What are the requirements for a commercial fire alarm in Connecticut?

A commercial fire alarm must meet NFPA standards, including NFPA 72, and satisfy the local fire marshal, who enforces the Connecticut State Fire Safety Code. That covers the design, the detection and notification devices, and ongoing inspection and testing. Mammoth Security designs and installs code-compliant fire alarm systems and handles the service that keeps them compliant.

What is the difference between conventional and addressable fire alarms?

A conventional system divides a building into zones and reports which zone triggered, suiting smaller buildings, while an addressable system gives every device its own identity and reports exactly which detector triggered and where, which matters in larger multi-story or multi-unit buildings. Mammoth Security designs the architecture to the building.

Does Mammoth Security monitor fire alarms?

Yes. Mammoth Security provides 24/7 central station monitoring for fire alarms, so a triggered alarm signals a monitoring center that notifies the fire department immediately, day or night, whether or not anyone is in the building. Monitoring is backed by a 24/7 answering service and emergency response, and it supports compliance and insurance requirements.
