Your Board Candidates

These are your candidates for the Board of Directors Election

Judy Derby

Victoria Avenue
 Incumbent Board Director

I have lived in Towne Pointe for 11 years, and have been so grateful to have found a
wonderful, friendly and affordable place to live. The care and maintenance of Towne Point requires that 5 homeowner/members volunteer to be on the board for terms of one or two years. I have served on the board several times, and was board
president for two years and currently I am the Vice President. For the last year I have been on the board again, as I was asked to fill in for a board member who dropped out. I have been asked to run again, as we always have a lot of difficulty finding residents willing to step up and take a turn on the board.  It is not a time consuming or difficult job! If someone wants to step up to take my place, let us know. Otherwise, hope to see you at the meetings!

Bill Higgins

Renee Place
 Incumbent Board Director

Bill is s the current President of the Towne Point HOA Board of Directors. After serving on the Board for one year, he was elected President in September 2023, and he expects to serve one more two-year term.

Projects of note he led have been the mailbox kiosk replacements, the Rules and Regulations update, the physical street improvements, and overseeing our legal issues. Bill has attended every Board meeting and has taken great satisfaction in being its leader. His background is rich in volunteering - from a youth camp counselor to years later as a Board member at the Wooden Boat Foundation here in Port Townsend.

His past has been well rounded: an English major and an Olympic athlete aspirant, a US Marine, a vagabonding sailor, a small business owner, a Merchant Mariner, and before moving back to PT after his retirement in 2014, he was a senior Network Engineer with a Seattle Fortune 500 company. He favors his family, kindness, cats, baseball, good food, good writing, and witty friends.

Jim Maple
Victoria Avenue
Incumbent Board Member

I was asked to serve on the board a few months ago after the resignation of a board member. It certainly is a learning experience and I’m giving it my best. My wife Maureen is a retired nurse and I am a retired pharmacist. Both of us are from Illinois, having moved here to be near our son and his family. Our homes are important for us as housing and as a significant financial investment.

Quality of life is improved when our community is aesthetically improved and it also increases the monetary value of our properties. Maintaining and improving the common areas of our community are of utmost importance and is and will be my emphasis as a board member. Personally my prime interest is of course my wife, our children and grandchildren. Our dog Yadi keeps me exercised through our daily walks through which we have gained numerous “sidewalk buddies”. Our cat relaxes on my lap while watching the Mariners and Seahawks. Golfing is my only remaining sport of participation which I do (not so well) anymore. We’re so fortunate to live here. Our citizens are a wonderful mixture of humorous, talented personalities. It’s truly great to be here.
