I think that, you know, if we 00:44.400 --> 00:48.960 start talking about tithing or giving, we start talking about obedience. We start 00:48.960 --> 00:54.600 talking about the structure that the Word lays out to help keep us safe, to be able to 00:54.600 --> 01:01.080 prosper, to add to our lives. When we talk about those things, they can just 01:01.080 --> 01:06.180 sound just like, and there's the rules, right? This is what we got to do. And make 01:06.180 --> 01:11.660 sure you get this done. And don't do that. And, you know, it kind of hits us like that. 01:12.260 --> 01:18.940 When really God sets things up for us to be able to go after being obedient, 01:18.940 --> 01:24.920 but on the way to that, it checks the intent of our heart. And so, part of us dying to ourselves and the series that we've 01:38.180 --> 01:43.700 gone through, even way before that, is the sifting process and getting the 01:43.700 --> 01:48.480 chaff off of us. And, I mean, there's so many things like, you know, 01:49.860 --> 01:54.300 Pastor Tanya, she talked about it last week, just kind of mapping, just in the 01:54.300 --> 01:59.600 last few things that we've been through here at Word of Life, it's where 01:59.600 --> 02:03.800 we're headed towards something. See, if you're in a church or a Bible study, 02:03.860 --> 02:08.460 or even your own family, and God gives you something, and then you feel like, 02:08.520 --> 02:10.620 and then there's something else, and then you're here, and you're there, 02:10.620 --> 02:17.560 and you're everywhere, that's almost like an ADHD way of thinking. And in the end, 02:17.640 --> 02:20.860 you end up having principles, but where are we going? We don't even, 02:21.180 --> 02:25.420 like, we don't know where we're going. And so, mapping things in life, 02:26.120 --> 02:31.260 God will give you the next step to do. And so I still want to minister the person or whatever. That's a guiding point 03:08.960 --> 03:14.800 of why I don't smack back. Right? Because I'm like, I'm after your heart. My heart, 03:14.960 --> 03:20.720 the intention of my heart, is after their heart for Christ. If I didn't have that intention, 03:21.440 --> 03:25.440 and then it would be a rule in my head that says, ooh, don't say something back, 03:25.760 --> 03:30.560 as that's not going to go well. Yep. But that still isn't the same as if you have the right 03:30.560 --> 03:35.480 intention of the heart to minister to them. That's when you're positioning yourself 03:35.480 --> 03:39.140 where God can use you. That affects your giving. 03:41.340 --> 03:48.300 That affects believing people, believing God for healing for people. It affects every area. 03:49.200 --> 03:55.020 I've been with a person who, and who knows, I don't know if my intentions of my heart 03:55.020 --> 03:58.460 were right all the time. They have to be checked on a daily basis anyway. 03:59.500 --> 04:05.640 But praying for the sick, I've watched it over the years. People getting so excited 04:06.220 --> 04:11.400 to work a prayer line or whatever. And they thought their intention of their heart 04:11.400 --> 04:15.380 was to help the person. Like, yep, I want to, I want to get involved in that. 04:15.600 --> 04:18.860 But by the time you saw the operation of what they were doing, 04:19.120 --> 04:24.620 what was oozing out of their heart was pride. You know, that they were the spiritual ones. 04:25.240 --> 04:30.720 They were coming down. And see, so the, they're very nice thing, the very good thing, the very 04:30.720 --> 04:36.800 godly thing by the intent of the heart goes wrong. And the spirit that ends up coming off of us, 04:36.980 --> 04:41.760 that, that influencer, that fluid that comes off of us ends up being wrong. 04:42.200 --> 04:47.240 Not because our actions aren't taking the right actions, it's because the intent of our 04:47.240 --> 04:53.320 heart was wrong to begin with. Serving. What happens if you have the wrong intention 04:53.320 --> 04:59.860 in your heart to serve? Well, most people don't, don't go into something 04:59.860 --> 05:03.620 where they want to serve, whether it's working in the nursery or hospitality or whatever. 05:04.380 --> 05:09.400 And, and, you know, they might just commit. And we toted 05:42.380 --> 05:46.760 them around the United States and took them on vacations and did all that kind of stuff. 