WEBVTT 00:00.000 --> 00:05.600 Open up your Bibles to Isaiah 66 where we've been at, we've been talking about 00:07.620 --> 00:13.320 about revival is, and specifically coming at it from the angle that if we 00:14.080 --> 00:20.980 if we can create a dwelling place and a place of where God can rest, revival is inevitable. Meaning 00:20.980 --> 00:27.640 that it's going to happen. We don't have to focus on all the other things. If we can be a people 00:27.640 --> 00:35.360 that our hearts would burn for the Lord with first love. And those that burn for the Lord in first 00:35.360 --> 00:43.340 love, you're bound to create a resting place for the Lord. I mean, just think about it in your 00:43.340 --> 00:50.380 marriage. If you truly burn with love for your spouse, whether it's for your husband or whether 00:50.380 --> 00:55.940 it's for your wife, when you're burning with love for them, you're going to do everything 00:56.540 --> 01:05.840 that is within your power to have them enjoy coming where you're at. I mean, am I not right? 01:06.180 --> 01:08.560 Or do I have marriage not figured out yet? 01:15.620 --> 01:18.920 I think I can say I'm pretty confident in what I'm saying. 01:21.900 --> 01:26.700 My wife and I do everything that is within our power, because sometimes there is things that 01:26.700 --> 01:32.920 are out of your control to make somebody's place. But I mean, sometimes you can do A, B, C, D, E, 01:33.020 --> 01:37.760 F, G and go down the list and that spouse comes home and they're still crabby. That's not really 01:37.760 --> 01:48.340 on you. So they just probably had a bad day. But revival is something more, and I said 01:48.340 --> 01:55.360 this last Sunday, but revival is something more than just the signs and miracles and wonders, 01:56.100 --> 02:08.140 though that is a layer in revival. Revival is more than just mass salvation, though that is a layer 02:08.140 --> 02:14.960 in revival. I'm talking about biblical revival right now. I'm not talking about some fathomed 02:14.960 --> 02:21.460 up or we had revival. Did you really though? Because biblical revival has layers to it. And if you 02:21.460 --> 02:28.480 want to call it a biblical revival, then you have to have these layers within it to be able to claim 02:28.480 --> 02:37.760 that you had a biblical revival. Revival is more than just a bunch of people getting 02:37.760 --> 02:43.960 delivered and set free and filled with the Holy Ghost, though that's a layer in revival. 02:46.920 --> 02:53.480 Revival has layers in it if you actually study it in the scriptures and you look at the first revival 02:53.480 --> 03:01.800 that we see in the book of Acts. There is layers to revival, but at the core, the core of what 03:01.800 --> 03:08.300 revival is, and I said this in my first few messages, the core of what biblical revival is. 03:08.300 --> 03:17.440 It is a people who are revived in their first love or to their first love onto the Lord, 03:17.680 --> 03:25.360 which then causes them to create a dwelling place for their God. That's biblical revival. 03:25.980 --> 03:33.400 And then all the other layers actually come with it. I promise you, listen to me, listen 03:33.400 --> 03:43.340 to me, I promise you. And why I make such a confident promise to you is because you can find it 03:43.340 --> 03:51.500 in the book of Acts. I think it's chapter four. Listen to me. If we are a people or can be a 03:51.500 --> 04:01.440 people that would love God with our first love and create a dwelling place for him here, mass 04:01.440 --> 04:11.320 salvation will come by the hundreds. You're saying, how can you say that so confidently? I think it's 04:11.320 --> 04:18.500 Acts four. That the fear of God fell on the early church. And guess what? It says thousands 04:18.500 --> 04:29.760 were added to the church that day. Not one or two thousands were added to the church that day. 04:31.880 --> 04:38.100 Because Peter stood up and the eleven with him and they just gave the gospel. 04:40.420 --> 04:47.320 They gave the gospel that cut the people deep to the heart. In other words, Peter stood up 04:47.320 --> 04:53.820 with his first love onto the Lord and he preached the gospel to the people. 04:55.820 --> 05:01.960 And the Bible says they were cut to the heart and thousands were added to the church. 05:04.140 --> 05:12.440 So at the core of revival lays first love, a people that have first love onto their God. 05:12.440 --> 05:20.740 And with that first love, they are creating a dwelling place and a resting place for God 05:20.740 --> 05:31.380 to come and dwell and find pleasure and rest. That's revival. And all else follows. 05:32.860 --> 05:38.760 The signs and the miracles and the wonders. They followed the apostles. Why? Because they 05:38.760 --> 05:51.360 were just madly in love with Jesus. That's it, friends. That's it. There's layers to revival. 