And I'll warn you, ahead of time in this church, we usually don't follow 00:20.440 --> 00:25.160 tradition. So you might have to get that message somewhere else. So that's why 00:25.160 --> 00:29.840 I was like, that sounds traditional or whatever. But he wants me to release the 00:29.840 --> 00:36.860 power of Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is not or thanks is not just a word that, you 00:36.860 --> 00:39.920 know, like you say, oh, thank you. It doesn't really mean much, but you're gonna 00:39.920 --> 00:46.420 come being kind and you move on. It's a power packed word that's full of God's 00:46.420 --> 00:51.820 energy. And if it's used right and done right, it opens the heavens. It 00:51.820 --> 00:57.260 changes how your mind functions. I will tell you as a person who has studied 00:57.260 --> 01:01.940 the brain a lot, that, you know, God knows all about the brain before 01:01.940 --> 01:06.500 psychology did. So don't get it in your head, oh, she's into psychology only and 01:06.500 --> 01:10.460 all this kind of stuff. It's just they just found out what he knew, right? He 01:10.460 --> 01:14.160 created us a certain way and they're excited about it. So I get excited 01:14.160 --> 01:19.640 about it too. If you spec scan the brain on your most depressed day, you 01:19.640 --> 01:24.200 know, spec scan is like beyond MRI. It's like an entire to be how your 01:24.800 --> 01:30.880 nervous system lights up. And all sudden I start talking to you about good 01:30.880 --> 01:34.860 things of God and you receive that, your brain chemistry will change right 01:34.860 --> 01:43.180 there on the scan. Same way, if I say everybody smile, it's changing 01:43.180 --> 01:46.820 hormones in your brain. It's changing chemicals just by you smiling. So 01:46.820 --> 01:50.820 sometimes you'll see me smile at odd times. Something's coming against 01:50.820 --> 01:56.020 the church. I'll be like, all right. I see what's happened here because it 01:56.020 --> 02:01.220 keeps you more grounded into reality than if you go with it because your 02:01.220 --> 02:05.440 chemicals and the physiological part of you will go there. So it's really 02:05.440 --> 02:10.380 interesting that especially for people who've been through a lot of trauma, we 02:10.380 --> 02:16.460 only see the things that were traumatic first. If you say, you know, what 02:16.460 --> 02:18.900 happened with you in fifth grade, you know, talk about how you went to 02:18.900 --> 02:23.140 the fair and you spent time with grandma. The thing that hurts you comes up 02:23.140 --> 02:30.540 first. You know why that is? It's because it's unresolved. It's unresolved. 02:30.720 --> 02:34.700 So things that are unresolved need closure. And when you have closure, 02:34.920 --> 02:39.020 you might be able to recall it, but you don't relive it. And so what 02:39.020 --> 02:45.560 happens is you become in a state of like an anger state or a hurt 02:45.560 --> 02:49.460 state, and you talk about those things with a bitter root. Many times 02:49.460 --> 02:53.300 in the fifth grade, you know, our whole tone changes, everything 02:53.300 --> 02:58.460 changes. So does our chemicals. They line up with what's happening. So it 02:58.460 --> 03:02.420 shoots a whole feeling through your body. This is why Romans says to set 03:02.420 --> 03:06.540 your mind on the things of God or set your mind like you'd set your 03:06.540 --> 03:12.180 faith. It also says that, set your faith. Hard to set your faith and be 03:12.180 --> 03:16.900 faithful, full of faith towards something if there's a negative root to 03:16.900 --> 03:21.720 it. Then we try to pull ourselves up to set a higher bar and it just 03:21.720 --> 03:25.960 ain't happening. We're just kind of down here. And so what will come 03:25.960 --> 03:33.340 out our mouth will be opposite of thankfulness. Yeah. Right. And then 03:33.340 --> 03:36.340 we got this thing called Thanksgiving that some people get 03:36.340 --> 03:42.000 excited about and others are like, because we might be getting 03:42.000 --> 03:46.900 together with people, we actually shouldn't be. We actually should have 03:46.900 --> 03:51.400 fixed something or broke it all the way, you know, or something. Did 03:51.400 --> 03:54.680 something that we feel forced to and we haven't, we don't have the 03:54.680 --> 03:57.420 skill to talk it through or others don't have the skill to talk it 03:57.420 --> 04:00.640 through. But you feel forced because of a tradition like this is 04:00.640 --> 04:05.720 what we have to do. And it's just like, oh man. And just that 04:05.720 --> 04:09.580 thought will cause us not to be thankful, which means we're not 04:09.580 --> 04:18.200 really there to give thanks at all. We're there to eat. I can eat 04:18.200 --> 04:21.840 at any time. I don't care. You know, it's like, what's a 04:21.840 --> 04:24.520 turkey, right? By this time of year, if there's all the 04:24.520 --> 04:27.020 different churches, I've been turkeyed out. I just, I'm done. 04:27.440 --> 04:30.500 I don't need any more turkey. But, but the thing about it 04:30.500 --> 04:34.280 is, it'll become the focus is more of like what we're 04:34.280 --> 04:38.160 presenting. And the heart doesn't line up with it. So 04:38.160 --> 04:43.160 there's not a genuine happiness. There's not a genuine joy. So 04:43.160 --> 04:49.860 it makes it open to the demonic realm to set up strife where 04:49.860 --> 04:52.080 there's strife, they're dwell at every evil and wicked thing. 