05:46.760 --> 05:53.100 Well, people would look and say other foster homes would look into that and say, you know, 05:53.120 --> 05:59.100 how are they doing that? How are they not going crazy? Right? Well, there were days that the, 05:59.400 --> 06:05.760 as we were serving, it was like, I love these kids. And as you went to take care of them, 06:06.460 --> 06:10.700 the intent of your heart would show up. It's like, I love these kids, you know. 06:10.840 --> 06:15.840 And there was stuff going on in there that wasn't a purified love. It wasn't a purified 06:16.660 --> 06:22.080 thing. And you'd have to check yourself. You'd have to, I mean, we did stuff where we would, 06:22.320 --> 06:26.240 if it got intense in the home, people going through issues because of trauma or whatever, 06:26.240 --> 06:31.760 where we'd tag out like, I'm out. And then he'd take over, right? And you got to go check 06:31.760 --> 06:35.940 yourself because stuff starts coming up out of your heart you did not know was there. 06:37.300 --> 06:44.060 And that comes by pressure. So, Genesis six five says, the Lord saw that the wickedness or 06:44.060 --> 06:51.580 poverty of man was great on the earth, and that every imagination or intent of the thoughts of 06:51.580 --> 07:00.260 his heart were only evil continually. That's a bad day for sure. At the same time, 07:01.300 --> 07:06.700 what makes us think that we were without Christ? And then we came to Christ 07:06.700 --> 07:16.060 and all the intents of our heart just changed. We were wonderful, right? No, even salvation gets in. 07:16.720 --> 07:24.320 Salvation comes into the heart. That power starts to put a pressure that says, now Jesus is Lord, 07:24.640 --> 07:31.560 I'm no longer Lord, right? So that means there's a King to follow by the Holy Spirit. 07:32.120 --> 07:35.920 And the Holy Spirit's there to help guide us because when the wrong intents of our heart 07:35.920 --> 07:41.440 come up, we're even shocked. We're like, I did not know I had that in me. I can't believe I said that 07:41.440 --> 07:47.740 or whatever it is. And Holy Spirit will work there. But because righteousness showed up, 07:47.880 --> 07:52.460 anything, any principle in the word that is like, this is righteous, you go, yes, that's wonderful, 07:52.660 --> 07:58.600 let's add toward it. The intent of your heart will show up. We want that kind of thing to 07:58.600 --> 08:03.940 show up because that's what helps to purify us. It's what we do with the intent of the heart 08:03.940 --> 08:10.480 after it shows up. So let's say you're working in the nursery. It's the third week and you feel 08:10.480 --> 08:14.600 like the toddler is about to eat you. And you know, there's this stuff, they're screaming, 08:14.840 --> 08:18.740 you were up late last night, you know, what am I doing in here? I probably miss God. 08:19.280 --> 08:25.200 Well, you're either missing it now or you missed it on the front end when you decided to do this. 08:26.900 --> 08:32.040 So you have to pick one and be like, whoa, I so missed it. I was in my flesh. I had the 08:32.040 --> 08:37.900 wrong intent in my heart when I signed up for the nursery. Or you have the wrong intent showing up 08:37.900 --> 08:44.000 now. Does that make sense? Either way, you have to check the heart and go, ah, 08:44.980 --> 08:50.500 this is not how we want to roll, right? And so that's why we need Holy Spirit. That's why 08:50.500 --> 08:57.260 we definitely have to have Holy Spirit. But it's not a, I would say like a wrong process. 08:57.760 --> 09:03.320 It's not something you condemn yourself because all the wrong intensives of our heart when we 09:03.320 --> 09:08.540 head toward righteousness will show up. That's why he, he makes it like, for instance, this first. 09:09.360 --> 09:15.040 Seek ye first the kingdom of God. Kingdom is the sphere of his rule, his ways he does things. 09:15.440 --> 09:20.400 That means I'm over here. I had my own rules and my ways of doing things and I was used to 09:20.400 --> 09:23.900 that. And then he said, seek his kingdom. And I said, all right, I'm going to go 09:23.900 --> 09:30.260 head for that. Well, this kingdom here has to die in order for me to head toward his kingdom. 09:30.840 --> 09:34.880 But if I seek it, that means I'm constantly looking for like, how do you do this again, 09:35.040 --> 09:39.600 God? Show me, could you change my heart? Because it's not lining up. My emotions don't 09:39.600 --> 09:45.100 even want to do this, right? And, and, and so I thought it was going to be a happy thing to 09:45.100 --> 09:51.500 do the right thing. Isn't that the equation? Two plus two should equal four. Right things and 09:51.500 --> 09:58.820 happy things should equal. Wonderful. But most of the time as we head toward righteousness, it will 09:58.820 --> 10:05.540 cleanse us first. So anything that's there, it's like, oh, here we go. About to get purified. 