05:51.660 --> 05:56.880 And at the core of it, I've searched it. I've looked at it from this angle. I've looked at 05:56.880 --> 06:01.760 it from that angle. I've looked at it every which way. And I find this one thing. 06:04.400 --> 06:10.000 A people that are living and walking in first love onto the Lord. 06:11.180 --> 06:11.940 Yeah. 06:11.940 --> 06:18.460 Lives laid down. They've counted the cost. They have found him worthy. And they're willing 06:18.460 --> 06:22.040 to do anything for the sake of knowing him. 06:24.320 --> 06:31.360 And what's interesting is that when you know him, you cannot not make him known to other people. 06:32.180 --> 06:37.080 It goes hand in hand. That's like me being a mechanic. 06:38.500 --> 06:44.080 Me being a mechanic, it just comes out of me. I talk about cars. I talk about motors. I talk about 06:44.080 --> 06:50.280 bolts, nuts, and engine hoists, or whatever you want to call it. It comes out of you naturally. 06:53.020 --> 07:01.380 Do you know how you can detect what your first love is? One way that you can detect what your 07:01.380 --> 07:10.440 first love is. It's what you talk about the most. For from the depths of the heart, thy mouth speaks. 07:14.220 --> 07:19.020 And I'm talking about talking not when you're around certain people. No, when you're around 07:19.020 --> 07:25.620 your wife and it's just you and her. What do you talk about the most? Are you talking about 07:25.620 --> 07:31.960 the problems? Are you talking about work? What is at the forefront of your conversations 07:32.520 --> 07:38.600 with the people that you are the most comfortable with? Because remember, it's easy to be a Christian 07:38.600 --> 07:44.200 on a Sunday. It's super easy. You just put on a nice Brazilian shirt and you put on some nice 07:44.840 --> 07:53.750 cool shoes. It's easy, friends. It's easy. But what about when nobody else is looking? 07:55.470 --> 08:00.450 What about the conversations that you're having that the church people are not seeing? 08:03.010 --> 08:10.410 You can detect what your first love is of that which you talk about the most. It's at the forefront 08:10.410 --> 08:21.030 of what you talk and more than that what you think about. So Isaiah 66 gives us three things 08:21.670 --> 08:28.170 of how to create a resting place for God. If you think about it, it's very simple. 08:29.750 --> 08:38.230 It is very simple. The reason why we have complicated it, the reason why we find it hard, 08:39.310 --> 08:45.590 the reason why we don't see it happening is, I can just tell you one word. There's many more 08:45.590 --> 08:51.670 too, but I can just tell you one word. We're selfish. That's it. That's why it's hard. 08:52.650 --> 08:57.730 That's why we don't see it. That's why we've complicated it because we're selfish. 08:59.910 --> 09:02.530 I'm guilty of it just as much as you're guilty of it. 09:04.230 --> 09:08.310 Do you know why I say that with such confidence? Because if the Apostle Paul, 09:08.590 --> 09:15.730 who by the way had an amazing resume, I mean just read 2 Corinthians, I think it's 2 09:15.730 --> 09:20.470 Corinthians chapter 11 and chapter 12, read the Apostle Paul's resume. 09:22.990 --> 09:33.550 And if the Apostle Paul made this statement, I have to crucify my flesh daily. That tells me 09:33.550 --> 09:39.850 if he was selfish and he had to crucify his flesh daily, that means I'm selfish. And I 09:39.850 --> 09:50.400 have to crucify my flesh daily. Don't think that you're just because you've grown a year that 09:51.400 --> 09:56.420 that's it. You're like selfishness is nowhere. Friend, do you remember in my message I said, 09:56.540 --> 09:59.860 you might be so humble that you don't even pronounce the word H. You're just humble. 10:03.850 --> 10:11.830 We have to crucify our flesh daily. Every time I get into the presence of the Lord, 10:11.910 --> 10:17.550 whether I'm alone or wherever it is, I'm with him and I see him and then I see myself in him 10:17.550 --> 10:21.470 and I'm like, wow, I got to die to some things. 10:24.190 --> 10:29.750 And it's not a bad thing because the world and the church world has portrayed it in a bad thing of 10:29.750 --> 10:37.870 like, well, just be self-care. Just take care of yourself. And going down, listen, the best self-care 10:37.870 --> 10:45.170 you can have is to be found in the Lord. Why? Because he said he who loses his life will 10:45.170 --> 10:54.160 actually find it. You don't fill churches. You don't fill conferences. You don't fill 10:54.160 --> 10:59.520 Bible schools with the teaching of death to self and bearing your cross. You just don't. 10:59.900 --> 11:06.460 And it's very unfortunate that you don't because it's such a remedy. It's such a truth 11:06.460 --> 11:15.280 and the depth in there that we cast it aside because we've misrepresented it or it hurts 11:15.280 --> 11:22.200 our selfishness. See, I'm going way like this way, but I think we're tracking somewhere here. 11:23.460 --> 11:30.300 Isaiah 66, the three things that create a dwelling place for God, which I desire for 11:30.300 --> 11:34.460 us to have here as a pastor, that is like at the forefront of my heart. 