04:53.240 --> 04:58.580 In case you didn't know. So somebody comes in and everybody's 04:58.580 --> 05:00.860 just happy and thankful. All you have to do is have one 05:00.860 --> 05:03.860 person that if you're not careful can change the whole 05:03.860 --> 05:09.020 atmosphere of the meal. Amen. Or of the church, or of whatever 05:09.020 --> 05:13.400 group you're a part of, if you allow that influence to happen. 05:14.220 --> 05:17.020 But this is what I know, thankfulness can overtake just 05:17.020 --> 05:21.220 like darkness gets overtaken by light. Thankfulness will drive 05:21.220 --> 05:28.860 that out. Amen. And so we have to understand. I really 05:28.860 --> 05:31.480 want you to understand the words thankful. And it might 05:31.480 --> 05:34.540 be like, I know this already or whatever. But this is how 05:34.540 --> 05:40.240 important it is. All words count. I'm just gonna start out 05:40.240 --> 05:46.040 with that rule. All words count. Because if God was going 05:46.040 --> 05:49.340 around saying stuff that didn't count, you know, that would 05:49.340 --> 05:51.820 kind of change things, wouldn't it? Or if all words 05:51.820 --> 05:53.700 count, and he just said whatever he wanted to say, 05:53.780 --> 05:56.740 just flippantly like we do. It's like, oh, we probably 05:56.740 --> 05:58.320 wouldn't be here. The world would be blown up or 05:58.320 --> 06:02.260 something. I don't know. And so our words count because out 06:02.260 --> 06:06.580 of the heart, the mouth speaks. In fact, it says Romans 10 06:06.580 --> 06:10.780 eight says, but what sayeth the word is nigh thee even in 06:10.780 --> 06:15.920 thy mouth and in thy heart? Who is the word? Jesus. That is 06:15.920 --> 06:19.380 the word of faith, which we preach. So we know where 06:19.380 --> 06:23.460 this portal is that's going to bring out good things or 06:23.460 --> 06:25.980 it's going to bring out bad things, right? And Romans 06:25.980 --> 06:29.300 three thirteen and fourteen says their throat is an open 06:29.300 --> 06:33.600 grave. What? That gets pretty blunt. Their throat is 06:33.600 --> 06:37.000 describing a people that aren't speaking the words of 06:37.000 --> 06:40.800 faith. Their throat is all is all open. It's all like an 06:40.800 --> 06:44.200 open grave. They use their tongues to deceive that the 06:44.200 --> 06:47.940 venom of asps is under their lips like a poison. Their 06:47.940 --> 06:52.060 mouth is full of curses and bitterness. So God takes 06:52.060 --> 06:56.640 the time in his word to separate out, you know, light 06:56.640 --> 07:00.100 from darkness, goodness from hatefulness. I mean, there 07:00.100 --> 07:02.580 is those different things and he just did it with these 07:02.580 --> 07:05.420 two verses. The word of faith is nigh thee even in thy 07:05.420 --> 07:08.580 mouth. If Christ is in the heart and you're making 07:08.580 --> 07:10.820 that your focus, that's what's going to come out 07:10.820 --> 07:13.800 your mouth. It's creative power. But your throat 07:13.800 --> 07:17.920 might be an open grave. If we have a bitter 07:18.840 --> 07:22.240 root. Because what comes out of your heart, it's like 07:22.240 --> 07:26.340 it's just open. Dead stuff comes out. Dead stuff 07:26.340 --> 07:29.480 comes out. It has to come under the 07:55.480 --> 07:59.280 fire of God, which is the Holy Spirit. He brings 07:59.280 --> 08:03.040 the fire. Amen? And so that's what causes a 08:03.040 --> 08:06.000 purification. But that doesn't mean like say you 08:06.000 --> 08:07.680 get the baptism of the Holy Spirit, you're fired up 08:07.680 --> 08:09.340 for a week and then you just don't pray in tongues 08:09.340 --> 08:11.100 and you don't really participate in any of the 08:11.100 --> 08:13.440 good things he's given you. Is your tongue 08:13.440 --> 08:18.860 being purified? No. It doesn't happen just when 08:18.860 --> 08:20.320 you're sleeping all of a sudden. It's cleaned up. 08:20.740 --> 08:24.120 It's you're coming alongside of the Holy Spirit. 08:24.240 --> 08:26.440 You're working together with the Holy Spirit. And then 14:49.090 --> 14:50.770 when we ended up praying with her 14:50.770 --> 14:52.530 and then talking to her and then 14:52.530 --> 14:53.990 calling her and just being a part 14:53.990 --> 14:55.310 of that, she couldn't wait to get 14:55.310 --> 14:56.930 back to church to find out what 14:56.930 --> 14:59.130 else was done for her. But we 14:59.130 --> 15:00.310 didn't recognize her when she 15:00.310 --> 15:02.710 came in. It was crazy. We're all 15:02.710 --> 15:03.650 looking for her like, where is 15:03.650 --> 15:05.850 she? She had done her hair up a 15:05.850 --> 15:07.230 little bit different, but her 15:07.230 --> 15:09.190 whole countenance was changed. 15:11.850 --> 15:13.650 So we do live in a physical 15:13.650 --> 15:15.930 body.