10:05.760 --> 10:10.780 Here we go. About to die again to myself. Here we go. I didn't even know that was in there. 10:11.240 --> 10:15.260 How many of you have had something come up in your heart that it shocked you? You were like, 10:16.560 --> 10:21.080 some people will shock so much that you're literally like, I don't even feel saved right 10:21.080 --> 10:29.140 now. Like, I thought I was a Christian. Do I got to get born again, again, again, then again? 10:31.400 --> 10:37.020 Yeah. So there's something, there's something about him checking the intent of our heart. 10:37.260 --> 10:44.340 And what's interesting is finances, he's particularly says in our giving, it checks the 10:44.340 --> 10:53.010 intent of our heart. Right? It can go so many variations. It can be like, I only have this 10:53.010 --> 10:59.910 much money, I don't see where we should have to give. Okay, fine. Or it's, yeah, I got all kinds 10:59.910 --> 11:05.570 of bucks laying around. I wonder how I can press. You know, they're going to know I'm behind this 11:05.570 --> 11:11.330 project. You can have the wrong intent of the heart, 15 different ways for sure when it comes 11:11.330 --> 11:18.370 to finances. But when it comes down to it, is it a money issue? No. It's a wrong intent 11:18.370 --> 11:24.910 that God is trying to cleanse out of us. It's like, like tithing, for instance, that belongs to the Lord. 11:25.490 --> 11:29.490 So if we have any wrong intentions around that where we thought it was ours, 11:31.970 --> 11:37.290 oh, you're going to get tried, my friend. That's why whenever you just say the word money in 11:37.290 --> 11:41.430 church, people get funky, they're like, oh, I don't know. You know, because there's something 11:41.430 --> 11:50.310 there. It's not the money. It's the command that he tells us to do. And anytime there's something 11:50.310 --> 11:55.550 that says, here's what righteousness looks like, and this is what I'm asking you to do. And most 11:55.550 --> 12:00.470 of the time, if you go through different commands in the Bible, this is what he's telling us to do. 12:01.590 --> 12:06.630 God doesn't go, you know, so if you got time there, you know, tiger, if you want to do 12:06.630 --> 12:12.490 this, you go ahead. I mean, think about it. Pray about it for a while. Most of righteousness is this 12:12.490 --> 12:20.730 is what's right and just do these things, right? And so, since he took over our heart, and now 12:20.730 --> 12:27.330 he's the Lord and I'm not, do I have a choice? Yes, I have a choice the way the kingdom set up. 12:27.430 --> 12:33.650 I can choose against it. But with the exchange I made with him, I promised to not choose 12:33.650 --> 12:39.250 against it. I said, you will be Lord, and I will not. I am making this exchange with you. 12:39.610 --> 12:45.890 And so, here's my life, God. Thank you for salvation power. Remember, one of the meanings 12:45.890 --> 12:52.150 to the word salvation is to take the limits off by the finger of God. Damnation is to 12:52.150 --> 12:59.330 put the limits on, right? So we're being delivered all the time from the wrong intent of the heart. 13:03.390 --> 13:07.890 Amen. So sin affects us in this way. So the Lord saw that the wickedness or the depravity of 13:07.890 --> 13:14.570 man was great on the earth, and every imagination or intent of the thoughts of his heart were only 13:14.570 --> 13:19.550 evil continually. That's, you know, that's what it's like. Even on your nicest day, 13:19.770 --> 13:24.570 you got all that lurking around in there, and yet the kingdom is taken over. 13:25.230 --> 13:32.730 The kingdom of God's taken over in here, right? So why I'm bringing this up is if 13:33.350 --> 13:40.770 things get funky as we move into this series, like they got funky when we moved into, let's, 13:40.770 --> 13:47.370 let's talk about offense, right? People are like, sure. And then like, stop, you know, 13:47.470 --> 13:51.130 and it's upcoming later because you're like, well, I didn't think it was talking about me. 13:51.130 --> 13:55.530 I mean, I'm not really easily offended. Next thing you know, you're offended, or