11:36.080 --> 11:44.240 I want us to be a church that has such a dwelling place for the Almighty. 11:44.400 --> 11:50.080 This is my heart. It is. That we would have such a dwelling place for our God in this place. 11:52.640 --> 11:59.040 Man. Oh, I'm just going to stop there. No, no, no, I'm going to go. 12:00.920 --> 12:06.220 That we would be a church that is so, has so created a dwelling place 12:07.280 --> 12:11.520 for the Lord that when new people come, they leave 12:13.720 --> 12:20.940 so in love with Jesus that it changes their life. I'm meaning literally changes their life. 12:23.920 --> 12:28.760 That when they walk through the front doors of our church and they come through the vestibule, 12:29.000 --> 12:32.280 into the foyer, into the hallway, through the doors of the sanctuary, 12:32.280 --> 12:39.580 that there would be such a resting place for God here that the love of God would just abound 12:39.580 --> 12:45.240 and it would rest and these people would come and they would be like, what is this? 12:46.840 --> 12:53.480 And God would confirm his word like the Scripture says with signs and miracles and wonders. 12:57.620 --> 13:03.060 I desire for people not just to come and have an experience here. 13:04.420 --> 13:09.660 I love when new people come. I love when new people come. But when the new people come, 13:09.780 --> 13:14.440 I don't want them just to come and say that was a great church. That was a great experience. 13:14.440 --> 13:21.860 I want them to come and be so touched by the love of God that when they leave, they're never the same. 13:23.540 --> 13:30.120 And as they're here, that word, the word of love would be confirmed with signs and miracles 13:30.120 --> 13:42.680 and wonders. That's my heart for this church. We went through, God says on these ones I look, 13:42.680 --> 13:47.380 who is poor and of a contrite spirit, we went through those and just today I'm going to just 13:47.380 --> 13:53.060 going to scratch it a little bit due to time. I'm going to scratch the third part where he says, 13:53.180 --> 13:58.880 I look on those who are poor in spirit, contrite in spirit and who tremble at my word. 14:02.040 --> 14:08.380 God looks at people. We're talking about, I say this a lot because I'm really trying to catch 14:08.380 --> 14:16.680 you. I'm trying to drill this into your mind. The Genesis one God. I know I say that a lot. 14:16.780 --> 14:21.340 I know I do. And I'm going to keep saying it because I want that to speak volume to you. 14:23.400 --> 14:34.480 The Genesis one God looks at people. He gives favor. We can catch the attention 14:34.480 --> 14:38.920 of the Genesis one God. He can be caught up with us. 14:41.480 --> 14:49.200 You say, well, doesn't he love us already? He does love us already. But there is something about 14:49.200 --> 14:57.580 an exchange that causes God to be moved and be caught up with the people that tremble at his 14:57.580 --> 15:09.160 word. To tremble at the word of God is both, by the way, it's the, it's the rama word, which is the 15:09.160 --> 15:16.040 spoken word. And I believe it's the logos, which is the written word. To tremble at the word of 15:16.040 --> 15:25.880 God is, or I should say has more than just a physical feeling or experience to it. But there 15:25.880 --> 15:33.440 is actually both a physical and an emotional thing that occurs when we tremble at his word. 15:35.220 --> 15:39.880 It's both a natural thing and it's both a spiritual thing. 15:41.620 --> 15:50.500 To tremble at the word of God, one meaning of it is to literally shake and almost like 15:50.500 --> 15:56.220 travail. Like you ever seen somebody so scared because they saw a snake? 