, well, that's easy. 09:10.470 --> 09:16.430 So she got saved. Real shortly thereafter, she got baptized in the Holy Spirit. And I 09:16.430 --> 09:21.870 can't remember the timing. Mary would remember the timing on when the drug thing came out. 09:21.870 --> 09:25.450 I don't know if that came out right away or that was a few days later. 09:26.190 --> 09:34.270 But then she got instantly set free of drugs. And she was free from that prayer on. She had no withdrawals, 10:40.830 --> 10:46.910 no desires, no cravings, nothing. Then there are some other people 10:47.530 --> 10:55.250 that God did the same thing for. But they went to a party or they were with friends or this 10:55.250 --> 11:01.390 and the other. And I didn't think, you know, they just offered me one hit. I thought, 11:01.410 --> 11:06.830 I'll just do one and I'll be fine. Boom. Almost like the habit just started up 11:06.830 --> 11:10.130 like it did before. Oh, here we come running for prayer. Oh God. 11:13.050 --> 11:21.990 Prayed the same prayer, did the same stuff. And they struggled for months and months 11:24.030 --> 11:29.850 to get free the next time around. It can be any kind of, it can be, I see it the most in 11:29.850 --> 11:37.150 smoking. I mean, that one's, it's almost like, okay, there goes another one. What's the principle there? 11:39.070 --> 11:44.010 When God does, it's right there on the top of page 48, when God does something awesome for you, 11:44.070 --> 11:49.570 whether it's kicking out demons or whatever, if you play with that and get reentangled, 11:50.550 --> 11:57.270 he might do it twice and just do an awesome quick thing the second time also. 11:58.210 --> 12:06.390 But if this becomes a game at all, a cycle, like it did for them, he'll say, you deal with your drugs. 12:08.550 --> 12:14.130 You've got to learn how to war this. I'll confess my sin when I go to church tomorrow. 14:01.110 --> 14:09.530 Saturday night, we're going to live it big. I'll hear them. Don't say that. Don't worry about it. You didn't get 20:34.580 --> 20:45.600 nothing. I've heard those kind of little statements. Nope. I heard you. The Holy Spirit knows who and 21:02.940 --> 21:06.700 what you are and how many of you there are. We've talked a lot about the scriptural and logical 23:01.860 --> 23:06.520 sides of deliverance. Now we're going to look deeper at the soul and the gateways 23:06.520 --> 23:13.700 are doors that are often present with demonic issues. This is a very important concept in the 23:13.700 --> 23:19.860 realms of seeing someone get free from the demonic and their past. We got to see the doors, 23:20.140 --> 23:25.800 the gateways. So even though this is a short section, please don't underestimate the importance 23:25.800 --> 23:31.280 of it. So I explained there the part that we are three part being spirit, soul and body. 23:32.480 --> 23:41.060 Letter A, the physical body's a dust. The spirit is the breath that God breathed into Adam and we 23:41.060 --> 23:46.880 became a living soul or the interface between our spirit person and being able to run our body. 23:48.600 --> 23:54.520 Here's how they play out and being affected by demons. Well, the whole world are all God's children, 24:49.620 --> 24:54.320 garbage. Well, every human being is God's child. No, we are not. No, we are not. 24:55.180 --> 25:04.140 We're God's creation. But to be his child, we have got to be brought back into the family by the 25:04.140 --> 25:12.680 blood and be redeemed, ransom back out of that until we are brought out of that and bought 25:13.180 --> 25:19.980 back. That's what the word redeemed means. You redeemed something. It was deemed and 25:19.980 --> 25:26.200 then it lost it. So now you redeemed it back and by the blood, we've been deemed back into the 25:26.200 --> 25:33.560 body of Christ, the family of God. He's now our father. That has to happen before we're God's 25:33.560 --> 25:42.500 children. He bought us back. Well, until he, until that happened in my life, who was I owned by? 25:44.400 --> 25:56.080 I was owned by Satan. I was not God's child. I was Satan's child. He was my father. That's 25:56.080 --> 26:03.840 exactly what Jesus said about the scribes and the Pharisees. He said, you are of your father, 26:04.220 --> 26:14.060 the devil. The whole concept of your human being, your God's child, is purely false. 26:15.720 --> 26:22.340 Your God's child, when he buys you back and brings you back into the family, 26:24.400 --> 26:34.220 up until that point, the kingdom of darkness owns you. He said when that kingdom starts 28:55.320 --> 29:01.000 messing with Christians, all they're doing is trespassing. But they'll trespass if we let 29:01.000 --> 29:09.440 them. We have to say no. Or they'll come and set up camp and be squatters, living in our life, 29:09.540 --> 29:15.780 just messing our life up if we let them. The same way, once we were brought out of that kingdom, 29:15.920 --> 29:21.320 over to this kingdom, the right to keep us sick and diseased and ill health and everything 29:21.320 --> 29:27.920 was there. But even though we're in this kingdom, if we don't take our rights, our authority, 29:27.920 --> 29:34.980 by faith, it'll just come move in with us if we let it. So we have to learn these things and we have 29:34.980 --> 29:43.620 to apply the authority given to us. So the whole point I'm making here is an unsaved person can 29:43.620 --> 29:48.080 be owned or possessed by the devil. They have not been purchased. They've not been bought back 29:48.080 --> 29:53.400 yet. I could have put it in here, 30:25.540 --> 30:31.480 but I used the word that is the actual Greek word in the gospels. It's demonized. 30:34.320 --> 30:39.480 Demonization. They're being harassed, tormented, infiltrated, buffeted, vexed, 30:39.760 --> 30:46.600 trespassed, squatters moved in, but they're not owned. They're not possessed. 30:47.640 --> 30:55.100 Now, the three part being. Demonization is actually a soul body thing. 30:56.440 --> 31:03.320 Once you are born again, brought from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light, 31:04.140 --> 31:10.340 you spiritually have been brought back to life. You're a new creation in Christ. 31:12.820 --> 31:15.000 Demons can't touch your spirit. 31:16.980 --> 31:20.300 But they really harass you in the physical and the soul realm. 31:21.060 --> 31:24.500 But spiritually, they can't touch you. 38:21.920 This kid is foaming at the mouth and throwing himself in the fire. 38:22.160 --> 38:28.160 And this is a major issue like the one that Jesus dealt with or Legion. 38:28.740 --> 38:30.340