you realize 13:55.530 --> 14:03.630 how offended you've been this whole time. So what I'm saying is in Christianity, there's some type 14:03.630 --> 14:08.610 of religious thing that's produced where it's roses and fluffy clouds and everything's supposed 14:08.610 --> 14:14.170 to be wonderful if you're doing the right thing. We're just always happy. Praise God, 14:14.170 --> 14:22.050 we have that kind of life. When really the true Christianity is I'm actually trying to take all 14:22.050 --> 14:30.070 of this into this narrow way. And I'm feeling it on the whole step of the way. Does it mean that 14:30.070 --> 14:34.590 the joy of the Lord isn't my strength? That's what makes the joy of the Lord so supernatural. 14:35.470 --> 14:39.670 Because when you're suffering like that, going through the narrow way, you can turn a 14:39.670 --> 14:47.830 comedian on and laugh for a moment. You're like, right? It doesn't carry you. You can watch all the 14:47.830 --> 14:52.970 sitcoms with the jokes and all that kind of stuff. It won't carry you through the narrow way. You have 14:52.970 --> 14:58.990 to have the joy of the Lord. And after a while, the joy will actually say, wow, there's suffering. 15:00.370 --> 15:08.830 Oh, this is good, right? And you'll actually have a smile about the suffering as the 15:08.830 --> 15:13.990 certain points. When you go through that death process, because you have to let certain things 15:13.990 --> 15:19.890 behind and take certain things on to be able to go there. And the whole time it's the intent of the 15:19.890 --> 15:26.370 heart he's looking for. Proverbs says he judges the intent of the heart. 15:27.670 --> 15:31.670 So he doesn't judge how much you put in the offering plate. He judges the intent of the heart. 15:33.490 --> 15:37.690 Right? What's your intention on getting married? What's your intention on 15:37.690 --> 15:44.610 raising a family? What is the true intent in you that you set it up? And this is this is 15:44.610 --> 15:49.450 a thing that a lot of times as we're being purified, and we're going through some and we're 15:49.450 --> 15:55.570 suffering, we will say, I never intended it for it to go this way. I never thought that's what 15:55.570 --> 16:02.610 God meant when he said, right? Because we had our own intentions. The intent of our heart 16:02.610 --> 16:05.890 says, sure, if you're going to ask me to go on the mission field, this is what it should 16:05.890 --> 16:09.550 look like. So that's what I'm going to believe for. Praise God, it's going to be wonderful. 16:10.650 --> 16:16.990 Right? Somehow you're on the mission field, and the funds didn't come in, and so you ain't 16:16.990 --> 16:25.310 eating today. Was the intent of your heart that? So for Word of Life, if we didn't have the vision book, and we didn't have different 16:55.990 --> 17:00.830 things that he told us, the prophecies, different things like that, to help map this thing 17:00.830 --> 17:05.610 where it's going, think about how crazy that would be. Even the sermons being preached, 17:05.750 --> 17:09.530 we'd be over here, over there, over here. You could jump all over the place, 17:09.530 --> 17:14.230 because you're not really heading anywhere. But part of what happens is when he shows you 17:14.230 --> 17:23.250 vision, you're like, ah man, I saw it. I saw it. I saw it. And so I gotta give you an example. 17:23.730 --> 17:28.670 Someone asked me, you know, so what motel are you staying at when you go up to 17:28.670 --> 17:35.410 to Red Lake? You know, what are you doing? No? You know, Bonnie goes up there and she drives 17:35.410 --> 17:39.650 three and a half hours or whatever it is from your place, and she comes back the same night. 17:41.730 --> 17:45.270 That's not a bragatory thing. See, there's times you'll ask us to not do certain things. So I'll speak 18:14.050 --> 18:19.310 in the morning the next day, right? Talk about test the intent of your heart. How bad do you 18:19.310 --> 18:27.680 want this? How bad do you want the people of Red Lake to be saved? Now you can go into another 18:27.680 --> 18:31.180 ditch and be like, I'm going to be the superhero, and I'll purposely put myself in 18:31.180 --> 18:35.960 all these spots, and I want people to know how I'm suffering, and that's a wrong intent of the 18:35.960 --> 18:39.840 heart. But sometimes he'll give you the vision, you got to head toward it, 18:39.900 --> 18:46.220 and you do whatever it takes to get there.