15:57.180 --> 16:02.560 That was probably me. And you, and you shake in your boots. Isn't there a saying like an 16:02.560 --> 16:07.280 American saying, he shook in his boots? Yeah? Okay. See, I got him. I've been hanging around 16:07.280 --> 16:16.940 Pastor Vern long enough. I got him. To tremble at the word of God, one translation or one 16:16.940 --> 16:24.240 meaning of it is to literally shake. It is, it is to travail at the word of God. Just, 16:24.420 --> 16:32.040 just seek the scriptures and just, and look how many times that God spoke and people literally 16:32.040 --> 16:40.860 shook. I mean, Paul, Saul at that time, was rocked by the word of the Lord, fell off his 16:40.860 --> 16:51.340 horse, was blinded from what he just heard. We're talking about the prophets of old when 16:51.340 --> 16:57.960 they would hear God speak and audible voice would speak. They shook and the scripture said, 16:58.100 --> 17:04.380 they actually told Moses after God spoke for Mount Sinai, the people actually told Moses, 17:04.380 --> 17:14.680 they said, no, no, no, you go talk to him. You go talk to him, Moses. And then whatever he tells you, 17:15.240 --> 17:23.560 you come down and you now relay it to us because when you speak, it's not as trembling to us. 17:26.480 --> 17:31.820 We're always wanting to hear the audible voice of God, which I think is an awesome 17:31.820 --> 17:38.500 desire to have. It is. I think it's great for us to have a desire. I want to hear you God audibly, 17:38.620 --> 17:45.840 but I don't think that in our full gospel circles, in our Pentecostal circles, we actually know what 17:45.840 --> 17:55.540 that means. I honestly believe that. I don't think we know what it actually means when an 17:55.540 --> 18:05.480 audible voice of God, the Father speaks to us and what it actually causes and the reaction that we have. 18:08.800 --> 18:17.060 I mean, God speaks about his son Jesus when Jesus was on earth and his voice, the audible voice 18:17.060 --> 18:25.220 of the Father, the scripture says the heavens split open. That's what his voice does. 18:28.520 --> 18:33.680 And I'm not trying to bash anybody. Maybe some of you have had audible experiences. I don't know, 18:33.760 --> 18:38.400 I'm not trying to bash anybody, but when I read the scriptures and then you hear people tell you 18:38.400 --> 18:44.920 stories that they heard the audible voice of God, I question it not because I don't have 18:44.920 --> 18:52.560 belief, but I question it because when I read the scriptures and I hear or see the audible 18:52.560 --> 19:00.820 voice of God, the response is different and the occurrence is different than what people 19:00.820 --> 19:07.840 share with me. And more than that, what actually follows up with it is different than what the 19:07.840 --> 19:13.940 scriptures say happens to somebody that actually hear the audible voice of God. 19:16.360 --> 19:20.400 So to tremble at his voice is to literally shake. 19:22.660 --> 19:29.320 It is literally, think about it. I'm debating if I should share something or not. 19:32.590 --> 19:41.810 I'll share it this way. I know a man who sought the Lord. 19:44.770 --> 19:47.710 And when I say they sought the Lord, I'm going somewhere with this here. 19:48.570 --> 19:52.990 They sought the Lord with such intensity because they wanted to know him. 19:53.630 --> 19:59.510 What actually came out of the heart and the spirit of this man were these two things. 20:00.190 --> 20:04.570 He said, I want to know you and I want to be and I want to make you known. 20:05.730 --> 20:10.990 And there was a time in this man's life that when the Lord actually showed up, I believe 20:10.990 --> 20:15.790 this man said that he even heard the Lord audibly. The Lord spoke to him and what 20:15.790 --> 20:20.590 actually occurred or the result of that encounter, that audible encounter, what actually 20:20.590 --> 20:27.670 occurred, aligns with the scriptures. And what I mean by that is that he was curled up in a fetal 20:27.670 --> 20:36.190 position, travailing and trembling under the presence of God when the voice came and spoke to him. 20:39.880 --> 20:44.320 But see, that's what I'm talking about. That's the trembling at the word. It's the 20:44.320 --> 20:48.880 trembling at the spoken word, the rainbow word, and it's actually the trembling 20:49.900 --> 20:56.860 at the written word. I mean, honestly, I'm just going to ask you, don't answer this, 20:57.100 --> 21:03.700 but when is the last time that you read the scriptures that it cuts you so deep to your 21:03.700 --> 21:13.060 heart that you actually trembled at what you read? When you actually trembled, 21:13.200 --> 21:16.360 when you read about the holiness of who our God is? 21:19.220 --> 21:25.020 When you actually trembled when you read about the wrathfulness of God? 21:28.390 --> 21:35.730 When is the last time that people in the church have actually experienced the emotion or the 21:35.730 --> 21:46.000 trembling of his word when we read the scriptures? But we read the scriptures as a chore. 21:49.120 --> 21:53.780 We read it because we have to, and to some extent, there's truth there. 