And we have the vision book of this church there that honestly, I love, I love 00:46.880 --> 00:53.200 what both Pastor Vernon and Mary have done of literally recording and writing prophecies down 00:53.920 --> 00:59.940 directions that God has given on and so forth. It's so detailed. And it's, to me, it's awesome. So 00:59.940 --> 01:07.920 on Friday, we went after something that is in our vision book according to what God has called 01:08.520 --> 01:17.080 and deemed this house to be. And this prophecy was given back in 2005. Believe it or not, 01:17.080 --> 01:24.900 that's 20 years ago. That's wild. That's 20 years ago. Man, 2005. Yeah, I was a young lad. 01:26.540 --> 01:33.180 That's 20 years ago, man. You look really good for your age, man. 01:35.600 --> 01:38.460 You look really good. Because if we're not familiar with it, we can really veer off into a whole 02:44.860 --> 02:48.680 another track and start building our own train track. And then we begin to ask, well, 02:48.680 --> 02:51.320 God, why aren't you answering this, that and the third, where God's like, well, 02:51.340 --> 02:56.700 that's not what I called you to. So I think it's very important for us to get familiar with 02:56.700 --> 03:02.760 the vision book. It's very important for us to understand the standard that God has set 03:02.760 --> 03:09.660 for this house, the things that God has called this house to, because he's called us to it and 03:09.660 --> 03:15.260 he's awaiting us to respond to the things that he's called us to. So what we're really going 03:15.260 --> 03:19.980 after today, when we're talking about being a bride church, is we're simply going to be responding 03:20.540 --> 03:26.980 to that which God has already spoken to us. Again, this is back in 2005, friends. 2005, God spoke to this house and he said, 03:40.850 --> 03:46.510 you are to be a bride church. Here are some of the things that go along with that. 03:48.450 --> 03:53.690 Jesus is returning for a bride church. That's a statement in itself. 03:56.150 --> 04:05.150 Jesus is returning for a bride church. He is not returning for a harlot. He is not returning for a 04:05.150 --> 04:10.970 church. Now, this is considering us as a local body and across the nation and even across the 04:10.970 --> 04:16.410 world, God is returning for a bride church. What that means is that God is not coming back, or I 04:16.410 --> 04:23.670 should say the father is not sending his son back for a church that is a... that is a 04:23.670 --> 04:31.870 half lover of the bridegroom, of the son Jesus. The father is sending back his son when he sees 04:31.870 --> 04:38.970 that a church, a local body, and also a world, a bride church, is so mad in love with Jesus 04:38.970 --> 04:44.530 that there is nothing that satisfies them but Jesus. That's the type of church that the Lord 04:44.530 --> 04:53.250 is returning to. He's not returning to a to a church that is in harlotry. You know, 04:53.250 --> 04:58.510 when we think of harlotry, we think of somebody that's like, well, they're way over there. Harlotry 04:58.510 --> 05:04.390 is to have many lovers. It's the most simplest way that I can explain harlotry to you is to have 05:04.390 --> 05:13.690 many lovers. The father is not to shortchange his son of a harlot like bride. How many of you 05:13.690 --> 05:19.370 are fathers here and you have a daughter? Or let me put it this way. How many of you are 05:19.370 --> 05:27.010 fathers here and you have a son? Raise your hand if you have a son. Would you allow your son to marry 05:27.010 --> 05:33.650 a woman that's with your son yet at the same time she's texting other guys, she's going on 05:33.650 --> 05:38.370 coffee dates with other guys? Would you as an earthly father, would you let your son marry 05:38.370 --> 05:47.550 somebody like that? I wouldn't. I got three boys growing up. I wouldn't. So if we, like 05:47.550 --> 05:52.990 the scripture says, if we as earthly fathers can give good gifts to our children, how much more 05:52.990 --> 06:01.370 the heavenly father, if we have a standard for our sons, what kind of standard does the father 06:01.370 --> 06:07.750 have for his son? So the Lord is coming back for a bride church that is love sick according to 06:07.750 --> 06:14.470 what song of Solomon writes, love sick for the bridegroom Jesus. Here's a few other things 06:14.470 --> 06:23.470 in our vision book. As a bride church, we are not striving for mediocr, mediocracy. Am I saying that 06:23.470 --> 06:31.430 right? Am I saying that right pastor? You wrote it, so all right. As a bride church, we are not 06:31.430 --> 06:41.950 striving for mediocracy or comfortable life or being lukewarm as believers. Our approach to 06:41.950 --> 06:49.890 life and ministry will cause people to become hot after God or they will back away from us. 06:50.370 --> 06:54.650 It's what God has called us to be. That's what it means to be a bride church. 06:56.670 --> 07:04.490 Our approach, our approach, meaning as, as the head pastors, as I'll speak for my wife 07:04.490 --> 07:11.130 and myself, as the elders, as the leaders, as the workers, it trickles down. Our approach, or 07:11.130 --> 07:17.950 let me even say this, our approach should be, listen to what I'm saying. If you're a leader, 07:18.390 --> 07:23.730 if you're a worker, if you're a pastor, listen to what I'm saying. Our approach should be 07:24.650 --> 07:30.490 that the way that we live life would cause, or I should say the way that we live life and 07:30.490 --> 07:37.230 the way that we do ministry should cause people to either be hot after God that are following 07:37.230 --> 07:42.810 us, or they're just going to leave because it's too much for them. Get familiar with it. It is not a comfortable place to live as a church. 07:56.410 --> 08:00.370 This means to be a bride church. Why is it not comfortable? It's because this 08:06.670 --> 08:11.970 sinful nature, this wretched flesh of mine gets uncomfortable because I don't get to fulfill the 08:11.970 --> 08:17.610 desires of my flesh. There is areas in our church that still need to 11:49.820 --> 11:55.840 be cleansed and need to be washed by the Word. Because according to the Scriptures in Ephesians 11:55.840 --> 12:02.240 five, when the Apostle Paul is talking about marriage, he says, husbands, love your wives 12:02.240 --> 12:06.240 as Christ has loved the church. What did he do? He gave himself. 12:08.240 --> 12:16.260 The Lord gave himself so that the bride would be washed, that she would be cleansed, 12:16.260 --> 12:22.160 because the standard that the father has set for the bride to be the bride of his son is 12:22.160 --> 12:29.540 without blemish, without wrinkle, without spot. Can I be honest with you? Can I be honest with 12:29.540 --> 12:37.120 you? I love this house, but I know that there are spots, wrinkles, and blemishes that God has to 12:37.120 --> 12:41.700 iron out, that God has to work out, that God has to remove in this house. 12:43.440 --> 12:49.620 I would consider us to be a pretty mature church. I would. In all honesty, I don't know what 26:40.370 --> 26:45.890 that fully means, but I'm going to respond to the measure that I know how to.