21:56.520 --> 22:04.480 But I'm trying to show you a distinct difference on whom God looks and on whom God just sees. 22:06.840 --> 22:14.480 And according to Isaiah 66, he says, I look on those who tremble at my word, 22:14.480 --> 22:17.920 both the reyma, the spoken, and the written word. 22:19.800 --> 22:23.400 He says, I look on them because they get it, 22:26.100 --> 22:33.760 because they get the severity of my word. Do you know what the problem is? There's many 22:33.760 --> 22:37.600 problems in the church, and we can list them on and on and on and on. But do you know what 22:37.600 --> 22:41.800 one of the forefront problems is in the church is we've left the fundamentals? 22:43.320 --> 22:48.760 This is what I mean. We have taken this right here. We have taken it too lightly. 22:52.240 --> 22:55.260 Church, I'm telling you, we've taken this too lightly. 22:56.960 --> 23:03.980 We've taken this book and our approach towards it, our view of it. We've actually taken it way 23:03.980 --> 23:13.440 too lightly. And I think the reason is is that we've gotten way too loosey-goosey and grace, 23:13.860 --> 23:19.600 grace, grace, and all this stuff. And we've gotten way too loose with the scriptures. 23:22.440 --> 23:28.100 I look at the way that the generations before me, the way that they viewed the 23:28.100 --> 23:35.060 scriptures, and the way that they handled the scriptures with reverence. Yet we, listen, 23:35.460 --> 23:42.920 yet we now call that religiousness. You're just a Pharisee, no friend. That's actually 23:42.920 --> 23:52.350 reverence onto the Word of God. We have now misinterpreted things. Let me share with you 23:52.350 --> 23:57.970 something. The Lord told me this years ago. He said, son, He said, I'm going to cause you 23:57.970 --> 24:04.030 to live such a holy life, which I'm on the road to it. I'm not there yet, but I'm on the road to it. 24:04.690 --> 24:10.450 He said, I'm going to cause you to live such a holy life that people are going to call you 24:10.450 --> 24:20.990 religious. Because we now interpret that which is holy. We now interpret that religion. 24:28.110 --> 24:33.950 We have taken the very scriptures of God far too lightly. And you say, how do you, 24:33.950 --> 24:40.730 how do you come to that conclusion? Very simple. Very simple. You ready for this? 24:41.430 --> 24:51.640 We don't read our Bibles. We don't read our Bibles for what they're actually meant for. 24:53.280 --> 25:02.100 We read them as a chore. We read them because, well, I have to. But we don't read them with 25:02.100 --> 25:07.300 the heart burning of first love and trembling when we read the scriptures. 25:08.120 --> 25:12.000 That's how I come to the conclusion that we've taken this book too lightly. 25:15.420 --> 25:21.920 We've taken the very scriptures of God that He has spoken to us, that He has written to us 25:21.920 --> 25:28.280 to read as an instruction manual of how to create a dwelling place for Him of who He is. 25:29.280 --> 25:35.580 Why do we misrepresent Him? Because we don't read His scriptures. And when we do read them, 25:35.860 --> 25:45.120 we read them for the wrong reasons. May our hearts be refined and purified when we're reading 25:45.120 --> 25:53.680 the scriptures. Listen to me. May our hearts be refined by the Holy Spirit and become pure 25:53.680 --> 25:59.360 when we read the scriptures. May we read them for the right reasons. 26:07.050 --> 26:11.450 But God says, I look on those who tremble at my word. 26:19.930 --> 26:27.930 You can't understand God and who He is if you are not caught up in His word. 26:28.770 --> 26:37.690 You just can't. Friend, I can sit here all day long and I can tell you about my God. I can. 26:38.950 --> 26:45.550 I can tell you about Jesus all day long. I can tell you about the encounters and the 26:45.550 --> 26:51.230 different things of how the Lord speaks and how He moves and how He what pleases them, 26:51.230 --> 26:57.930 what doesn't please Him. I can sit here and tell you all of these things, but unless, unless 26:58.610 --> 27:04.710 you get into the scriptures, all you're doing with my words is you're putting on Saul's armor. 27:06.030 --> 27:12.850 You're not holding your sling and your stones. You are actually wearing Saul's armor. 27:15.350 --> 27:23.270 Unless you get into the scriptures, unless you tremble at the word both spoken and written word 27:23.270 --> 27:32.150 of God, you will not have your sling and your stones. And when a Goliath arises, you won't 27:32.150 --> 27:38.990 know how to take them down. You actually won't even recognize that that thing is defying the 27:38.990 --> 27:47.130 name of God. He's mocking God, and you won't even recognize it. Why? Because the only Jesus you know 27:47.130 --> 27:52.490 is the Jesus that is preached from the gospel or from the pulpit of your pastor. 27:53.330 --> 27:57.510 But you don't know Him. You've only heard about Him as Job writes. 27:59.570 --> 28:07.180 Are you following me? Are you following what I'm saying? 28:09.780 --> 28:18.980 I desire to have this place be a dwelling place for God to rest, to dwell, and have pleasure in. 28:19.960 --> 28:25.900 And it's going to take more than just the pastor. It's going to take more than just the worship 28:25.900 --> 28:32.960 group. It is going to take us as a whole, as a body, to create such a place for God. 28:32.960 --> 28:37.120 Each and every one of you are literally... I'm not just saying this to tickle your ears. 28:37.320 --> 28:44.060 I'm being genuine and real with you. Each and every one of you are important to this local body 28:44.060 --> 28:50.060 to create a dwelling place for God. According to 1 Corinthians 12, 28:52.100 --> 28:57.180 all of us, to function together, to be in harmony in one accord, 28:59.100 --> 29:03.160 to have God come and rest in a way that will blow our socks off. 29:11.630 --> 29:19.410 To tremble at His Word is to have deep respect for the Word of God. 29:22.250 --> 29:27.610 It is to have the most deepest respect 29:30.570 --> 29:36.370 to what He has written and what He has spoken. You know what boggles my mind sometimes? 29:38.430 --> 29:45.790 Is that we'll have a powerful service. I'm not zeroing anybody out. I'm just being very 29:45.790 --> 29:51.670 transparent with you. I'm being real with you. But it boggles my mind sometimes that 29:51.670 --> 29:58.990 we'll have a powerful service and we'll actually have a prophecy given, like God speaking. 30:00.870 --> 30:07.670 And then you ask people in two, three days, what did God speak? Oh, I don't know. 30:08.830 --> 30:13.890 I mean, it was like Pastor Vern got up and he prayed in the Spirit and then he said some 30:13.890 --> 30:20.750 things. It's like, really? Where's the deep respect to what we just experienced? 30:21.670 --> 30:24.630 But what happens, listen to me, what happens in our full gospel, 30:24.990 --> 30:30.850 Pentecostal circles, is that we get so used to these things and they almost become like 30:30.850 --> 30:38.990 mundane for us. And then we actually lose the aspect of trembling at His Word. We become numb 30:38.990 --> 30:48.770 to the feeling of, that was God that spoke. That was actually the Lord that was instructing 30:48.770 --> 30:56.630 us. That was actually the Lord that was speaking to us. Yet I'm so dull in my heart that I would 30:56.630 --> 31:06.390 forget. And I would treat it as nonchalant and not even have the deep respect for what was 31:06.390 --> 31:13.470 just spoken by God. Unless, unless we have a disbelief that God even speaks to us. That could 31:13.470 --> 31:19.870 be another reason why people are like, well, I don't know. Do we not believe that God can speak to us? 31:20.710 --> 31:27.970 I believe we're a church that is well established there. That God actually communes with us 31:27.970 --> 31:36.970 on a day-to-day basis. We are not a syncretistic church. I said we are not a syncretistic 31:36.970 --> 31:44.630 church. And what I mean by that is that syncretism is, well, God doesn't really speak to me. It's maybe 31:44.630 --> 31:51.230 through somebody. No, we are not those people. Jesus did not pay a price for me to be somebody 31:51.230 --> 31:58.370 that only can hear God through somebody else. No. The Lord paid a price for me to have access 31:58.370 --> 32:05.010 into the Holy of Holies and to commune with Him on a day-to-day basis. That's the price 32:05.010 --> 32:08.970 that the Lord paid for me. I don't know about you, but that's the price that God paid for me. 32:12.140 --> 32:20.960 I don't have to go to a priest and do one of these and the Holy Blood. No. The price of Jesus 32:20.960 --> 32:38.380 has paid for me to access past the veil, to receive past the veil. So to tremble is 32:38.380 --> 32:44.620 to have deep respect. To tremble is to have high regard onto the scriptures. 32:46.940 --> 32:55.380 The scriptures take higher priority, if you want to put it that way, than any other thought, 32:56.000 --> 33:01.960 than any other situation, even though I don't see... I talked about this last Sunday, 33:01.960 --> 33:08.100 even though I may not see the fullness of the scripture manifest itself in my life, 33:08.440 --> 33:11.800 I don't let the high regard of the scriptures be taken away. Does that make sense? 33:12.460 --> 33:18.640 Let me say it this way. If there's a situation that I'm facing and I'm not seeing the very 33:18.640 --> 33:25.260 scriptures manifest in their fullness, that doesn't mean that now the scriptures become 33:25.260 --> 33:31.600 lower than the situation that I am facing. I keep it at a high regard because that is one 33:31.600 --> 33:39.160 who trembles at the word of God. I don't allow the pain, I'm not saying it's easy, 33:39.820 --> 33:46.180 but I don't allow the pain that I am facing to now take precedent or to take priority 33:46.760 --> 33:51.800 over what the scriptures actually say. Because the problem of why we're not 33:51.800 --> 33:57.140 seeing the scriptures take full manifest is not the fact that the scriptures are now 33:57.140 --> 34:01.120 dead and they don't work. It's the fact that we're lacking something. 34:03.040 --> 34:09.360 There is something that we are lacking in why we're not seeing the scriptures in its fullness. 34:10.580 --> 34:16.980 And with that being said, a lot of the times I feel like when people get into that stage 34:16.980 --> 34:21.600 or when you say that, people are like, oh okay, so then it's my fault. Not necessarily your 34:21.600 --> 34:27.900 fault, because God is not condemning you, but there is probably a piece to the puzzle 34:27.900 --> 34:33.500 that you're missing that still needs to be found. I mean, think of it this way. Imagine you go to 34:33.500 --> 34:41.140 Goodwill and you buy a thousand piece puzzle. You got it for 99 cents, steal of a deal. 34:42.900 --> 34:47.040 And you bring that puzzle home. Obviously it's been open because you see duct tape 34:47.040 --> 34:50.340 on it so you're like, all right, well somebody enjoyed it. It's my turn to enjoy it. 34:50.900 --> 34:56.380 And you bring that puzzle home and you begin to put it together. A week goes by, a month goes by, 34:56.560 --> 35:01.920 two years go by if you're me, and you're putting together that puzzle. And all of a sudden, 35:01.920 --> 35:06.040 towards the end, you see that there is a few pieces that are missing. 35:09.140 --> 35:14.520 Is it your fault that the pieces are missing? No. Why? Because you bought it used. 35:17.180 --> 35:21.220 Now you are seeking whether you're going on eBay, whether you're going on Facebook, 35:21.500 --> 35:27.980 whether you're going back to Goodwill. You are seeking high and low to find the pieces 35:27.980 --> 35:34.080 of that puzzle to bring it to full completion. This is what I'm talking about when the 35:34.080 --> 35:39.140 scriptures aren't manifested fully in our lives. It's not that the scriptures don't 35:39.140 --> 35:46.420 work anymore. We're missing the piece of the puzzle and we are to seek high and low. We are to 35:46.420 --> 35:52.620 knock at the door of heaven and say, Father, you said that you would make it known to me. 35:55.060 --> 36:02.520 Father, I desire to understand that which I am lacking. It is my right according to what 36:02.520 --> 36:10.380 your son Jesus paid for. It's to be enlightened fully of the scriptures, to understand what am I 36:10.380 --> 36:16.080 missing to why I'm not seeing the scriptures come to full manifestation in my life. 36:17.200 --> 36:24.000 Why God is this pain still greater? It's not that it's your fault and now God is condemning 36:24.000 --> 36:31.380 you. No. Keep seeking. Did not the Lord say seek, ask, and knock? By the way, that's a 36:31.380 --> 36:39.540 non-stop thing. You keep doing that. You keep doing it. And as you move forward, 36:39.900 --> 36:48.970 you're going to face new things. If we figure God out in one generation, I don't want to serve 36:48.970 --> 36:56.070 that God. I'm serious. If we were to figure God out in one generation, I don't want to know 36:56.070 --> 37:04.590 that God. Every other God is an idol. There is one true living God and he is 37:06.330 --> 37:12.810 far greater and far bigger. It's going to take us all of eternity to get to know him. 37:15.830 --> 37:23.030 I'll hit one more and then we'll close out. To tremble at his word is to have awe and 37:23.030 --> 37:35.720 reverence onto his word. The book of Hebrews is one of my favorite books in the Bible. 37:37.120 --> 37:42.560 And do you know why? Because when you read the book of Hebrews, the author there 37:43.640 --> 37:52.140 brings this comparison between Jesus and Moses and Jesus and Adam and Jesus and this and 37:52.140 --> 37:58.020 all these things. Because Hebrews speaks about the supremacy of Christ. 38:01.140 --> 38:05.560 That's literally why it's my favorite book. I love the Bible. I really do love the Bible, 38:05.700 --> 38:12.480 all of it. But the book of Hebrews has been such a marking book in my life, even in my earlier 38:12.480 --> 38:16.980 days of walking in the faith and in ministry. The book of Hebrews has been such a marking 38:16.980 --> 38:23.580 because when I read it, there's new discoveries of the supremacy of who Jesus is. 38:25.120 --> 38:33.140 And we tremble at the word of God with awe and reverence because this word speaks about his supremacy. 38:35.420 --> 38:42.440 It's like when you read about somebody who's just your average Joe farmer 38:42.440 --> 38:47.100 and you read about him and you're like, oh cool, that guy is, you know, 38:47.960 --> 38:53.840 our attitude towards him or her is like, oh cool, that person was this. But then when you 38:53.840 --> 38:59.920 read about somebody who's made an impact in history, have you noticed that our 39:00.440 --> 39:03.280 heart posture towards reading those stories are different? 39:05.700 --> 39:09.800 Have you noticed that? You read about somebody that's just an average Joe, 39:09.800 --> 39:16.960 but then you read about somebody who's actually made an impact in history. And our heart posture is 39:16.960 --> 39:24.040 there is this like reverence and awe, almost this respect that's due on to that individual when we 39:24.040 --> 39:29.980 read about him. That's the attitude we ought to have when we read the scriptures. That's 39:29.980 --> 39:37.960 trembling at the word of God. It's the heart posture that literally Jesus came and he shifted 39:37.960 --> 39:48.520 history. Literally, you want to talk about history being forever changed? There is nobody who has 39:48.520 --> 39:56.540 done it better than Jesus. The world was on a road of self-destruction and hell quicker than you 39:56.540 --> 40:08.840 can say Mississippi. And the Lord steps in and literally changes the course and the history 40:08.840 --> 40:17.860 of the universe to now redirect. Talk about history being changed. There is nobody that's 40:17.860 --> 40:26.080 impacted history far greater than Jesus Christ himself. Literally impacted it through and through. 40:26.880 --> 40:35.220 We still talk about him. I'm telling you, it's been thousands of years and we still talk about 40:35.220 --> 40:43.340 him. Ain't that wild? You ever thought about that? Even those that don't like him, they still talk about 40:43.340 --> 40:49.700 him. You know what's interesting is that those that don't like him talk about him more than 40:49.700 --> 40:56.240 those that actually like him. It's a different tone. Yeah, it is. There's a little bit of 40:56.240 --> 41:03.040 cuss words in there, but they say his name so much. And I'm like, man, you must really 41:03.040 --> 41:07.300 want to get to know Jesus, don't you? Because every other word that comes out of your 41:07.300 --> 41:17.740 mouth that follows the foul word is the name of my Lord. He has affected history so much 41:17.740 --> 41:27.760 that literally even in secular, in secular shows and movies, they mock him. But guess what? 41:28.120 --> 41:34.460 They're still talking about him. I'm not saying that's okay, but I'm just trying to give you 41:34.460 --> 41:42.500 perspective of how much our Lord has actually impacted history. They talk about him. They might 41:42.500 --> 41:46.960 mock him, but the answer, don't worry, is just like the Apostle Paul writes in Philippians. 41:47.340 --> 41:52.520 He says, hey, are they preaching Christ? They might be preaching him out of self-ambition, 41:52.840 --> 42:00.040 out of self-gain. He says, who cares? They're preaching Christ. They might be mocking him 42:00.040 --> 42:05.960 in these movies and in these shows. And I'm not saying who cares, but friends, he impacted their 42:05.960 --> 42:15.040 world so much, they're still talking about my Lord, the coming King who can't wait 42:15.700 --> 42:21.200 to be united with his bride. He is waiting for the Father to say, go, son, go and get her. 42:21.600 --> 42:26.180 Now is the time. That's my Jesus. 42:28.980 --> 42:36.700 That's my Jesus. The Jesus that impacted history to that measure. I don't know about you, but that's my 42:36.700 --> 42:48.630 Jesus. That's my Lord. Let's pray. I'll have you stand on your feet. Father, we thank you. 42:50.210 --> 42:57.350 Lord, we thank you and we love you for what you have done in our lives and are still doing 42:57.350 --> 43:04.550 in our lives. Lord, we thank you that you have enlightened our hearts to see the truth. 43:06.710 --> 43:12.210 And we pray that we would be a people that would tremble at your word, God, that our hearts 43:12.210 --> 43:19.990 would be changed and the posture of them would be changed of our approach to your word. 43:21.870 --> 43:27.670 And cause trembling to arise for both your spoken and written word, my God. 43:31.870 --> 43:38.650 We desire for this house to be a place of where you rest and you dwell and you are pleased with 43:38.650 --> 43:45.950 and we understand, Lord, with our minds sobered and our hearts washed over by your spirit, 43:46.390 --> 43:51.490 we understand, God, that we must tremble to have you rest in your fullness. 43:52.650 --> 44:00.450 So help us, Holy Spirit. Help us, Holy Spirit, counsel us and lead us 44:03.510 --> 44:10.570 in the mighty name of Jesus. Bless us as we leave this place. 44:11.930 --> 44:17.110 Bless us as we leave this place. Show us yourself this week, Lord. I'm asking that you would 44:17.110 --> 44:26.070 simply show us your face this week. Mark us. Touch us. In Jesus' name. If you agree, would you say amen?
